I actually ended up doing the Schwarzwald League round using my engine-swapped, fully-tuned Porsche Cayman GT4. The thing just takes off like a rocket - but it does seem to be limited to 200mph. Not that it seems to matter much when you've got the acceleration that you get with the swapped engine.
EDIT: On another note, I did manage to get my swapped BMW 3.0 CSL to 700 PP, and what's interesting is that I did so by putting it on Sports Softs, whereas the Porsche Cayman GT4 that I mentioned has to be on Sports Hards to get at/under 700 PP.

Specs of the cars that I used to win in each Weekly Challenge event:
Overall, I think the week was good with the exception of the Special Event.
Alpine A110 One-Make
First attempt and decided my garage car was way too strong for the field around 80% into the first lap. Instead of downtuning the car I decided to start with a completely blank slate. The upgrades put on were a guesstimate for what would make a competitive race.
Nissan GT-R Cup
The racing here was a bit better, and I was adamant about picking the R33, When it turned out to not be fast enough for P1 I did some PP calculus to get an estimate of how much extra performance was needed. Turned out to be about +16pp or so.
I caught the leader at the second to last corner with a major power deficit.
Fortunately, I was far enough ahead at the exit to carry all the speed I needed for final corner, finishing ahead by 0.768 seconds.
The GT-R races were always pretty good, so I would like to see more events based on certain car lineages in the future. The 86s and/or BRZs would be a good start imo

After having won the 918 Spyder from the 6 star car ticket I thought of running the HSR Schwarzwald League event with the car, having giggles over how the Porsche would obliterate the competition. An hour later I thought of running all the races a second time with cars closer to the PP restriction.
Oh, and I admit, another motivation was frustration from not having won the Autopolis race with the 2008 GT-R.
Yesterday's been the day, and here's the cars I used
:

I had a decent Alpine race, stock alpine with some aero, that was it. Just passed 1st within the last few corners somewhere.

Japanese 4WD Challenge @ Fisherman's Ranch - Toyota Celica GT FOUR '94 - placed 4th on the first attempt, but used the winnings to up the power a bit (just over 300hp) and managed a win on my second attempt.
Schwartzwald League @ High Speed Ring - AMG C 63 S '15 - I had this already well tuned up and cleaned up easily, topping out at roughly 320kph (200mph) on the straights.
Alpine A110 One-Make @ Brands Hatch - Alpine A110 S '17 - my mildly tuned Alpine made short work of this, into first on the second lap.
Nissan GT-R Cup @ Blue Moon Bay - Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur '02 - completely stock, didn't quite have the balls to keep up with the GT-R Nismo in the lead and narrowly missed out on a win.
World Touring Car 900 @ Autopolis - Super Formula SF23 Honda '23 - talk about bringing a gun to a knife fight! Easy win with a one stop for a splash of fuel at the end.

The WTC900 race at Autopolis is one of my favourite combos, but the race itself can be a bit frustrating.
It's particularly tricky because the lead car doesn't pit, and can win by a comfortable 20s or so, despite me setting purple laps throughout the race and lapping a good 2s faster than the lead car. It's doubly frustrating because there are two Lexus GT500's in the race (Ordonez and Jehoul), and one pits while the other doesn't - I don't understand that.
Another minor grievance (and a general point about GT7 realism) is that they use identical cars/liveries, which for some reason really irritates me 😅 Most SuperGT cars are unique, but having two with the same livery and number in the same race just doesn't look or feel right.

That WTC900 race was actually pretty difficult. The time I won in the past it must have rained and I got away with the AI pitting an extra time. I had no rain in any of the 3 times I tried it last night and my best was 3rd place in the Audi RS 5 about 7 seconds behind the leader. 40 seconds in a 10 lap race on a relatively short track is a lot of time to make up.
Anyway, I finished my weekly races and my 6* car reward was the Ferrari VGT. I almost thought about banking the ticket for the update in a couple days but I could have rolled a cheaper car. I did bank my 4* daily ticket which was a Honda 2+4 engine swap. I already have both cars that need that engine swapped out, so its worthless to me right now. Hopefully it stays as an engine swap in the update and I get something more useful.

WTC 900 in a Porsche 919 totally stock, and somewhat short shifted and no pit stop works. Hard difficultly. Blast by them out of corners.

nickf1gr have you tried the formula f1 cars or the 919 p1 if your having trouble winning that last race those cars can make the race super easy.I abandoned the last race...

Congrats on the upgrade to a PS5 imho the difference from 4 to 5 is night and day.

Also, the Super Formula cars are ideal for this race.nickf1gr have you tried the formula f1 cars or the 919 p1 if your having trouble winning that last race those cars can make the race super easy.
Congrats on the upgrade to a PS5 imho the difference from 4 to 5 is night and day.
