Any help on tuning the car for the track?

409 hp Autobacs MR seems indeed a good choice. I had better T2s with a 455 hp Ford Focus (times too bad to mention), but the MR handles better.
I tested a car with a power/weight ratio of exactly 2.600, but the resulting times were real crap (573 hp Tom's Chaser : all mods except weight reduction).
When I compare my T times with the times posted, I think I'll stick with last week's Mini. T2 is around 1'10 but I have the excuse of driving a slow car

I never even thought about the MR-s for this race, but it clearly faster than anything else I've tried. I feel kind of guilty using a car someone else found to be a fast car, but seeing as ML revealed the car, and is looking for some competition, I suppose nothing it wrong with using the MRS.

I found the car yesterday, too. I was hoping nobody would reveal it.

Got my car...and it ain't the Autobacs...first T2 49.6xx after 5 laps. Lotsa potential. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out after it's all said & done. P/W of 2.601.

Autobacs MR was my second try after the Speedster. I just wish I could get fast times with it. I had T2s around 59.0 when I realized I was running on medium tires. The T8s brought me down to 56.2 : still almost 10 seconds to find to be down in the 47. I'm not even that fast on the dry track (around 53.0)

I don't usually enter these but I decided to break the habit and Im running a 230hp car. It really suffers on the straights but it's a blast to drive so im sticking with it. Im obviously not going to win with this thing but i'm sure someone who's a better driver than could shave 2 seconds off the time. I know I could get 1.5 seconds off my T2 time but the last section buggers me up when I try to hard and I end up going slower.
Anyway, with this 230hp Tommy Kaira ZZS:
T1: 27.528
T2: 52.651
Anyone who has some spare time to use up. Have a go with this little car, it's lightness make's it so fun to floor most of the corners.
EDIT: Also I was thinking, are rally tires the best choice for this track? Because the ZZS can't get them and that's the only thing that sucks to be honest.

Racing/road tyres are automatically selected, regardless of whether your car has rally tyres fitted or not. SSR5 Wet Reverse is a road track.
I've got two cars in the 49s (well, one in the 48s, one in the 49s) and there's a couple more likely looking candidates...

I'm gettin some decent times out of my nearly stock XJ200 road car. I just put some suspension, brakes, and a new tranny, and I get times of 26'866 / 50'305 (new fastest T2) It's great fun to handle. I recommend it. Also where can you get this autobacs car? Do you have to win it? I found it in arcade, but you can't tune it in arcade. BAH.
EDIT: NVM, I just found out you gotta win it at the All Japan GT Champ. or the SSR11 enduro. Guess I'll be doing the japan one again...

The hell is with all the crap going around lately, last weeks results were full of people thinking everyone had lied or cheated or deliberately posted fake times and so on, and it's carried over into more crap here. Who cares what someone else posts? You should just keep trying for yourself to get the absolute best lap possible. I had about 25 laps that could have won Division 2 in 77 but I was enjoying it and so I just kept pushing myself as hard as I could. In normal racing it's all about beating the guy beside you, so speed is relative, but here, speed is objective, it's definite, so going as fast as you can go is all that matters, not just fast enough.
Anyway, I'm gonna give the Autobacs a try (I think I own one) since everyone seems to feel it's their car of choice, but I am gonna have a look around to see what else I own that might come close.
Wish we could throw some Bridgestones on the car.

About the actual race, I had no idea the autobacs was going to be that much faster than the rally cars! None the less in the Wet!
I mean, the rally cars are all at about 2.6
I went with "any car" instead of boom's "any rally" because I thought everyone would want to run their own choice (trying not to exclude that aston martin from weeks ago
).
However, at this point I feel bad about not making this a rally only event.
The MRS will walk away with this.
Ran 5 laps and saw much better results than any of the rallys.
My best rally car on the other hand, the Lancia, started right on the 50.0 mark after a short little session.
I know it is slower, but I may run that sort of race (if any).
Wet tracks still aren't my thing.
Any way, I'm out for now, but back shortly.
Till then, keep it clean, save the replays and try to be nice to each other.
(ok that sounds pretty bad, but lay off!)

I'm off until this weekend when I'll get another session in. I tried the Autobacs and got it in the mid 49.xxs but doubt I'll run it, but you never known, I like the car i found better and have two more I bought just for this race I want to try. One "on paper" should be ideal. We will see this weekend.

BTW - I dropped .3xx from my T2 time... :-) more updating for you. hahaha

Yeah I just re-ran the japan champ to get that car I only had to win 5 races
It's not blistering like I had been led on to believe, but it improved my overall best by 7 tenths. New T2: 49.628
