I would like another testing session on Friday because it means that I can watch you fail driving on your T500 I can give you more driving lessons so that you can get used to driving with your new wheel :D .

Hey! It's difficult adjusting!!! :(

I know it is and I've experienced that 'adjusting' period when switching from a PS3 controller to a DFGT wheel. Good luck tweaking your brain to be compatible with the T500's software :P .

I'm away this weekend so i can't join i'm afraid. Maybe somewhere next week.

I live next to Germany. A country known for over engineering everything. Back me up here Mattie. Over engineering stuff is awesome!

BMW. Nuff said 👍:). Not necessarily over engineering, either decent en proper engineering. In automotive engineering, over-engineering means more weight... something you don't want if it comes to performance. Probably reliable though. The RB26DETT engine is a good example of over-engineering, they can be tuned up to almost double their power without having to replace the internals.

That can't be right. If you over engineer something, then you make it more complicated then it has to be, which means more room for errors.

Urgh, after ages of trying I've given up on trying to get my data back. Everything apart from GT5 will be from scratch.

Over engineering means to me making something stronger than it has to be. For example, a shelf on which a object will be placed weighing 10 kg. Now you can calcute the exact dimensions and make it strong enough to hold the 10 kg's. Engineers allways take a safety factor or margin into account, depending on what kind of function it has to fulfil (safety related items, airplane anyone?). Lets say a safety factor of 2, which is a lot for a shelf i think. So if you underestimate the weight (stupid you :)) and place a 15 kg object on the shelf it still won't break (lucky you :), thnx engineer 👍). If you can place 40 kg's on it and it still won't break, then it's over engineerd imo. Making something more complicated than it needs to be is just stupid :), more likely a design error rather than over engineered.

Sad to hear mate, good thing you still have your GT5 savedata.

Getting back OT.

@ jawehawk: Any candidates for the next VS series?

Nah, I have yet to reach the point where I can drive consistant, which means I can't really compare cars to one another yet. But I'm getting there! :)

I'm out for a while.

Little update on my progress. Been roughly 12 hours. I know it says 10/20 but there will be Spec 2 somewhere and I can't remember how big that was.

Looks great Andy, hopefully you won't have any problems changing gears, like your old one:)

I haven't the room for one of these, looks quite long rig.

Can make practice later:tup:

Good to hear you'll be joining us later. As for the gear shifts, the new oe won't make a difference, as it is the clutch system in-game that is messed up. Also explains why I've never missed a gear in Race '07.

On another note. I'm feeling lucky today. So I'm trying my chances in the Euro Jackpot. 177.000.000 up for grabs.

As the British SAS says. Who dares, wins.

What update is that? Is that the 2.10 update or is there another update that I haven't downloaded yet?

Spec 2 was the HUGE update we got back in 2011 that included our first DLC and the 2011 Nascar models. There hasn't been any new updates since 2.10. M8h3r has to download and install all the updates again, because he couldn't salvage it from his old HDD.

Oh I see. But downloading every single update is going to be quite of a wait. And I feel sorry for M8h3r because he has a super slow Internet connection which means that he's going to have to wait even longer. GT5 definitely has more updates than your average game I think.

Not sure why GT5's update data alone takes up 1/20th of my PS3's total memory capacity. And that's not including your save data that has all your cars, credits, races etc. stored on it.

EDIT: Andy, is the testing session today happening in your lounge or in a public lobby?

Puplic. And I'll start it up in a few minutes. Turns out that my rig has become really difficult to move about. :D

Not surprising considering the fact that your T500 has more mass than the Sun, the Moon and the entire Solar System combined.

EDIT: Great session with Jawehawk and m8h3r today. Where was the rest of you guys though? And Andy, if you're reading this then you know that you can't beat me as long as you are using that T500 👍 .

Yeaaaaaah, not gonna happen. :)

There can be only one with the ability to wield the T500! And that shall be meeeeeee! My precious.

Good luck with it then. But I'm not sure my homemade rig would stand up to the T500 :scared: .

DISCLAIMER: Because you are playing with toys that are too manly for you :sly: , I am not responsible if the T500 rips your arms off/breaks your wrist.

Stop shooting zombies and the next time we have a track day then get your lazy 🤬 on GT5 so we can have 4 or more people in the lobby next time :) .

Zombies? Sir, I only play multiplayer, I don't really see much fun in zombies for now.

There are no good CoD players. That would insinuate that the game requires any kind of skill.

There are 4 types of players in CoD. You have xmas n00bs, 'average' players, lucky 🤬 players, and decent players.

And then you have 'good' CoD players.
