 a true brick Volvo

Nice 740 powripper, although I'm not too sure about some of those Photoshops, look a bit too bling bling! for my liking.

Don't have any pics of my bros car I don't think, apart from a pic of its (previous) leaking crankseal :D

I just sold my 242 a few months back. When I sold it, it was at 200rwhp, 2500lbs and ran a high 13 second quarter mile. Fast enough to take down a stock late model SS Camaro on the street occasionally.

Slowly building another 245 currently.

Depends on where I'm running it. :P

Drag strip in the heat of the day it runs low 14's.
At night (street racing) in the cool air the turbo really runs better and it runs high 13's. :P

Thanks. :)
I do miss it occasionally, but the next one will be much better.

200rwhp is more like 220-240hp. My car also probably weighs close to a 1000lbs less than yours.

Double our Volvo's power. Damn.
Just question: what kind of engines it got? I want to know how easy it is to tune older Volvos. I get my licence in about 8 months and I'm sure Volvo insurance should be pretty cheap, considering my parents pay £220 a YEAR for our 440, so if I go on their policy...

tuning volvo engines is very hard, there are very few parts for them, but it can be done. I'm sick of the low power in my 740 wagon (114), so i'm gonna swap in the turbo engine. that should be better to work with, bit I have to spend some cash on my car that I just got (82' VW scirroco) Its already got some mods but i want to give it some more punch......wow, i have 3 cars now.....maybe I should slow down...lol

Not true at all. They are quite easy to get moderate amounts of power out of. You can also turbo your non-turbo motor just as easily (or easier) than changing out the entire motor. With the higher compression, you just run less boost, but since your normally aspirated power is higher, it makes the boost psi vs hp output more. In other words, 8 psi on a non-turbo motor is like 12-14 on a turbo motor. Plus you will get better gas mileage, have more power down low and have less "issues" because of less stress on all the parts. More boost equals more issues. 10psi on a stock normally aspirated 240 or 740 motor will be roughly 190-220hp depending on a few other smaller details.
