We Did It! The Voting Is Over! WE WON! Thank You GTPlanet.net!

I want 10% of all career earnings in return kthx. :D

Congrats.

Yippee! Yeah what do we get for the GTP mass effort?

Nah only joking, its good to pull together like this, maybe Allan could drop us a word!

Robin

Or possibly not tell him because then it'd give him the impression we voted for him because we were asked to, having no true idea of who is the deserving winner.(Which we did)

yeah that kinda did cross my mind, you might then feel your success wasnt totally warranted...

I did not vote, mainly because I feel it is a bit wrong to be asking people to vote for someone you have never seen.

To the people who voted more then once

When you vote more then once it sounds a bit like rigging votes.

When you act like a jerk more than once, people think you're a jerk

No go rain on someone else's party, squirt

This is one of the times I wish GTP didn't have a swear filter

Multi votes were allowed. How is that 'rigging votes?'

There you go, other people started threads to vote for TJ but the strength of GTP is so awesome that they couldn't handle us. And we were allowed to voted once a day so I don't see how it is rigging it, the other people could have voted once a day as well.

Multi-votes were never allowed; they let you dot the box and hit enter as many times as you like, but the vote still only counted once per 24 hours. All you had to do was look at the number of votes, because it never changed.

Thanks for being so righteous, here's your gold star. 👍

Hey, if they can ask people to vote, so can we.

If it allowed you to vote every 24 hours, I'm pretty sure that still counts as Multi-Voting.

Because, it being a fight with two people having 80% of the votes doesn't make it seem like there weren't any forums involved.

So in essence, after the initial votes, the outcome of the whole vote was largely dependent on how many members of the particular forum noticed their respective thread?

Seriously, Jamie... when you're lying awake at night, wondering why people don't like you, you can look back at posts like the one you just made and find your answer.

Lol, had to wait 2 days before i could see if he won :)
(internet problems)

Congratz on the win.
Good to know that i didn't waste my time on this ;)

 I was just kidding around.

Glad to see Allan won.

After a while... it took me that much to catch on.

Why can't we all savour the fact that we made a difference around here? Allan Colley deserved to win the title (I saw him race, and yes he did), but he was overshadowed by lack of sponsorship, as Solid Lifters said. In the meantime, TJ Winegardner is also an exceptional driver, but almost too many people noticed him because he was well-funded to start. I am sure that much more sense could be made of this matter if PMs were sent to continue this debate, rather than bringing down a thread that the people involved, 'vote-riggers' or not, are supposed to enjoy.

UPDATE

2007 Southern Raceway Track Champion

Thanks to everyone who voted for Allan on the Florida Short Track Report Driver of the year contest. It looks like we won!!!!

Please listen to Tom Sherrill live Monday 1/7/08 on floridashorttrackreport.com

He will announce the driver of the year winner.

And then we get our cookies?

It was one cookie per vote, right? DustDriver and I are going to clean up! And get grotesquely fat(er).

I only voted 1 time because I thought thats all that would be allowed based on other polls/votes I have seen around forums here and there.
Well done on his eventual win and a great show of strength from the GTP guys all pulling together when push came to shove ;)
