Ok… here me out. We had JGTC in weeklies for Japanese tracks, now we have DTM for european tracks… maybe something is coming for US tracks? Trans Am? Or something like that?
I was thinking that last week and we got the Historic event. The cars in both dealerships looked like a set up for Trans-Am. However, we need a BMW 2002 and Datsun/Nissan 510/Bluebird.
We’ve got the Mustang, Camaro, Dodge, Alfa and Mini. We’re nearly there. ;)

Took on the American Clubman event in a very legitimate American style.

Surprisingly easy win in the stock car (though on Sports Softs) - the AI is not great around here.

Got three of them in today. I'll do the last two tomorrow.
DTM
Easy win with my EVO. Took the lead on the 5th lap. Fun DTM race as always. A lot of fender rubbing.

Tokyo was crazy! Used my Subaru Gr.B. Went out on RH. Rain came at the end of the second lap. I stayed out and took 1st while everyone went in for IM's. Boxed at the end of lap 5 also because I needed fuel. Went on IM's. Rain stopped at around lap 8. They went back in for whatever tires. I decided to suck it up and was in 1st again. Held first until the end. My two left tires were full red and the rights were 3/4 red for the last lap. Had to baby it and won by 6 seconds.

Monza in my funky Praiano tuned F430. Easy win.

Well, last week was a clean sweep. This week, not so much...
  • European Clubman Cup - Zagato VGT 🚫
  • American Clubman Cup - Roadster Shop Rampage 🚫
  • Ferrari Challenge - 458 Italia 🚫
  • WRC - GT86 Gr. B 🚫
  • DTM - Alpine A220 🚫
I really tried to drive as clean as possible, but these events are picky.

After having a lot of fun last week, the new set of races has been a bit of a letdown tbh. Can't help it ! I've finished them all anyway of course using Nagano's suggested stock cars as a start and upgrading them when needed.

BMB Speedway - Audi TTS C. '14
Came in fifth at my first attempt with the full stock car a couple seconds behind Gallo. Didn't have the nerves then to improve the car's performance little by little, just mounted SS tires, race ECU and exhaust and a high range turbo ... and went for the win. Even received a CRB.

WT Raceway Laguna Seca - Dodge Challenger Demon '18
As much as I like the track I disliked the car that I wanted to keep full stock though. Really had a hard time to get this thing under control on one hand and moving forward on the other. Some practice laps and restricting myself to use higher gears only did the trick. No fun but a win, CRB as well.

WC_241025_R2.jpg

AN Monza - Ferrari 458 I. Gr.4
Again, left the car full stock, thought a win should be possible even against way faster opponents. And it was. An easy win with CRB, a boring race and annoying at times. Why does a Tributo that is running 300 m ahead of me literally wait for me and block me right at the entrance of Rettifilo ? Etc Etc ... Done and dusted.

WC_241025_R3.jpg

Tokyo Expressway C. - Audi quattro Pikes Peak '87
@GTvsForza called these new events picky, now this one is for sure. Desperately tried to keep it clean for the bonus ... to no avail. 12 fast cars battling on a short and narrow, slightly wet track. Ok ! For me it's been pitting after 5 laps for fuel and a new set of RH tires and just staying safe thereafter.

Circuit de Barcelona GP - Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93
I didn't have any upgrades on the car before and that's how I went racing. Managed a fourth place, however, without any chance to catch that holy trinity of Alfas up front. That's when the tuning virus caught me again : Got me RM tires and the turbocharger, dialed the car in right below 700 PP ( although not necessary ) and smoked the competition.

Let me apologize guys for being quite negative this time round ... well, just trying to be honest. What I'm looking forward to is my plan Z : @Nebuc72 racing a Civic at Laguna Seca was quite inspiring. :D

Finished off the last two races today.
Blue Moon with this MB. Just a bit over 600pp at 619 on SS. Was sort of lucky because when I passed Valerio on lap two in traffic, he got stuck back there for the longest time. He only finished 6th. Won it by 7 seconds.

Laguna Seca in this Camaro at 649pp on RM. Easy win.

