So is there any way to get credited for a lost car? I lost a Gallardo I had sent before I saw this thread.

Ok, I've tested it over and over again. It only let's you send once from any account in one day.
That goes for cars or car tickets.
It's too consistent for the problem to be down to their servers being screwed up.
I'd love to be wrong about this, but repeated experimentation produced the same results again and again.
I know people are reporting irregularities so who knows.

I had been sending the Museum Cards and Colours from a "temporary" account I was using to try to get some variation in the colour of the C2 Corvette... genuine colours rather than PD's laughable painting option.
It seemed as if the trading stopped at a specific point regardless of what was being sent. I'd be happy to lose the C2's I was sending (3 colours other than the black in the Used Dealer) provided the other items got through OK (seems as if there is no limit on sennding Paint or Museum Cards). I was sending the paint colours as well as the cars, so I could use those on existing cars to get some variation.

PD are not doing this, it is simply that the servers are having problems. If the Bday glitch was a concern to pd they would simply bring out a patch to code the Bday cars so you could not sell or send then only remove them from your garage. They would not fix the servers to make cars disappear during trades.
To many conspiracy theory's and not enough patience going on in this thread.

The birthday glitch and the people doing it are to blame for all the problems with gifting. There is a reason why PD tried to limit it one gift per day, to make sure the servers wern't overloaded by too many people gifting cars. They didn't count on people exploiting a nice feature in the game and as a result I expect the birthday gift will be removed from the game shortly, to stop the abuse and to ease the load on the servers.

the 'birthday gift' cheat everyone is referring to would be changing the date and such so you can send more cars?
I just use the quit game before ok cheat...but I havent traded anything since this started going down.
I think that if PD thought it was a problem they would release a patch and/or stop trading all together. I really doubt they would just be like haha suckers!

What about the people who are losing their hard earned vehicles? Surely PD cannot punish everybody just because of a few bad seeds..
If PD needs to do anything, they need to just disable the birthday gift ticket all together... It was a cool little gesture, but people had to take it to the next level and ruin a good thing for everybody. Hopefully this gets sorted out sooner rather than later.

Yeah, but come on, not much has been ruined really. People have one birthday a year which could be anytime, and on that one day, you're more likey to get a Honda Beat than a Mazda 787b lol if your birthdate is even in 1991.

They need to fix the damn servers and change the limit. That way people wont have to jump through loopholes just to trade more than once a day!

the servers have been ridiculously slow since day 1 this game came out so why are people blaiming those using birthday car advantage? its not there fault that the servers are poor.. it even said in the news ticker on gt5 that the game would be very slow and some problems would occur....

The fact of the matter is the birthday gift is not a major feature... Its not even a minor feature, its just some little extra thing PD threw in there. The fact you can get a honda beat from your ONE birthday gift per year proves that the Birthday gift benefits the glitcher's more than it does anybody else...
Say what you will, but cheating to get multiples of best cars in the game, then to going into the marketplace and trading them cheapens the whole thing. I'm positive that this not only violates the online TOS of GT5 you agree to when you start the game, but also violates SONY's online TOS because people are creating dozens of FAKE accounts and dumping them within 24 hours.
Edit: I do not think PD is purposely doing this but it is probably a side effect from the overwhelming amount of activity on the servers. People seem to forget that this whole "trading cars" thing is all user generated... I doubt PD envisioned that users would create an entire marketplace dedicated to trading cars and paints. They probably implemented it as a cool little feature for friends to send gifts to each other, but we all just took it to another level and ran with it...

I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly. Once again the lack of vision PD has shown in certain aspects of this game is astounding. Some areas of the game are absolutely brilliant don't get me wrong, but there are some serious flaws with it and unless PD is willing to acknowledge these and rectify the flaws in a timely manner, I for one will not be playing this game much longer.
Pull your finger out PD, listen to what's being said and act on it, rather than sticking your head in the sand. Somehow, I don't think they're listening. Guess I'll wait and see.
After a week and a half of playing GT4 I was 10% done and really enjoying the game, wish I could say the same about GT5.

guys, i really doubt that is a case of the servers being overloaded. The amount of information that the needs to be sent in a trade is miniscule. It is just an unlock code, all the information is already on the disk and/or installed on your ps3, so in essesnce you already have every car, the trade system only unlocks/locks cars from your ps3.
For example when you get a stealth car the data downloaded from the playstation store is only 100k.

I didnt mean it as a bad thing, who could really have the foresight to have seen this coming? Ive been enjoying GT5 and while its not perfect, i think it is a great game.
