Well no luck so far :( Man this track is frustrating :grumpy:
Tried the settings you posted, tuff240, and they let me improve my time about 10 seconds (settings alone). I did a few laps (about 5 or 6) and I managed to get into the 3'45.xxx, but no luck getting better than that. I think it's just a matter of practice/experience from now on. Changing the settings further shouldn't improve my time by much, now it's all on the driver's skills (which in my case amount to about 0-ish :D).

It's no problem getting a T1 of 1'08.xxx, but T2 and T3 are just impossible. I can't just do them in 1 minute average each. Those closing in circles are hard to digest, and that 90 degree corner section is even worse. I am getting so frustrated I am about to throw the whole PS2-GT3 combo out-the-window :grumpy:

I need a break, I will be reading posts here and there for a while...

I just spent some time with the P001.

It was rough. :irked:

Each section was a back and forth with my other laps.

I can't remember the splits, but I do remember that I can get a full second off the T1 only to lose it at T2, then gain and lose through T3, then again, gain .6 or so through the finish.

So at the moment I see about 3 seconds coming off the F1 time (if I put in the effort).

However, I would really like to get back into the castrol supra, run it to 970hp, then try see what I can do. :mischievous:

Back with updates once I get some more racing in (which will certainly happen tonight).

So until then,

You should try the arcade Mini. I don't even brake there, the car pretty much slows down by itself! :D

Just a quick question. Where do you get the F094/S from??????
America or Japan. Europeans only get the P001/P002. The F094/S is the US equivalent of the P001. They are equal in performance.

I actually did try the arcade Mini last night... I ended up falling asleep at the end of the first straight :D... lol!

Seriously though, yes, I actually did 1 (ONE) full lap with the arcade Mini, and I agree with what you said about the circles... 👍
Couldn't be bothered to do more than that one lap, though.

You never know, though... If I end up being too slow in my Denso Supra, then I might join the Mini mini-competition (:D) that's going on this week. I mean, it can't be that hard to get a decent time with it, you can take most of the turns full blast, since the thing only tops at about ~95MPH (approximately) (LOL!) - so I should get times at least COMPARABLE to the other Mini drivers out there(here).

More to come later.

NOW WAIT A MINUTE! No wonder I was getting freaking frustrated :grumpy: :D
💡 I just figured out something: you all are posting your SPLIT Times! 💡

[Ehm... TheWizard feels incredibly stupid/embarassed for being such an idiot :embarrassed:]

I thought the T3 time was actually the FINAL Time, I just noticed that there are 3 Split Times in this track, not 2 like in most cases... I thought I was driving so bad I don't even need to be in the WRS...

This new "revelation" changes the things quite a bit - disregard all my previous posts about me not being able to get a decent time, because now that I know the times posted here are ONLY up to T3 and not up to the finish line, it's a whole different story 👍 :D Man, I feel so dumb :yuck:

I was checking the GT3 times website, and I was like, "There is no way in hell these guys are pulling a 3 minute lap in a Denso Supra when the record with a 094/s is 3'04.062!" But then I thought, maybe the people that posted in the website didn't really try hard enough/only did a few laps and then got bored/frustrated with the track and quit trying to better their times.

I should be banned from the WRS for being so blind/stupid/dumb/[insert the worst insult you can come up with here - I deserve it] :sly:

... :(

EDIT: Feel free to laugh at me as much as you want/feel like! I deserve it! 👍

 Well glad you aren't as slow as you thought. 👍
Glad my settings helped you. I'm curious to try Hugo's settings myself if he posts them. He usually does, but the Denso is a highly run car and often fights for top spots on the databases. He might guard those settings a little more than other cars. He also likes his cars a little looser than me (from other settings of his I've tried). Or I should say can drive smoother, so he can have a looser car. Loose equals fast if you are good enough to drive it. But I can usually modify them slightly for me and they work better than the mess I come up with. :odd:

With the new confidence achieved from my recent discoveries (check my previous post :D), I managed to run a T3 of 3'03.xxx! I feel so much better now I think I deserve a beer.

