@Jawgant I also love French Blue, it's a great shade. The WR Blue Mica comes from Subaru's.

I have a French Racing Blue but I forget where I got it from. Other nice blues that I have are Azzurro Dino and Yas Marina Blue.

I highly recommend getting Bleu Metalisse from Hommel then, guys 👍 Stunning, subtle shade of blue, that. 300SL looks absolutely phenomenal with that, to give you an example.

Cheers Madertus & iainoflo85 ... i'm on the hunt for those blue's as we speak ... found the Hommel Bleu Metalisse and you're right ... it's a good 'un ... will go spraying with it later :)

Jaguar XKR-S :)

Not to mention the legendary Bay Side Blue (M) - it's from R34 Skylines. Not sure which models have them (probably all of them), but luckily the Premium GT-R V Spec Nur '02 has it. Again, it's Premium, so it's best previewed with this one.
Also (yeah, I'm not finished yet :D ), try the Premium LeMans Blue (3P), to be found on Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) '08, aka 370Z.
Moving on... Definitely check out Blu Montecarlo from Alfa Romeo Brera.
Don't forget about Lotus Esprit's (the Premium V8 '02 one) Laser Blue Metallic.

That's it for now :D

Cheers again Madertus ... on with the Esprit's blue ... nice colour ... i need to get racing again and earns some more pennies to pay for them ... lol ... and thx Akwaaba ... your right m8 ... tracked it down and WR Blue Mica is Subaru Impreza. Also found a Racing Blue (tho not French?) in the Renault Sport Clio R.S. '11 :) ..... Trawling the old American classics too ... a gold mine of cool colours ... may post a few!

Just a note on WR Blue Mica, there's another version of it available on the older rally cars called Sonic Blue Mica which is also a really nice colour. Ferrari have some nice blue colours, I'd recommend having a look at the Dino and the 430 for their colours.

MMX
It is not. I bought a Grabber Blue, and some sort of green Mustang, thinking I would get both chips, but no. :(

Isn't that called Gotta Have It Green or something like that? Shame you don't get them, the Mustangs have some really nice colours.

Closest to that blue from the Mustang is probably Yas Marina Blue on the M4.

Thanx everyone ... loadsa blue's to aim for ... Jaw's a happy chappy :)

Fuzzi0n ... the Sonic Blue Mica is great ... used it already .. i'll try to post pics.

iainoflo85 ... Thx m8 but the Grabber Blue is outta bounds ... durn Mustangs !!! :banghead: ... lol.

Azzurro Blue:-

Lancia Stratos '73 : Cr. 375,000 : 5 Paint Choices : Azzurro Blue

A bit pricey but well worth it ... might even try the Verde Mela Green sometime for fun !?!

And finally Azzurro Blue put to good use on a Honda S2000 '06 ... how would it look on a McLaren ??? ... Hmmmmm ;)

... Hope this is useful .... is it worth doing some more of these in here for folk searching for colours like me ???

Hey guys, can I ask what shade of blue would look a lot like the Gulf Racing Team's blue and which car should I buy to get the shade of blue?

An obsession with Blue Paint ...

Ever since my days as a youth i've sprayed cars blue - all my top Scalextric cars were re-painted in various shades of blue ... then my first set of real wheels (a MkI Escort van) got dawbed in blue paint ... and onthrough time to GT5 where i carried the tradition on ! Now, having just moved up to GT6, i'm experimenting in Blue once more!

Thanks to this thread i've found the (popular!) "French Blue" ... available by buying the cheapo
Triumph Spitfire for cr. 17,200 and now the colour of choice for my top cars ... until i get hooked on another Blue !!

The Spitfire's also a source for other obscure (cheap!) colours :)

... and how it looks on a RX-7.

Hope this is useful to other Blue fanatics !!!

PS: WR Blue Mica is a good shade but i can't remember where i got the bugga from ???

(Edit: Thx to the kind souls on here, WR Blue Mica can be found with the (Modern) Subaru Impreza and Sonic Blue Mica on the older Impreza)
Nice to see a fellow blue enthusiast! I usually buy my cars in blue, which is why I have some nice blue shades in my collection. I'll try to upload some pictures of my favorites later today.