Ran a few more Laguna Seca races including this where my CHP was after some hooligans.

I finished my Historic Masters at Grand Valley Marathon. But because my life is... :yuck: currently, it'll take a few more days to finish the write-up. Late as usual, but what a wonderful, exhausting, experience that was.

For a sanity break, I ran the DTM event twice in a 585pp Evo IX. The lead Alfa Romeo tried to run away, but I caught them after lap 5 for a 1st place finish by ~14 seconds.

On my second run I got 1st by ~24 seconds. I was lapping in the 1:47s (1:46.9xx best lap) while the AI leaders were doing 1:51s. 700pp is still the sweet spot for this race on hard difficulty (650pp or less for a challenge).

Curiously, a Sierra Cosworth that started in 1st blocked the Afla Romeo that started behind it for the entire race. As an extra cursed bonus, I got a clean race bonus. Please don't ask me how or why

... What I'm looking forward to is my plan Z : ...
My plan Z :

@Nebuc72 showed me how to take on the American Clubman event in a very legitimate American style.

WC_241025_R4b.jpg

It was a surprisingly easy win with my 600 PP quick tune ( on Sports Soft ) - way easier and faster than with the Demon before.

I had been looking for another car to use in America themed events for some time and the post about the RCR Civic was the perfect starting shot for setting up the Fugu Z. Everything worked ok so far, next is to check what I can do with the 690 PP N2O setup. :D
Sung Kang can you hear me ?

... But because my life is ... :yuck: currently ...
That's why I say CHIN UP ! There's better days ahead for sure ...

My cars for this week's events:

20241028_083816.jpg

The Testarossa at Blue Moon Bay took me three attempts, upgrading parts each time to find that perfect balance of power and fun. Eventually I managed to get ahead of that pesky Alfa Giulia and stay ahead (just) to sneak a win.

The Ford GT at Laguna Seca was like setting the game to "baby" mode. Took the lead on lap 2 and won by miles.

Interesting how the European Clubman 600 required nearly 40PP over the "recommended" to win, while the American 700 probably could have been won at the same PP value as the Testarossa... Who comes up with these recommendations?

I gave my 430 Scuderia a very mild tune, mainly to give the exhaust a bit more noise and have a bit of fun. Great racing, and only just got ahead at the start of lap 5. I'd never driven it before, and I don't know why not. It's such a nice ride!!

Tokyo in the Mustang with the High RPM Turbo was again, almost too easy. Got through into the lead aft 4 laps and carried on to a huge lead by the end of the race.

I defaulted to the Alfa 155 for the DTM race as a first attempt. Easy win, getting into the lead on lap 6, winning by about 8s at the end. I've since managed wins in an R32 GT-R and a mildly-tuned Porsche 959. I'm finding around 500hp and 1,200kg is a good set of numbers to aim for to have a good race but still be confident of a win at Barcelona. Going to build up a 190E (of which I saw one in the flesh at the weekend!), E30 (both versions), Ford Sierra, Nissan S13 Q's, and a Porsche 964 all to the same rough ratio to see how much fun I can have with this event this week.

Enjoying the pairs in these pics.

4/5 done today, last one probably tomorrow or Thursday (saving the best for last).

1) Euro Clubman 600 @ BMB Infield

The randomizer picked for me the A110 for this race, which was still stock with just SS tires ever since the last one make special. But, things weren't looking good here in BMB especially due to a lot of oversteer under braking. No wonder when I went to see a Praiano tune he had a lot of braking diff, so I did buy a bunch of parts for it starting with an LSD and some Sports suspension (which is starting to become a signature mod for me recently), together with a couple of go-fasties, namely racing exhaust, full control computer, racing air filter, racing intercooler. Then put a Koki Sawatari livery, and managed to beat the cheater in the Giulia by close to nothing. No CRB, but a satisfying win. Do set up the LSD for this car, you won't regret it.

