You have to go into options; arcade; setup laps to 2; viola.

I took a couple of races and this is an excellent combo. A race prepped FF + a tight course = major fun. I may actually do well this week. 👍 👍

Lap 1
T1 0:41.416
T2 1:11.483

Lap 2
T1 0:33.189
T2 1:02.815

This should be an interesting week.

Historically I have been anti-Civic (thanks to the ricers that always think they can pull on my Evo) but if the Gathers Drider is as much fun to drive as you all say it is, then I might have to waive my anti-Civic beliefs for the week and thrash on it :sly:

Agree this track is slippy. Most of my experience comes on the long course. That last left-right combo before the start-finish straight is probably my most hated set of corners in the game. :ill:

cor ek!

its like a bus, you dont see one for ages then loads come along!!!!

thanx tho chaps. all sorted now.

Thanks for kind words all. :D

Hope you all enjoy the race. :sly:

Also, exelero... :dunce: (that's a birthday hat. ;) )

and finally... Don't think that's me in the sig pic?

Here are 2 others...
1 from my sister's wedding, 1 from the middle of a hard day on the trail...
Btw, cfm, you might like that one.
CT2 carbon bars and post.
Chris King wheels tied to mammoth dh rims (good for big guys like me)
Marzocchi Dirt Jumper (custom springs and 5 full inches of travel)
Etc Etc... It's a custom bike I built up with the co-operation of the shop...
Only problem is the frame, compared to the "LX/XTR" component level the frame is a POS. :(
Still a 4-bar linkage that works well though. :D

Well even though I got major deals on everything needed, it still cost me a ton of money.

However, it was really fun to work on it.
Everything about it is custom in some sense...
We started with the frame and built it up from there.
The wheels were hand-built by my buddy/bike shop manager.
All the components were hand picked from my old bike or bought new.

Even the smallest details had great attention given to them...
Hell, you can't see it, but on the brake lever where it used to say "servo-wave-action" there is now a PSone sticker cut from that long sticker used to close game cases.
Btw, "servo wave action" was the name for LX linear-pull brakes back in the day before they called everything Vee-brakes.
(those brakes are from '96 or '97  )

Anyway,
Sorry to have gone so far off topic. :guilty:
Truth be told, I could talk about that bike for a long long time.

Well, back to the real topic of the thread...
Week 15

this car feels fiiine, yet still no improvements.

i think the trick to the start is NOT to set the ai to -10, put them at +3 or 4, so you dont catch up with all of them in the first 4 turns, i always caught up with them too quickly and ended up hitting them on the way round a corner or they got in my way mid turn so i making them faster therefore holefully catching them on straighter sections of road.

hehe, excelero did say you would be happy with this one 👍

i cant stand FF cars, thats if im right in saying this is an FF, im sure it is, i hate understeery cars.

Oh my friend, Honda FF cars are a pretty different story, with the right set up they basically handle completely neutral unless the power is crank up past 250 then they get a little torque steery but under that they are perfect.

I like the full course at Motegi better but any track there is really fun.

VTEC Party at Motegi!

Up-date!

Found my mojo again i think?

It went for a 4 week holiday behind the fridge!

You know what? I should have looked there first.........whenever you lose something, it's ALWAYS behind the fridge!

Anyway......
Lap 1

T1 41.917 ------ got stuck behind the lupo cup car
T2 1,11.488

Lap 2

T1 33.165 ------ out-braked myself into the 1st corner
T2 1,02.354

Am finding i can brake later and later all the time! Kent is right, this car LOVES to corner under braking.

Neil

wooooo! this is a great car for me, take a guess why :-P

This is the week for me and VEXD, not necessarily winning wise but its an awesome car.

for those who know tho, kent, you do look like bryan mcfadden!!!!
think i'll start a poll on that!!!

there must be someone who can put a pic of him up when he had his beard to prove my point........ 💡

You shouldn't give people advise! It's a competition remember, it's your secret to how well you do. :mischievous:

I have a problem with the WRS. It takes me way too many laps to start bustin' out fast laps. I normally take 4 or 5 laps before I can get a clean lap and then it takes me another 4-5 laps to get a fast lap which I can't beat until midnight Monday night. And on Monday night I normally bust out a lap almost 2 seconds faster than my previous. LOL

I can't complain, because I get some nice times and this past week I was on the podium!!! But it's just so frustrating!!!

Hopefully this week I can get progressively better as the week goes on. G'Luck everyone, I can't wait to get home and try.

Preliminary times, but I am pretty confident that I've found the right top speed.

T1: 41.699
T2: 1:12.274

T1: 34.876 (lost time in turn 1)
T2: 1:04.264

I am definitely loving this race more than last week!!! Great pick

After my first hour-long session, this is what I've come up with:

Lap 1
T1: 40.981 (have seen 40.882)
T2: 1:10.859 (have seen 1:10.767)

Lap 2
T1: 32.613
T2: 1:02.192

Running RSS tires
Full HP
Least Weight
No TCS or ASM
Gears at 220

I think I've found a trick for the AI settings, but since it's the first day I think I'm gonna wait to tell everyone about it until someone else figures it out or maybe proves me wrong with some different settings.

Oh, and BTW, Kent, this car is AWESOME. It is SO MUCH FUN to drive. I love it. I can see hours and hours of racing this week, whereas last week I think I ran for a total of 2 hours because I hated the car so much.

Excellent combo!

After 1st session I managed:

Lap 1
41.219
1'10.728

Lap 2
33.389
1'02.753

RSS tyres/gears 220

Made lots of mistakes on the 2nd lap in particular so I think there's plenty of work to do yet...

Well, I've been too busy driving my real car but I'm back now this week. Something about getting pushed back into the seat always keeps me in my car instead of in my gaming room.

Love this combo!

The track is technical enough to be challenging, the car is SWEET!!!

It's SO predictable, it stops and turns on a penny, power-understeer is progressive and easy to control.

L1
T1 40.577
T2 1'10.209
L2
T1 32.955
T2 1'02.725

made the mistake of running too hot into the first left hand corner, and was slow through the R/L after, on the second lap.
But still took over 2 seconds off final time.

Room for improvement, but happy, it's only the first night's attempt, at the rate of on race per ad break in Star gate, enterprise and CSI.

Sad Huh?

Neil

Is it just me, or are we (yet again) repeating a previous week's race track? We did this one not that long ago with the Skyline's, right?

What a shame that we're repeating the same stuff already.

I was thinking the same thing. Different creator, different car, different race. It's all good with me! :)

Very true, but it is fun nonetheless. It's a different experience in this car, and for those of us that did it last time, we may have the advantage as well... Come on Nat, let's go play!

EDIT: I see you are playing... And are those pretty much the fastest times posted so far? Hmm... 👍

Oh I *AM* playing ... come play with me. I have a score to settle from when you beat me the last time :P

And they're only "the fastest", because only 2 or 3 other people have posted splits so far :P
