In doing my weekly I chose to do something a bit different... I turned off the race info in my HUDView attachment 1401965
and did my races without knowing what lap i was on nor what position i was in at the time. It was fun not knowing, just racing and passing and wondering if I needed to pass more i couldn't see immediately.
I've been doing exactly the same thing for the last couple of days! So much more engaging this way. I even turn off the car info if the dash is visible, shifting on sound or tacho. It's actually awesome just how much detail is in the game and how much more of it you notice when you turn off all the extra display data.

Done most of them, just missing the WTC800 which I will do tomorrow.

1) European FR 550 @ Nurburgring GP

Turns out I did actually have a second E46 M3 in stock, a nice Imolarot one I bought some time ago in the UCD because I liked the color. Gave it some German plates and took it as is to the race, was super fun, won almost at the very last corner by overtaking Fraga in the M4 at the final chicane. CRB as well!

And the first ticket, the Parts one, you know what it was...

Yep, I JUST GOT SHAFTED BY KAZ!

2) Historic Sportscar Masters @ Big Willow

This was a double first for me, as I hadn't done the race before and I hadn't driven the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona before. So I took mine, which was in black, and painted it in the beautiful Blu Dino metallic. Gave it some SH tires as it was undrivable on Comforts, and took on the race. Have to say, it was super fun and super competitive, only managed to get to the leading Countach at the very final straight. Where the AI driver decided to ruin what had been a beautiful race like this.

20970569905099711.jpg

Still managed to stay ahead of him by a tenth and also managed a CRB, as I slammed into the wall after the finish line.

3) Lightweight K-Car Cup @ Kyoto Miyabi

I still had my S660 with only look-cool upgrades so I did try that, but I was severely underpowered and couldn't get more than P2. So I went with the basic mods that would go on such a thing, meaning exhaust line, air filter and ECU, and brought it close to 80hp. Still underpowered but not as much, managed a very fun CRB victory once again and got my 150k ticket. I love this little car!

4) Hypercar Parade @ Dragon Trail Gardens

All the fun I've been having up until now with these weeklies got terminated here brutally. I hate modern day Bugattis, they're just stupid garage queens that weigh as much as a container ship, with a ******** of Hp, which can't either brake or turn. This race brought me back traumas from the GT6 Veyron licence test at Ascari, I hated it all. Managed a P3 and that is enough, I couldn't wait for this race to end so that I could send this car back into oblivion, should it come out again at the randomizer I will reroll it.

20970080099931411.jpg

But, this race was also my first time on this event, so I couldn't just let it be there with a P3. So I took an Hypercar that I actually like driving and gave it another spin...

A whole world of a difference.

Same here I always drive with the HUD off only when its a race with fuel and tire wear do I turn on Display car info only to keep taps on fuel management.

Another time to show the cars I used this week's weekly challenge:

Doing a report on my run because why not?

Game difficulty: Hard

6★ Parts ticket: Ultra High RPM turbo - Bugatti Veyron
Daily Marathon, 4★ ticket: RE Amemiya FD3S. Sold for 37,900 cr.
6★ Car ticket: Suzuki VGT. Sold for 547,480 cr.

Lightweight K-Cup Event: Suzuki Jimny. 100 HP build. Quick AWD brick made short work of the grid. Recommend doing powerbuild Jimnys for these races, it's got a slightly wonky PP rating because of its high drag body shape.

Hypercar Parade: Fully upgraded Radical SR3 SL. The rabbit AI (the Valkyrie) got stuck behind a Veyron, so I was able to fight my way to the podium. A white knuckle battle between the leading C7 ZR1 and I ensued for about a lap before I was able to break off after the first chicane.

European FR 550: Mercedes 190E, 554pp. Got into P3 by end of lap 1, despite heavy rain. Finally secured P1 by the fast right before the final chicane on a very flooded track. C. Lopez in the M4 had the electronic assists on that kept him a notch above me in the 190 and would've walked off with the win had he not braked for the fast right.

Historic Sports Car Masters: Nissan Fairlady 240ZG. This particular ZG is a podium finisher from a classic car championship I took part in. Sadly, the league that hosted it is defunct now, so the ZG's a bit of memorabilia from that time. I used the leftover setup from when the car ran at Lago Maggiore during the series. The car was properly quick, and I was able to reel in the Lamborghini by the end of lap 4 despite understeering off the track a few times.

