🤬

I just sold this car.

Still a great combo 👍

Cheers,

No way man, thats exactly what i did!

But i have a rep to protect, so i had to get the car back.

Here's what i did:

Firstly, i had to get another memory card, that had colin mcrae on it, which takes up over half the space on the card, so i had to delete that first, then with my newly empty card, i restarted the game.
I completed the b license, then the a license, then the rally license, then i bought my fully tuned pink (no pun intended) YARIS from the original game and competed in the yaris races in the amateur league to win enuff money to buy my lancer evo 6 rs from my original garage which i then used to compete in the smokey mountain rallies and eventually i won my Focus, which i used to run the american stars and stripes races, which gave me my spoon, which i then saved, and finally, after reloading the game on my original card, i bought the spoon thru the trade option and tuned it and started racing, and low and behold, im crap so far.
But! that's only because after all that hullaballoo i was so tired that i couldnt string a lap together and i had to go to bed so that i was up in time for work!
phew!

I dont suppose you would want to follow in my footsteps, but it is a method for obtaining the vehicle.
Moreover, its a solid excuse for why my times are so crap!
i cant get anywhere near 37 for T1 yet, and 121 for T2 is totally insane!

I dont know how you guys do it!

Help......

:) That's determination for you! Impressive to even figure it out! 👍

Cheers!

Are we really talking about the 355hp (not broken in) blue/yellow Spoon S2000 ?
I just ran 7 laps, managed a clean 38.567 / 1'21.747 but the cornering is so good that there's not many braking points on one lap (2 strong brakings and 2 softer ones).
It feels like running a Mini at Test Course : just stay flat-out all the way and swear because you wish you could go faster.
Any gearbox settings to use the power better ?

Had another go at it..

T1 0'37.824 (REALLY happy with that one)
T2 1'21.214 (not so happy)

..and improved the lap time by almost a second! 👍 However as evident from my T times I lost alot between T1 and T2 and I know exactly where.. Still, now I know I can go pretty fast! :)
Finally quite happy with my settings too..

Cheers!

sphinx comes in and wrecks my glory.

I may post my settings, if they are wanted. sphinx or hugo boss any settings from you guys?

Also what is your T1 sphinx and give us a run through the 3rd corner after T1 (right hander). Thanks 👍

Don't worry about it mate, I'm waiting for Hugo to come and wreck my glory :scared:

My best clean save so far is:

T1 0'37.240
T2 1'18.114

For that "right hander" I cut into it by changing down to 4th and at the same time brake slightly with a further light touch on the brake as I enter the corner in order to regain grip and to line the car up for the turn so not to hit the far wall as I exit the corner. TBH, it is still a bit hit 'n' miss and I'm still working on it.

holy **** that T2 is so fast, this car just amazes me. hopefully i can catch you, or at least get into mid 1:18's

flat-out

That's right, Cyril. 👍 But that 355hp is broken in.

After another dozen laps :
T1 = 38.030 (seen 37.9)
T2 = 1'20.068

And I'm still too slow in the chicane before T2. I expect a mid or low 1'19 by the end of the week-end.

@ Small-Fryz : for the right-hander you mention, I'm in 6th gear at 220 km/h, I brake shortly after the 100m sign while dropping down into 4th and try not to go below 170 km/h.
My problem is that the car turns too easily and I often touch the wall on the inside at the exit.
I'll post my settings later in case anybody cares.

nice T1 - T2 there flat out 👍

thanks for your advice on that corner. Bit more practise and i should be able to improve.

What speed are you guys getting at the end of the straight? mine is about 250kph.

flat-out

Great times, Cyril. 👍 You really got me distanced this week. I'm struggling just to keep you in sight at the straights.

I'm at

38.278
1'20.722 (seen a 1'20.365)

The gearing seems very important this week, so now that you offer it, I would like to see you gear settings. I'm using the tranny trick with the final at 3700.

Thanks, I really don't understand why I'm so fast in the second sector : my T1 looks like a div.2 time, but my T2 looks like a div.1 time. I'm 2 solid seconds faster than Niels between T1 and T2 only.
Can't explain this, and I find it rather puzzling.

My max speed is about 245 km/h at the end of the straight, but I reach the limiter between the 200m and 100m signs. I'd rather have a short gearbox so that I don't need to shift down to 2nd in the square lefthander after T2 : 120 km/h in 3rd.