[TheWizard goes to fetch him some Heineken ]

Yes, thank you again. I would like to try a second opinion, too. Actually I haven't tried the Supra with my old settings yet, I should go back to what I had before (minus the transmission settings, because I never figured out of to set it up right) and see if the improvement came only from the optimized gear ratios, or also the rest of the setup. You know, everybody has a different driving style, and what works for you might not work for me... plus my Supra used to handle pretty good for me with my own settings... I just cannot figure out of to set up the gears

Well, going to get me some beer/food. Will try some more laps later - maybe I'll drive even better if I am a little high :D

EDIT: My Denso Supra has something like 1500+ miles :scared: Needless to say, it has the permanent horsepower drop that all cars experience after xxx miles (not sure about the actual number - not important though). So, my Supra = 951HP. New Supra = 970HP (after tuning, break in and the like). Now, in your opinion, how much is the lack of 19HP costing me in lap time? I don't really feel like re-running the "All Japan GT Championship" in the Amateur League just to get a new Supra, unless you all think the 19HP difference somehow kills my final time by an appreciable amount...

Hey folks, what’s the deal as far as cones goes? I nicked one knocking it over after T3 in slalom :nervous: Both wheels were still on track tho. I can probably clean up my lap some seeing even a faster lap time but it’s the best save I have and I don’t have much time to run this again.

Anyhows, splits from me fastest lap. . plus one dead cone :dopey:
1’03.558
2’00.971
2’56.835

Cone shots are fine since there are so many spots to nail them while not going off course with more than 2 wheels.

So as long as you have 2 wheels on it is all good. :D

btw, have any of you thought about how ...

If the wrs did 1 race a year this would mark a century of racing.

Also,
have any of you thought about how if this were being done about 100 years ago it would probably take about 1 year to organize a race with this many people from such diverse places throughout the world?

Just wondered. :D

One hundred years worth of racing in one hundred weeks!

Ok, thanks for the reply Kent. I’ll see what I can do in the next hr or so to make a prettier pass :) . . hopefully faster :scared: . That 2’55 keeps eluding me. 2’56.090 was the best I could muster, then I pitched it away after. There is some much to be taken off my final time that I’m kind of embarrassed I can’t come close to a perfect lap yet :ill:

I tried a fresh car @ 1881 hp and can’t control it! Hard to explain but the car goes through some metaphysical change or somethin‘ :dopey: . I’m quicker with less hp by a good bit.
Very difficult to produce totally clean laps. Have many close calls :nervous: . Also it's difficult to check for cleanliness due to behind/front camera position with this particular car. . you can’t easily see the wheels in contact with ground surfaces.

I have achieved my goals: properly tune the Subaru Impreza LM Race Car, run clean under 4 minutes at Complex String II...

Complex String II was a ***** to run, what a nightmare! I had never run there so I had to learn it from scratch; took me a while. I kept on braking too early to avoid going off the track and on the circles I would almost come to a dead stop before the last one when I shifted to first gear. I had to lower 2nd gear a bit so that I could do that last circle on the bottom of the 2nd gear, but it all worked out well.

I also tried running it on the Lambo but it was too hairy, I need to tune that car better too...

The Subaru handles very well now, very neutral; the only time I get any oversteer is when I catch some dirt under one of the real wheels. Braking took a while to tune, because either I would lock up the front or the rear. It took some trial and error to get it just right.

These are my sector times:

t1: 1'14.628
t2: 2'14.086
t3: 3'14.012

It's funny that between sectors 1 and 2, and between sectors 2 and 3 it was almost the same time, close to one minute...

I am pondering also doing a lap on the Mini just for giggles, but after doing a looooong lap on a Celica GT-Four I am thinking that over again. I have until Tuesday to finish it, but I don't quite have the patience for Complex String II right now.

Besides, I am in the middle of the GT World Championship on another memory card, gotta take care of that one too...

Hi again everyone..