Look forward to it m8

Now that's a Blue i'd also love to have !! ... not found it myself yet (way lighter than anything i've seen so far) but i do know that the powder blue is (in real life!) 3707 Zenith Blue and the Orange is 3957 Tangerine ... hope there's a compromise for the blue somewhere in the "old" cars ???

Dug this link out from my favorites:-

Don't know whether it's been mentioned already, but if you like dark blues, have a look at Moonlight Blue (it's metallic), found on the Lancer Evolution II.

I think I've found something very close to it, it should be pretty obvious but the above picture is a real life picture of an SLS in Gulf Blue with orange accents that can be seen in the grill area and below is my attempt to recreate it.

The colour is available on the '11 Mini Cooper S (not available on any of the other Minis) for Cr. 30,300 and the colour itself is called Ice Blue

AspecBob ... Cheers m8 ... That's another for my collection :)

Z41N_787B ... Great job m8 ... That SLS looks impressive ... nice wheels too ... i'm off to go buy a donor Mini Cooper here ... lol ;)

Thx Gotbeefboy564 ... on my way there as we speak :)

Adding to the Gulf colours theme ... i found this "Fresh Blue" - which, although not strictly close enough to the Gulf Blue to be of use, is still an unusual light shade and so i tried it out:-

On the Gulf theme of light blue versus bright orange here's an experiment with a Honda NSX Type R '02 in "Fresh Blue" (Wheels: RAYS TE37 - Paint: "Orange Metalic" - Source: Toyota 86 GT '12) ... might try it next in the Mini Cooper's "Ice Blue".

Thanks 👍. One thing that bugs me about the premium '02 NSX Type R is that painting it will turn the headlamp cluster and wheels (only if stock) which are usually only features of purchasing it in the Championship White colour which is why I painted mine back to white as the plastic around the headlamps look out of place on any colour apart from white.

Anyway, there has to be a better alternative to Ice Blue as it has slightly more of a green tint to it than Gulf Blue.

For the brightest white there's Whitest White from the LFA that sure sounds like it could be a possibility.

Unfortunately it's not as white as its name suggests :P There are many brighter chips than this one, but they make seeing curves on cars quite... difficult...?

For the brightest of the brightest yellow chips, definitely try Suzuki Swift Sport '07 - Champion Yellow 4. Or, for even, but just slightly, brighter, the newest Viper's Race Yellow Clear Coat. I'm still yet to find yellow brighter than this one 👍

For some historic Paints:
Rosso Corsa, you can obviously get one from a lot of Ferraris, the cheapest one is the California 236'000cr. (BUY THE '84 GTO, or the F40 instead )
The Jaguar E-Type has a very dark British Racing Green, personally I would buy Lotus Europa S.2 '68 (30'000 cr) for that colour, you can also get an interesting French Blue.
There's not any Blue de France in the game, sadly, but the Jaguar XKR-S '11 has a nice French Racing Blue.
If you don't want to spend a lot on that car you can get a nice alternative, Bleu non Metallise from the Hommel Berlinette.
The R8 Gordini has probably the only 'true' French Blue in the game but the car doesn't give you any paint chips...
For your silver arrows i suggest the Weissgrau from the classic Mercedes 300 SL Coupé '54 (this car is a must have anyway).
The Ford Focus RS '02 has the Imperial Blue, the 'old' USA racing colour.
I'm looking for a nice Gulf Blue too, and I found an interesting Perlmuttgrun and/or the Hellblau (again on the 300 SL, the second one looks amazing but is darker) the fresh blue from the Subaru is a cheaper and better alternative.
Hope it helps

I use Turchese Farfala on all of my Italian cars except for the 500 R which is Nero with LFA Fresh Green steel smoothies to match the GT Academy suit haha. really love that R though with its 600cc motor

I'm looking for a colour I had in gt5 at random. The colour is chocolate brown and I have been looking for it but no luck yet.