20969981878910102.jpg

WTC 800: Chaparral 2J, using Praiano's detuned setup. Never really got along with Gr3s after I got VR, so I'm just taking the lazy route. Fuel map 6, shifted around 6400-6800 rpm. Realized that FM6 was too much saving at the start of lap 5 (and in P5), and I still had 75 litres left in the tank. Bumped to FM3 and took P1 by end of lap 6. Ended up going all the way to FM1 at the end of lap 7. Ran the entire race without stopping for fuel or tires!

Past week as cool as the classic DTM cars were, i thought something was missing. Luckily I had just the thing. One that made german manufacturers create M3 EVO and 190 EVO just to make a german car win the DTM. It was a tough fight to even catch the pack for a photo, thanks to PD not giving this turbo brick the legs it should have, but I made it..

Not sure if any of you (were slow enough like me to :P) notice this, but the Lightweight K-Cup event this week actually features the return of those type of penalties that let you serve them at any place on the circuit as you wish instead of the forced stop at penalty line that is usually in place. IIRC this is the first time that this type of penalty is used since the early GT Sport days? I thought they were long gone.

5) WTC800 @ Autopolis

Good grief, this is the worst AI I've seen throughout this game, it felt like playing Forza Motorsport online, only the Human Comedy Maggiore event comes close. Got continuously punted, pit-maneuvered and sent into the shadow realm by the other cars, many times when close to the end of the race, ughhhhh. The designated car was a new one for me, the GT300 BRZ, and it was a wonder to drive. Very fuel efficient, could easily drive in FM1 and had fuel for a full nine laps, had to pit in lap 7 because of RM tires giving up otherwise I could've gone for the whole race. Which is what the top three guys did, but it implied they had a very very slow pace on the last couple laps. Heck, I even spun badly on the very last lap and still managed to get the win!

The car ticket was mostly full of VGTs and it gave me one I didn't have yet, saving me a million.

Also the daily 4* gave me a Porsche invite so I could finally buy the Carrera GT! Which means I finally completed the Porsche extra menu and got an extra engine ticket, got a C7 ZR1 engine. Can definetly put that to good use somehow, I guess.

Great idea on the Chaparral! Going to try it tonight.
I ran this WTC800 race many times yesterday on Hard Difficulty trying to win with a GR3 to no avail. Best I could do was P5.
Finally decided to use the GR2 CLK and still didn’t get P1 until end of lap 8. I’m convinced there’s no winning with a GR3 on Hard

Nothing special to report. All races were boring, tickets were worse. Daily's were 10k, 5K. 6* was a Renault I sold for 146K. Part was an exhaust, not even the best one.
You are telling us that from the 6* car ticket from weekly races you got a car that his selling price was 147 k ?!!!!!!!

My worst selling price was a lexus GT that sold for 278k , didn't know that there is worst than that .

... I’m convinced there’s no winning with a GR3 on Hard ...
Can I convince you from the opposite ?

I used my trusty old 765 PP RX-Vision although it's been everything but a driving pleasure with a very old setup from former physics.
This race isn't easy, I fully second you, but it's doable ... as others have reported as well. RH tires, FM1 - FM2, no stop.

I just took a little extra to get the race done.

Since I am one car short of the full garage (invite from Lambo) the 6 star ticket car was a duplicate and will be sold off at a future time.

I’ll give it another go. I got P6 with the RX Vision Stealth model using latest PRAIANO tune yesterday. Closest I got was with the BRZ , P5 within 12 seconds)

Just notice today using it for the first time that Aston DB5 64 at Historical race on Willow is very fun and safe at his limits .
Stock, just add SS tyres and Rolls like a charme without Rock .
I drove one earlier this year for a couple of laps at Goodwood and I can tell you, she drove like a modern car, perfect balance, when you corner, let go of brakes the car instantly sets up straight and you can just floor the pedal. Best car I've ever driven 👍

I don't know how it reacts in real life but at the game on Willow was excellent and was giving the feeling of a safe car and needs less braking as somehow autocorrect his course.
As you wrote, leave brakes and the rest just happens, without any drama or other paranormal activities 😂 .

Yep, the autocorrect is exactly what happens when driving in real life. It means you can power out of corners easily.

Thought the Roadster race would have been last week.

Cool how (GT4)Gr.4 is this week with the Australian Monochrome GT4 finale this weekend(at Bathurst though).

Lots of rear wheel drive action. Good stuff!
