Look like the dropship gets affected by the load it carries, it seemed more sluggish when it was carrying that tank.

Well I found a video of the new night map as well as the dropship carrying a tank! That new map looks huge and bloody fun!

Can we ever get these videos with someone who nows how to play? It wasn't as bad as the GT5P videos but he seemed to not know what weapons he had and was screwing up switching seats in the jeep. He did seem good with the dropship though. I like how quickly it can go from flight to hover and shooting.

That would kind of make sense though as if you are carrying a vehicle you are using it as a transport and not as the main assault craft.

That said, can you carry a vehicle with passengers in them? Imagine dropping a tank with two guys already in it into an enemy base from the ceiling so that the enemy doesn't see it until it lands.

Or if you do make an assault can you carry the tank with people in it and them firing the main gun? It would basically give it an extra weapon, maybe two if a guy can stand in the top with a weapon too.
 
Somehow I don't think people in the tank will be able to do anything, like the second passenger in the warhawks.
 
Anyone else got the Special Ops ribbon yet? I have.

I was sniping at people in the centre from the wreckage in the destroyed capital, killed 3 or 4. One guy managed to get through to me in a jeep, but instead of sneaking up on me he starts shooting his rifle, so I promptly stabbed him. He had every single weapon, and he used a rifle, what was he thinking? So I used his binoculars to kill a sniper just outside the centre building. Then I sniped a guy up in the tower after he failed to kill me with an airstrike. That was fun.

I've also got a Warhawk Tank badge and Warhawk Ground Combat badge in the past few days. Sweet.
 
Does anyone know if the headset works with a pc?
I have bleutooth on my laptop, and if i could get 1 headset for both the PS3 and the laptop that would be ideal.
It's not like i'm going to play both of them at the same time :)

If your PC allows you to pair with your headset and the games support it, then yes. Bluetooth headsets all follow the exact same industry standard, so the only question is if your PC allows you to pair up with bluetooth headsets... and the best person to answer that question is the owner of the PC. 👍
 
It comes out on the 20th? But, but I am going out of town until Christmas. I won't be home to get it or enjoy it for days.

I am going to get so pwned by the time I have it.
 
even though it is not in the ps store yet, install the 1.3 patch and log in to buy the omega dawn pack... I'm buying it now
 
it's great, I played with the new stuff today and noticed several new options for the filters and what not, definitely a good update.
 
OK, so I was out of town from midday Thursday until Sunday night/Monday morning. I bought and downloaded it on Christmas day but still haven't had a chance to play it yet.


I did however buy and play the original Warhawk. I love the bad acting live action cutscenes. Pure class right there.

Yes, especially if you want to be able to play well in the team games. Now, if you just want to do deathmatches then it is just a trash talking device. But the game shines in its team modes.

Any bluetooth headset will work. Or if you have one of the PS2 USB headsets I believe those will work too, but then you are wired to the system.


And if you don't have a headset the one you get with Warhawk costs you only an extra $20 (retails for $30-$40) and will work with any bluetooth enabled phone. I use mine daily when driving to and from work.

What are your guys aim sensitivity settings?

It's a shame this game doesn't have a tutorial, especially since the game has a very arcade feeling.

I just messed with mine until it was at the fastest speed I felt comfortable for.

Now, if you mean in vehicles, those are turned all the way up to the fastest possible. A tank can be extremely effective against a Warhawk, but if you aim too slow you will be dead before you get a single shot off.

It's a shame this game doesn't have a tutorial, especially since the game has a very arcade feeling.

Just setup a LAN game and run around doing everything until you get the feel down.

Also, look for games that have a low rank limit so you aren't getting hunted down by experienced players boosting their points by killing noobs.

And learn your maps. Weapons and life pickups can be a big thing in a tough game. Plus, knowing your zones on every layout can have you better positioned for strategic attacks.

There are two videos in the same player. One is the ad we got on the PS Store last week, but the other is the ad for teh new maps and APC.


I don't know about you but that APC with the shield looks freaking awesome and it will change Zones.

The new toys work great, was using tanks and whenever a warhawk damaged it, I got out, took a few swings at tank with wrench, and off I went! The new machineguns on jeeps are much better now too, locking on to everything (including warhawks and tanks) and have increased ammo capacity (90 rounds). Jeeps are much more effective in combat now, and tanks are especially lethal if a person with a wrench is riding on it. Teamwork is good!
 
The question is: Do you get points for repairing a tank? I can see a good two-man combo with one guy driving and shooting while the other guy works on repairs. But as usual this will break down as people more concerned with ranking up don't get points for helping out, much the same way guarding a flag carrier is a thankless job and only a few people do it.


I'm hoping that over time people more interested in playing the game to win will be all that is left and the point hogs will die off.

Plus, as ranking up is really only rewarded by customization options the new user generated content may help those only concerned with ranking up.

Was user-content part of the server-side update? And is it rank defined or open to anyone? I didn't update last night, so I don't know.


Oh, and can the wrench be used while riding as a tank passenger in the top turret?

Yep, tanks can have a passenger that repairs the tank during battle. Be careful if you're the passenger though, as people may shoot you to make it easier to kill the tank, LOL.

Also, I have used the wrench for melee combat against tanks, works better than grenades, LOL. Haven't successfully killed a warhawk with it yet.

That's nothing new. I've done a grenade on the top of the tank and sniper rifle shot to get an easy kill on tank passengers before. Heck, I even jumped on the tank and knifed a guy once. Just once though.
 
You'll be able to do it more often now though, as you have to repair it while popped up. It's funny how some people never duck back inside when a sniper bullet whizzes past, LOL

I never do. I just turn and point my rocket launcher at their camping spot. I make a deadly tank passenger because I use my rocket launcher to take out Warhawks.

I think some people believe that being in a vehicle means that you only die when the vehicle explodes. The number of times I have been chasing a guy with a knife and seen him hop on a 4x4 turret.....SHINK! AGGH!

The new Broken Mirror expansion will happen on April 17th, when the new PSN Store launches, along with Prologue. So, it may be a while before I actually explore the new map and vehicle.

My two youngest (10&8 have taken a liking to the game. I bougt it for me not thinking they would even pay it any mind...nope... Their addicted. Shoot, my daughter (10) has become quite deadly with a Warhawk/Nemisis.

Fool killer...I'll get in touch when my headset arrives.
