Another Nth iteration of their "Extreme" Golf...

I knew this was not an April Fool... but i wish it was...

Because not liking re-heated microwaved dish....

I would prefer they do a serious fantastic VGT...

Within the VAG family, i am sure they can spare the resource of at least one intern to do something unique and inspiring... ??

The third image isn't the VGT2
Sorry for the confusion.
Yes you're right, it isn't.

I did try to separate the images by saying one was of the Design Vision GTI.
But I guess the name of the other car doesn't help with the confusion factor.

For fun, I've since overlayed the new VGT shot with an image of the Design Vision GTI that's directly side-on.
And the roof line does seem much lower.
You can even tell by looking at the 'V' shape created by the panel joints that run from the wheel arch to the roof.
The distance from the inside of the wheel arch to the centre of the 'V' is almost exactly the same as the distance from the centre of the 'V' to the top of the roof.
Apply that ratio to the Design Vision GTI images and the roof needs to be much lower.

But as I've said, perhaps it's all just an illusion because of the angle of the new VGT image.

VGTs are premium.

Only in part, since many lack modeled interiors. So in a way they are more "semi-premium", so to speak.

Also, I know that you want more real cars and whatnot, @Thomas__633, but this is not the thread for suggesting real cars. And PD won't notice your concern here, so it's best to post that someplace else, if you can.

About the VGT....

I would like to see it have a MR drivetrain instead of FF. It would be like a Clio Sport.

As legacyMACHINE said, while a MR drivetrain would be interesting to have, VW will probably resort to their 4Motion (4WD) system, coupled with the VR6 engine. Just like the VGT Roadster, and I don't believe VW will change their recipe.

Well, we already had an FF and 4WD Golf. Just said itll be interesting to set Renault to their competition by their new drivetrain.

By that logic, only the Chaparral wouldn't have an interior.
Its a faux interior. Supposedly you can see the tirewall and a bit of bonnet but it doesnt and looks like a standard with a HUD slapped on it.

That said, it actually better than nothing at all.

Lets be real here: ALL the VGTs cars have interiors, its just the enclosed cars have theirs blacked out. That Toyota FT-1 VGT is the perfect example of this.

Odd, that doesn't sound like either a 4 pot or a 6 cylinder to me...

W12?
I don't think a 4 is at all unlikely. There have been Alfa and Fiat 4s with that sort of aural impact and with only half the likely (2.0L) displacement of a German 4-pot.