Here are my settings :
10.5 / 8.1
90 / 90
--- / ---
10 / 10
10 / 10
2.0 / 1.0
0.0 / 0.0
2 / 2

24 / 19

0 / 10
0 / 20
0 / 10
Auto 18, final drive 3.900, tranny trick

0.74 / 0.85
ASM 2
TCS 0

I'm really trying to push her to the limit now, but I still have some way to go to achieve what I personally believe to be the max for this car & track.

Best clean so far:
T1 0.36.992
T2 1'17.690

Really have 'Got No Time' this week.... job interview today :yuck: and then off to Scotland 'til Tuesday (there isn't a smilie to describe 'freezing your nuts off'), so I have to post my best run from last night... nice wee car the Spoon S2000.

Another 20 laps yesterday gave no clean lap. I've been improving my line (and speed) in some turns but always hit a wall at some place.
I still hope I can reach 1'19.5 (or lower) by the end of the week end.

im hoping for mid to low 1:18's, See how i go over the weekend, might get some good runs in

Man you guys are fast! 👍 I can get a decent time up to T1 but the 3rd corner (right hander) efter that always messes up my run. I have no idea how to take it and always lose alot of time there.. :ouch: I guess I'll just have to give it more practise!

I was hoping to get a T2 in the region of 1'20 but I'm not sure I will..

Cheers!

I got under a particularly triple odd number yesterday, and would have been proud to post my settings here, but i have been reading the times posted by sphinx and racybacy and have decided they arent worthy. (my settings that is)

Obviously you two are using the Spoon on GT 4 which has nitrous fitted and therefore achieves 390kph on the straights.

In case anyone cares, here are my gears, which allow you to achieve a better speed up the hill after turn one, by staying in 4th, and only run out of steam at the end of the straight when they need to.

However, sphinx, racybacy, you may find they cant cope with the NOS.

3.482
2.350
1.670
1.315
1.105
0.960

Final drive: 4.230
Auto 26.

I dont remember if i used tranny trick or not, as i spent hours getting those where i wanted them, so if you cant achieve my gears without it, i suggest you apply the trick and see.

T1: 37.542
T2: 1'19.174

(all comments made towards sphinx and racybacy that imply underhandedness are totally sarcastic and should be ignored)

3rd turn after T1 has been discussed in the posts above, Small_Fryz had the same problem that you have.

My technique is :
- 6th gear at 220 km/h
- shortly after the 100m sign :
a) braking slightly
b) shifting down into 4th
c) turning the wheels to hit the inside rumble strip
- stay flat-out all through the turn (4th gear, about 170 km/h)

That's also what Sphinx does, and he's already below 1'18 :guilty:

Whats that about 4th? why down to 4th?
5th is amply slow enuff. Hmm maybe thats where im going wrong.....
Maybe my gears are just pants....
Thats english slang for not-so-good.
Anyone want to test them and let me know they are/arent?
I appreciate any feedback from you guys. Provided its positive.

Im starting the "Cap the fastest guys from WRS to take podiums for yourself" campaign by the way, if anyone wants to join, please send £50 and/or a copy of GT4 PAL edition to me at the usual address. Dedicated members can just send the heads of the drivers involved as proof of their loyalty. Extra bloody ones will earn the sender a prize!

I've found the target I want to reach for this one 👍 I've managed to get a dirty chaser saved with a T1 36.7 and T2 1'17.1. Once I've beaten that with a clean run then thats my lot for this one. Great selection Kent 👍

Please don't add these times to the leader board 👍

What is the secret??????, Where are we mere mortals going wrong???

There must be a shortcut in the NSTC-NA version where you can jump over the rail and skip half a mile of the track.

Or perhaps we should not slow down on pedestrian crossings.

Best T1:- 38.014
Best T2:- 1'21.439

Sadly, not on same lap, sadly neither ended up in my best full lap either :ill:

BTW, couldn't do much racing last night as had job interview today... but I got the job!! :) :) :) :) That'll pay for my GTPlanet subscription for another three years anyway :D

Sphinx, slow down!! Nice times you have there. 👍 I'm currently placed second and still over a second behind, :scared:

I've stretched 4th gear so that I need to change at about 180+ ... this carries me up the incline after the 2nd turn without the need to change to fifth and the same applies for the long left hander just before the left/right at T2.

Hitting about 245 km/h at the end of the straight, but i'm still playing around with the settings.
