NICE!!! I dont have any pics yet, but mine looks like that exept its black with the black leather interior and the 17 inch rims, But that looks really nice! any plans for modifications?

Non-turbo, is that a 2.3 litre?

yeah, the 850s used a 2.3L inline 5 cyl, but the earlier cars mostly used a 2.3L 4cyl, I used to have a 91 740 N/A....I miss it, I liked the RWD:(

I might not know the export models but afaik the non turbo 850 is 2.0, 2.4 or 2.5. Not 2.3, that's a strengthened version of the NA 2.5 (thicker cylinder walls) to cope with the increase in power from the turbo.

The 2.4 (known as the RN engine)came with the update around -99 when it changed name to s/v70.

Wow! I knew it was a 2.3! Where did that piece of useless information come from?
Nice 850, but I prefer the T5R used to be used by the police in the UK. With a 0-60 of about 6.2 and top speed of 160mph (the police ones were factory tuned) they were damn fast

Just buying an old 244 Turbo Volvo. So I shall join the club. New user so once I start messing around with the car I'll post up more ;)

great! this club is actually taking off! anyway, just add the link into your sig (its at the begining of the thread, but dont worry if you dont know which number to put in...:D

Yeah sure I'll join :D

Apparently one of my first words apart from mummy & daddy was Volvo

We used to have a Citroen CX, then we bought a Volvo 240.

My dad then crashed that into the back of a Ford Sierra, which completely destroyed it, the entire frame of the Sierra was bent out've shape so much that none of the doors would open & they had to climb out the windows. Good job it wasn't a high speed crash as the car was full of kids, none wearing seat belts even the parents :embarrassed: And ermm yeah the Volvo, it got what? a bent bonnet (crumple zone) a broken headlight (ooohh no!) & yes part of the trim on the grill broke

We then bought a Volvo 740, since the insurance company was unwilling to pay for the minor repairs the 240 needed. The 740 was a really nice car, by the end I think it had done around 350,000 miles. Not bad for a 2.0 litre NA engine :)

More recently my older bro bought a Volvo 850 2.5 GLT (20 Valve), full leather interior, sports pack, the business. Really nice car, shame it was always me that said I'd buy an 850 :D Hes glad I persuaded him to buy that instead of a bottom of the range Audi A4 for the same price.

My current plan is to buy my first Volvo in 6 months or so time once I've gotten used to driving. Seen a nice 940 16 Valve, wouldn't want to drive it till I had more road experience though. :(

So I'll stick a link to this thread in my sig then? ;)

With a slightly modified link I'm in :D (should be the "safest club ever"...)

I just missed a really good deal to change my 98 T5 to a 2002 black T5 ... but we want to get a new house next year, so it's bad timing. :( Oh well, at least the one I have is a bit faster, and more spacious. (just trying to convince myself :P )

my friend got into a accident in a 1990 740 sedan.......with a semi truck!!! the truck lost the whole front bumper...small little dent in the volvos trunk:lol:

The YCC designed by girls??!! No offense, but they did a great job making an extremely safe car. And pricing at like $10 million?

Yup!... it's a girl thing... no access to the engine (there is washer fluid trap outside), washable seat pads, headrest split for ponytails... :P

except for the PCC (S60R) concepts, late designs aren't very exciting... but they are planning a new model based on the P1800...that would be nice :D