Seems people are making quite some progress here this week. Impressive lap times.. Of course this week I'm so busy I have hardly any time at all to run laps.. I must try a few today or tomorrow! :)

Btw, Tuff240: in the s2000 LM are you using any driving aids?

Cheers!

Ji ha! What better way to celebrate week one hundred, than with my snottygreen Lotus sport with almoust a thousand K´s on its back :D

My splits on this rally-race stage

T1: 1.23.622
T2: 2.27.430
T3: 3.32.436

T8`s yokohama :dopey:
Full tune

Im getting you Touge, I hope!!!

F094:

T1: 1.06.060
T2: 1.57.321

X-tremely good work by LUXY and KENT :)
This is a good week for all.And I hope just one submission gives points.

Here's hoping I'll bump up the weekly entry count!

I think I'll actually have time this weekend to do a bit of racing. So, this will be my first weekly race with you all and I'm glad to see there are a few of you that enjoy running the small cars. I'm going to run the Mini(s) (full mod and arcade). Probably throw in one of my favorite big horsepower cars, maybe the corvette C5R, for a third time to enter as well.

Thanks for all the posts to enjoy!

Later,
Dak

Nice time, I've been getting some 2'48's on the GT One, but when I check replay there is always a minimum moment where I don't have at least 2 tires on the track, gotta keep trying.

Btw Pink, there's an edit button which you can use, no need for a double post :sly:

Ran more laps in the Mini and the F094/S. In the F1 car, I didn't make any progress overall since I kept on messing up in the circles, yet my T1s were consistently within a second of Heinrich's.

As for the Mini, I made some progress, with splits of 1'38.163/2'47.832/4'00.367

Unfortunately, the lap is not clean, as all four tires barely came off the rumble strip in one or two places.

Yeah huh, I've screwed up a T1:1.02.112 by going off the track at the corner after the line

Incredible frustration.. I just can't seem to get clean consistant laps.. :yuck:
Improved my S2000 LM time though:

T1 1'11.639
T2 2'09.371
T3 3'07.721

Don't think I'll be able to improve that much.. Too frustrated. Lousy temper..
Oh well, will maybe try to submit a lap in a slow car aswell, just for fun.. :dopey:

Cheers!

I just ran a few more laps in the S2000 LM and shaved my overall time by about 2 seconds.
T1: 1'09.985
T2: 2'07.748 (had a faster T2, but lost it in T3 section)
T3: 3'05.384

I noticed my settings were from when I first started racing in OLR so I started from scratch again. I threw a basic guess on it and really like it. Feels like it has much more grip than before. I can get on the gas much earlier than I am and it just sticks. Good fun! 👍
Settings I used:
11/14
55/55
7/8
7/8
2/1
0/0
6/7

24/22

5/10/5

3.082
2.240
1.717
1.375
1.151
1.000
3.400
auto 21

Max DF
ASM = 0
TCS = 4

Thurzo... Vitz battle it shell be...
/me goes and get fully modded Pitz 1.5 RS... Your doom is niegh :D

Thurzo
only 2 laps done and i've done on the T3 a 3'53.033:eek: with my fully moded Yaris RS 1.5:D

That's amazing! 👍
If only I could take a boring/slow car (not referring to the Yaris/Vitz in particular... just ANY slow car) through a boring/frustrating track, I would give it a try :D

Yeah it must've been very boring when the Mini won the Monte Carlo rally outright on three different occasions ;)

Tuff and TheWizard, here are my settings from the Denso:

SR: 16.8 / 17.0
RH: 60 / 62
DB: 10 / 9
DR: 10 / 10
CA: 1.2 / 0.4
TO: 0 / 0
ST: 7 / 7
BB: 12 / 8
LSD: 12 / 56 / 42
Gears:
2.878
2.092
1.684
1.413
1.205
1.022
2.700
Auto 21
DF: 1.00 / 1.20
ASM: 0
TCS: 0

When you experience this setup too 'loose', you can lower the rear spring rate and/or downforce, increase the rideheight or lower the damping and/or stabilizers. All of these adjustments should give the rear more traction, it's up to you to find out what works best for yourself ;)
