I've had the money for quite some time. Just didn't want to rush out and buy it until I knew I had an income to support rent, bills, etc.

Oh okay. Oh and you haven't told us about your army training for a while. About how close are you to reaching your dream of being a helicopter pilot for the Denmark Army one day :D ?

You know you've played too much COD when... :)

Andy won't be happy with that little spoiler there  :sly:

November 30th was the last day of the Army for me and the rest of 1st. Platoon. Except of course the few who chose to stay in the military.

While I do miss my Platoon as well as a few other things in the Army, I don't really wish to continue in there. Too much BS, and very little actual work. It wasn't rare for us to be sitting around waiting for 4-7 hours, in just one day. Things like that can really bug me. Still happy that I signed on to the 4 months though, as I got to meet some amazing people, and the combat training (what little we got) was great fun. Even though I seemed to carry around the groups anti tank weapon more often than not. :irked:

Did you read the message on the car spoiler :sly: ?

And what are you intending to do now since you signed off for the Army?

Yes, my time in the military effectively showed me that CoD is crap. Then again, I already knew that. Not sure what my plans for the future is yet. Choice seems so much bigger (and harder) now than it did 2 years ago.

C'mon Andy, we all know that you're missing those ridiculous 21+ kill streaks :P .

On a serious note, good luck choosing where you want to go in life from this point forward; it's a scary world out there :scared: .

Pff, just 21?

This guy definitely played to much CoD:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_Häyhä

I suspect a hack/cheat :nervous: :). CoD is fun to play, but far from realistic.

OT. Last race on the ring was good for me. I think i didn't used all the potential of the SM in first lap so that gave me a big gap to the two in front. In lap 5 i made a few big mistakes and decided to pit for SH. Andy and Dani came close to me, but didn't caught up to me due to mistakes/crashes i think. Good job done by Tuner winning the last race. Congrats to Dani for winning this event.

F'in camper...

Got The Thrustmaster wheel and Shifter today. Took me about 20 minutes to remove the Logitech setup. Then 4 F'ing hours fiddling with the T500 pedals!
I wanted to convert it from the F1 style setup, to the GT style setup. Easy enough in theory. Not easy when some idiot in China tightens one of the Allan Keys on the gas pedal so tight, that you can't get it loose. Eventually, I had to give up, and revert back to the F1 sryle setup. I mounted it on my Playseat with little trouble, though I think I'll need a drilling machine to make more suitable holes for securing the pedals.

Then I moved on to mounting the wheel. Easy enough, dispite it clearly being much easier with a 2nd pair of hands. Anyway, I got it mounted, and what a looker. It looks so much more serious, and the housing of the wheel is twice the size of the G27. Awesome!

Then for the shifter. My god does this thing look cool. But then more problems arose. Once again, I'm in need of a drilling machine to drill the holes needed for properly securing the shifter. Bah! I got it mounted in a temporary position for now.

All that's left for me to do, is hook it up to the PC and update its firmware, and then jump on into GT5 to test it out. But before I do all that. I am in serious need of some breakfast. Yup, breakfast at 15.31 Danish time. Dispite getting up at 09.00 to recieve the package.

Pictures arriving soon.

Hoping my PS3 is there when I get home. Friday posted, 1-2 working days. Ill cry if its not there. Anyway, remove and replace old HDD with my one, update GT5, then I can join if you still run a session today. May be a tad late with the slow Internet and what no but I'll be there.

Nice. Are you still holding that trackday session today to celebrate your T500 coming?

Are you turning it in the right direction (counter clockwise) :). I thought your military service would have get you some muscles.

lol, you must have been very hungry then? maybe hungry enough to eat your G27 as breakfast :).

I'll be on-line this evening, send me a message via PSN if you're doing a practise session.

I'll still host the session. I've been reading online that the T500 needs some use for the internals to fully break in. Menaing you won't get 100% Force Feedback at first. Even then, I have to say, I don't think the Feedback is as strong as it should be, atm. There's little to no feedback when going down a straight like the Mulsanne, dispite the fact that the car is pretty much jumping up and down there.

And trust me. The Allen screw is good and stuck. Doesn't matter how much abuse you give it.

Have you tried extending the lever? Try sliding a pipe over the hex (allen) key, this increases the torque. There is a risk that you might destroy the hex screw if it really is stuck, then you'll never be able to unscrew it. It's up to you, good luck.

3 hours, sore fingers and 186 parts later my bed frame is finally built. Over engineered that bed frame. Here's hoping it holds up cause I need a good sleep now.

And hello Thrustmaster T500.

T500 unpacked, ready to torture me with the mounting.

And the entire set mounted on my Playseat WRC.

We are men! We need to over engineer stuff. It's what we do!

But still, you need:

Top bit
Bottom bit
2 side bits
12 bits across the middle

How do you make that into 186? I'm scared its going to transform in the middle of the night.

That's a great setup there with the new T500. It's quite good and it looks better on the Playseat than the G27 in my opinion. Still not sure about the shifter though, I heard that shifthing from 3rd to 4th or something like that is really difficult.

Stereotypical of men. :dunce:

But seriously, I believe in simplicity, and I think that things need to be kept as simple as possible so that as many people as possible can understand. And according to your 'definition' I am not a man apparently  . And as for making a bed frame, you probably don't need more than 5-9 pieces at most with a couple of screws to hold everything in place.

The shifter isn't in a perfect position yet, as I've had to improvise with the mounting and only attached it via one screw. As soon as I get my hands on a drill, I'll be able to make a proper mount for it. As for the general position. It's about the same as you'd have in a regular car. It sits in a very natural position for your hand to be able to reach it. However, it is proving difficult to adjust to having 8 positions, rather than 6. Can be a problem at the beginning, when going for 5th, 6th, 7th or Reverse gear, as you have to consider how far to the right your pushing the stick. That said, the shifter it self is miles ahead of the Logitech counterpart. Feels really nice. Have yet to adjust it so I'll get more resistance from it when changing gears.

Been playing around with the wheel in Race '07 on the PC all day. Simply awesome when you have more FFB settings to choose from. One of my favorite FFB settings is the amount of wheel vibration you get while braking. Makes it that much more difficult, but also that much cooler. Maybe even 20% cooler?

What can I say. I live next to Germany. A country known for over engineering everything. Back me up here Mattie. Over engineering stuff is awesome!

But Germany is the essence of excellence when it comes to manufacturing. Home base, not so much. Didn't collapse though which is a plus.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your new wheel :) . And I thought that the reverse gear didn't work? Or was that just with the Tesla that we were driving yesterday?

Doesn't mean that you are German (although I know hw much you want to be just so you have an excuse for making things more complicated then they have to be.

*whistles the Homebase theme*

And they aren't even German  .

What's that about home base?

Reverse gear works fine. I suspect the Tesla's transmission might have been set to automatic. I experienced that with a few cars yesterday, dispite me never having changed from manual to auto.

My last name is German I think. 💡

Home base is just a general kinda hardware store that I bought my bed from. :)

Great news. PS3 is here. Just setting my room up then ill be on. :D

Your last name is not German :P .

Oh and I know why reverse gears doesn't work on cars like that. On electric cars, karts and other vehicles that only have one drive gear, the game automatically sets it to auto transmission and the gearbox is turned off on auto I think. But what it really should be is that any of the 7 gears on the shifter are Drive, and the Reverse gear remains the same. Would be so much better for wheel users with clutches.

Oh and that's great that you got your new PS3 today :) .
