For some historic Paints:
Rosso Corsa, you can obviously get one from a lot of Ferraris, the cheapest one is the California 236'000cr. (BUY THE '84 GTO, or the F40 instead )
The Jaguar E-Type has a very dark British Racing Green, personally I would buy Lotus Europa S.2 '68 (30'000 cr) for that colour, you can also get an interesting French Blue.
There's not any Blue de France in the game, sadly, but the Jaguar XKR-S '11 has a nice French Racing Blue.
If you don't want to spend a lot on that car you can get a nice alternative, Bleu non Metallise from the Hommel Berlinette.
The R8 Gordini has probably the only 'true' French Blue in the game but the car doesn't give you any paint chips...
For your silver arrows i suggest the Weissgrau from the classic Mercedes 300 SL Coupé '54 (this car is a must have anyway).
The Ford Focus RS '02 has the Imperial Blue, the 'old' USA racing colour.
I'm looking for a nice Gulf Blue too, and I found an interesting Perlmuttgrun and/or the Hellblau (again on the 300 SL, the second one looks amazing but is darker) the fresh blue from the Subaru is a cheaper and better alternative.
Hope it helps

Thx Vitocorp ... going looking for those now :)

- Does anyone know the brightest white and darkest black?Black Raven from Cadillac is a seriously dark black

This may have been mentioned already, and I would appriciate someone corroborating this, but the Jaguar XKS '11 paint Ebony appears darker to me than Black Raven - at least in the paint shop preview.

Senna-1988.jpg

Need this 'Marlboro Red',suggestions?

@Jawgant, you should try 'Azzurro acqua marina' from the fiat 500 F '65 for the Gulf colour, for me seems the best choice so far.

Ok ... still messing with those light blues ... thx to everyone who pointed each one out ... to find out how they each looked in the game i used a test mule (a trusted old RX-7) parked under the the Silverstone sun ... i'm posting the results below for anyone who comes searching for the same colours:-

rx-7mule_freshblue_800x400.jpg

Above: Fresh Blue (Source: Subaru 360 '58 : Cr. 36,000 : 2 Colours)

blueswatches_1_800x200.png

I also compared them next to each other in the (above) chart, taking each swatch from the same body panel on each car ... amazingly they seem similar but aren't! ... lol ... but for me Hellblau is going on my next project ... it's slightly darker and has a small shine to it.

Anyway, hope the chart is better use than the crappy lil' ones in the "Paint Shop" .. but now back to the French & Azzurro blues ...................................... ;)

Anyone know what paint this is I'm guessing it's a pearl tried so many nothing really comes close any help will be appreciated

I would love to see a swatch from the GT40 next to those. Comparing my iPhone pics of these swatches to the TV isn't very reliable.

Has anyone ever compiled a list of GT colors that includes swatches?

and
An obsession with Blue Paint ...

Ever since my days as a youth i've sprayed cars blue - all my top Scalextric cars were re-painted in various shades of blue ... then my first set of real wheels (a MkI Escort van) got dawbed in blue paint ... and onthrough time to GT5 where i carried the tradition on ! Now, having just moved up to GT6, i'm experimenting in Blue once more!

Thanks to this thread i've found the (popular!) "French Blue" ... available by buying the cheapo
Triumph Spitfire for cr. 17,200 and now the colour of choice for my top cars ... until i get hooked on another Blue !!

View attachment 109206

The Spitfire's also a source for other obscure (cheap!) colours :)

A better shot of the French Blue

... and how it looks on a RX-7.

Hope this is useful to other Blue fanatics !!!

PS: WR Blue Mica is a good shade but i can't remember where i got the bugga from ???

