I had some technical difficulties with the T2 leaderboard.
I think I have it all straightened out now, but if you see any mistakes, please let me know.

Thanks!

Also, BB96, what division are you in?

The car everyone seems to be using to get the lowest times is the Autobacs MR-S with a stage 1 turbo. If you are looking for an alternative, the RUF RGT is a good choice.

Yep. And i'm doing the exact opposite and using a Zonda C12. :D

Well I just got out of school a hour ago, and have a few homework to do. I MIGHT run this week, but it really depends.

Im not a person who likes to take other people's idea when it comes to races like this,so I have to constantly look for a car better the MRS! Is it possible?

I've ran some more laps, changed my car, and ran some more laps. I'm still not using Mrs Autobacs.

T1 - 26.4
T2 - 50.018

I'm now using Kent's favourite car ;)

The Clio Race also hits right at 2.6.
Gotta be careful though, I checked it and 2.601 came up, with in 14 miles of break-in I had gone up 1 hp and went below 2.6

I save my replay but never my game, so that the car stays brand new. Of course, doing this, I miss the whole 'breaking in' process, but I also miss the ageing process that follows it.
BTW, I found why I had crap T times. I completely skipped the "II" in "Special Stage Route 5 II Wet" and I was practising on the wrong way. Dumb frenchman. :dopey: :dopey:, I'll try and make acceptable times during the week-end.

Edit :
Got a first session with a clean 26.4 / 49.7 and an easy 0.4 to get on the first sector (with the MR, I'll have some runs in the Clio later in the week-end).

I feel the same :guilty:

... see you all next week ... I did get 47.4 in a tester on the MRS though :dopey:

I had three cars shortlisted at the start - the Celica Rally Car, the Clio V6 Race Car and the MR-S... Then, after using the MR-S and going an awful lot quicker than the Celica, Link blabbed that he was using the MR-S, suddenly everyone jumped on board... :D

So, while it looks like I'm stealing the idea, I'm really not :D

I took a quick look at the Clio, before I remembered that it's a little tail-happy.

On this track, you don't want to be sliding.

Welcome to the WRS, BB96

Do any of the top drivers have any tips on where to gain some time? I cant seem to break the 48 second barrier. I feel I am taking the wrong line somewhere. I think it may be a problem with my T1 where I'm only getting round 26 there. I think maybe 25.6 is possible. Thanks for the help.

That t1 should definately go down. I got a lot of 25.6s all the way down to 25.2

Maybe you're missing some speed? I brake when I reach 163mph down the straight.

I need a rule clarification please. :)

Are the square curbs okay to touch or run over as long as we don't touch the wall right next to them?

T2 leaderboard is updated.

Thankks for the info roaddog, I see I am losing huge time there, I'll see what speed im getting too also. What line are you taking around that turn?

I brake at 163mph going from the right to the left. Stay at about 70mph on the left and then adjust acceleration going to the right. So it's basically the out-in-out strategy. Try not to slide(usually happens with late braking). Oh yeah, sometime when I'm going right I switch to 4th gear. Then I downshift to 2nd for the left.

And I believe the curbs are OK

Hmm, seems a little different than my strategy of hugging the inside, looks like I might be able to gain some time here. Thanks a lot roaddog for your help.

i, for one, did not take link's car. infact, i posted the first autobacs t2 time. just an FYI because i hate coming off like a bandwagon jumper :insecure:

Thanks to Roaddog I bettered my time by a whole half second, seeing a 25.6 and a 48.0. Just missed the 47's, and I'm sure I'll get there soon.
Edit- Also thanks to Max E. who gave me some very useful settings and tips on gearing.

The curbs were ruled OK to run on in BcV3 so I would think its ok for this race. Why make it harder than that.

my new best t2 time

t2-52.296 car autobacs

i just cant get below that time i tried other cars but the autobacs is my best to us eill try some more tommorow

GT3mich, Thanks, I'll keep the lap with a curb ride then. :)

Icemanshooter23, I'd love to help, but it seems as though your T2 is already faster than mine so my advice wouldn't do you much if any good. :(

BB96, make sure you are running SSR5 II (reverse direction).
Flat-out and I both started on the forward version. :embarrassed:

In general:
I'll update the T2 Leaderboard in the morning when I get to work and my regular PC. This old laptop doesn't have the programs I need to update it.

Time to warm up the Autobacs and see if I can regain the D2 T2 leaderboard top spot. I may have to switch to manual trans to get it back in front of iceman. ;)

In the BC3, Rudi Raser was given a penalty for hitting the kerb that's directly at T2. That kerb acts as a wall and you get a massive advantage from hitting it. It should not be allowed to be hit.

The way I see it is this, if the wheel rides up onto the kerb, then it's fine. If the wheel bounces off the kerb, then that's not fine.

yes no need to dive into assinine hyper competition rules that surgically remove the fun from the game. the rule has always been anything you can drive over that's made of anything other than grass is legal. anything your wheel bounces off of regardless of what it is made of is illegal.

and your welcome icemanshooter. glad i could be of assistance 👍

This is pretty much what I would say.

Only 1 thing I want to add to it...

If you hit run up onto a curb, or if you even touch one, post up the situation for all of us to evaluate.

Each curb touch can be different.

With that in mind, I don't want to rule out curbs, but I don't want allow wall contact either.

So like I said, if you go up onto a curb and you are wondering if it is an all right lap, just explain it in here.

Also, remember that analyzer data can help a ton in that situation... Using the graph instead of the replay will let you see exactly how much your car's speed changed at the curb.
If you hit the curb hard and your speed drops more an just a tiny bit, it is very possible that you hit the wall.

So let us all know where you hit a curb if you hit one, and then take a good long look at your data.

Good luck and don't give up yet!

btw, Max also explained the situation very well. Take a look at his post directly above mine for more info on what is ok and what is not.
Well said max, 👍

Aint I lucky that my best lap so far is legal. I've had a few real good ones that had a slight wall touch. My best lap is also with a t2 that wasn't my best t2. If that makes sense. I know theres much more time out there.

Small update:

26.063
48.634

Had a T1 at 25.758 on the previous posted time, so I know there's at least 0.3 secs out there.