2) American Clubman 700 @ Laguna Seca

Once again it was time for the SCPD to shine and go catch some underground racers. Definetly an impact driving this huge and super powerful machine after a lot of A110 drives, it took me a while to keep those 717hp under control. But, eventually, the monstrous Hellcat engine was too much for the opponents and with the help of a spike strip and some air support, the Seacrest Police once again brought peace on our streets.

3) Ferrari Circuit Challenge @ Monza

It was once again time to bring the V12 out of the garage, as Nakano's randomizer had me drive the F12 for this race. Problem is, my only F12 has been widebodied and tuned to 700pp on RH tires, so it was utterly broken for this event. A very easy CRB victory.

20970313930464092.jpg

After this experience, I decided that the F12 is too much and I will reroll it should it come out again, until I'll decide to buy a new stock one. To make this official, I've decided to give my Ferrari the complete race car treatment and brought it up to 800pp.

4) Gr. B Rally Challenge @ Tokyo Central Clockwise

I was a bit afraid of this race since I still have flashbacks of the Eiger Reverse from this series. Flowing like pee, quitting lust, and the Audi ahead still managing to be unbeatable. So for this race I tuned the assigned Focus Gr.B to 700pp on RM tires. It was too much, won on FM1 with a single pit stop at lap 6/10. Broke the event, and somehow also got CRB.

20970070025330141.jpg

DTM will come up next!

Week completed, even the last race was done.

5) DTM @ Catalunya GP

I hate this track, especially and above everything in the GP configuration with that last sector. Ughhhhh. Too bad because these DTM special events are great fun, not in this track though.

Anyways, Nakano sent me here with the Alfa 155 which is definitely my favourite DTM weapon anyways, still on 700pp on RM tires. Definitely too much, I was in the lead at the end of lap 4, but it's fine as I really love to drive that beauty. CRB? Not in a DTM race, not in Barcelona.

20970585626384719.jpg

Despite the hate for the track, the race was fun and so I wanted to try out another car, and I picked one that I haven't been using for a long long time, the E30 Sport Evolution. Non swapped, tuned to the most I could get on RS tires, 680pp. The car had a Bathurst livery however so I looked for a DTM one, but the one I wanted was never satisfying to me, all the really good ones were for the non wide car. So, I tried making it myself!

20970697362078925.jpg

Too bad it got late, I was tired due to crossfit and I already struggle by myself to stay focused, so I spun twice when, at lap 5, I was 8 seconds behind the leaders and closing up. Ended 3rd, it's a shame, the car is great fun and can definitely make it.

Take a wild guess what one of the races will be next week.
Hint: Sounds like the eleventh letter of the English alphabet
Kei cars yeah as soon as I saw the UCD and saw those 3 cars as special picks I just said must be for a kei car special event.

Pretty sure the special event will just be a random Brand Central one-make this week. The NA is in the UCD but it's not a special pick, and we've just seen with the 190E that they will force the special pick even if it causes a duplicate.

Yeah, if it was the German alphabet it would be this car ...
Ka.jpeg
... which is not in the game at all so this is not possible !

Must be the Kei cars then. Or the third and last Gallardo one-make.

Edit:
Thanks @Eggstor for correcting me regarding the Gallardo events. 👍 Completely forgot about the Sardegna race.

If so, that would be the first time an existing series became a special event. It is possible, as there are currently only 3 special event series that haven't hit the 3-event mark (DTM, Roadster (NA) and the one-off Fiat 500F). More likely, one of the existing Lightweight K-Cup events is on tap, and as @Nakano219 said, the special event will likely be a random BC one-make. I have seen cars in a featured existing series be mid-week special picks before.

It also is the first time a UCD car also available in Brand Central became a special pick.

I have also seen cars in the UCD/Hagerty's featured in the Weekly Challenges remain in just the regular rotation until they would have sold out, then move to a "special pick" slot to remain available. That said, I doubt the Special Event will be the Roadster one for the reason I said above.
Or the third and last Gallardo one-make.
That happened 9/27-10/3 at Tokyo Expressway (the other 2 were 9/6-9/12 at Trial Mountain and 7/26-8/1 at Sardegna).