(Edit: Thx to the kind souls on here, WR Blue Mica can be found with the (Modern) Subaru Impreza and Sonic Blue Mica on the older Impreza)[/quot

and then, you have an impreza and a spitfire to drive :D

Anyone know what paint this is I'm guessing it's a pearl tried so many nothing really comes close any help will be appreciated

I'm going with a color shift for that one. Pearl doesn't have two differing colors on the body like that.
It looking almost like the color shift on the gtr black edition, I forgot the name right off

Check out these ... closest i've come across so far - but i've not sprayed a car with it yet:-

Ford GT '05 : Midnight Blue Metallic (Black / Blue Shades) : Cr. 149,880 : 6 Useable Choices
Ford GT '06 : Midnight Blue Metallic (Black / Blue Shades) : Cr. 149,880 : 7 Useable Choices

OR ...

it could be this caught in the right light (as Otaliema suggested):-

Nissan GT-R Black Edition '12 : Aurora Flare Blue Pearl (2P) : Cr. 94,710 : 6 Choices

Hope this helps :)

Wow! ... what a challenge ... soooooooooooo many Gulf Racing GT40 colour fotos out there ... most are modern replicas and glossy - so i've gone with a 1968 model in neutral light .....

FordGT40Gulf1968800x218.jpg

Made a swatch combined from several panels and inserted it into my old one:-

blueswatches_1A_800x300.png

... Personally i think i'd go with "Fresh Blue" ... but "Ice Blue" is not a million miles away ... looks like both are the closet we're gunna get! ... Also i can't believe how dark the bottom two colours look with that inserted!

PS ... if you find a list of colours with swatches let me know! ... lol ... would save a lot of hard work ;)

Have a look at Chromblau from the VW Karmann Ghia. Quite a nice light blue too.

Thank you! Awesome work!

I found another Gulf Blue-esque colour, its called Metalized Pale Blue and is found on the '79 Autobianchi A112 Abarth (the only model of Autobianchi in the game) and costs Cr. 39,430. In the picture below I tried to recreate Jawgant's setup by using the same car, track, position etc. to give a more uniform look for comparing the colours.

Drat! .... missed that one ... going off to the store to get one as we speak ... lol .... good call & great pic m8

Great thread guy`s by the way if you get the colors from the Plymouth 440 Cuda and you want the car also, make sure you keep the one with the color you like when buying lots of them for their paint chips as you cannot paint the car itself (how about that for cr@p deal):odd:

What paint chips will reproduce the following GT4 Special Color cars? The 360 is not included as the answer is obivious: WR Blue Mica, available from your favorite Imprezas. :)

if you want original 60s ferrari colors; gt them from the Fiat 500... they are the oem color for the GTO and GT.

Fiat 500
blue Scuro
Bianco
( flat grey medium ) Grigio Medio

for a flat dark red / maron color on the GTO/GT go to :

AC cars ; cobra 427 S/C 66
Ruby Red and so many others. ( actually maybe one for the 2002 light bleu )

the best Blue from BMW is Interlagos Blau on the Z4M ( originaly M4 E46 CS color ) , as of metalic bleu ; go for mystic bleu... it look ok-ish on the paint choice but looks spot on in race.

2002 Fjord blue maybe ?
ACS 427 S/C
Fiat Panda
autobianchi
206 cc iceland grey
bmw 507 silber blau metalic

Love Botanical Green from Jaguar
Sort of a Matte Dark Metallic Green that kills the sheen of the car.

Spectrum Blue (Sic) also by Jaguar has the same "Anti Gloss" look to it, but it is dark blue. (I think Ebony (By Jaguar) may be the same sort of effect but in Brown... but who chooses to drive a Brown car? Brown is a made up colour - Red+ Green? Like mixing Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam... just wrong.)
I'd love to have a Crimson red with this high saturated colour but with no gloss.

---

Ferrari 250GTO

What shade of white would I need to blend with the Number roundel... So that it looks like a perfectly white(ish) car with a black "20" on it.

Same goes for the TZ2 60's Alfa... I did find out in GT5 (An Alfa Colour, Bianco Polo?) - But this car gives a white car with blue numbers.

How about expensive paints? I just cleared out the Audi dealership, cheapest to most costly, for every color and it included several R8 LMS race cars. FYI, some of the colors with German names differ from their English counterparts (Daytonagrau Perleffekt/Daytona Gray Pearl Effect, and yes that's one of them.).
