Got around to running Spa last night. Used my 787B just because I wanted to cash in. I’ve run the race before without using God Mode. Daily ticket hit for 500K so with CRB, I picked up 3M for me efforts. I ended up coasting the last lap Le Mans style to finish right at the hour mark. My lead was so great, I took over 5 minutes to complete the last lap. Started on RH, FM 4. Pitted for IM’s at nightfall. Finished race with no need to pit again. Minor penalties including a pit lane one. Missed it coming in. No hard contact or Yellow flags to deal with.

Did the Spa race last night. It took 3 tries. 1st try I got in a monsoon on RH so started over. 2nd try rode by the pit stop right as the rain started to come. This was right after my youngest son accidentally unpaused my game while I was talking to my wife. 3rd try I pitted this time switched to wets but I got the heavy rain spun out a few times. The AI kept spinning me especially M. Mendoza so when I finally caught to him I purposely t boned him and ran him off track. The track dried out with like 25 minutes left and I switched to inters and dropped to like 10th. I worked my way back to 2nd with 2 minutes left and the lead car which had a 25 sec head on me,(more spinouts led to this) pitted and I was able just get ahead before he made out it the pits. I finished with like a 13 second lead. Got the CRB and 1 mil from the challenge. That was much closer than I was expecting but hey a win is a win.

I have problems with Neo challenge; finding Escudo on RH as the best choice, but is pretty hard to avoid penalties while driving quick.
Sophy is strong at RBR.

Ral
What laptimes were you doing? I found this to be an extremely tricky race

My fastest was a 2:24. Most were 2:30ish. Didn’t push at all after taking P1 on lap 3. Wet laps were slower but race was over by then so I was just running out the clock.

Who would win?

Group C Monsters

or

One Italian Rally box

Try one of the Group C cars if you have any. If not the 88 Jag is available in the LCD

... but you're not racing against Sophy...

I nearly lapped the field in the Gr3 Mazda RX-Vision. It was just a case of being on RMedium in the dry and RInter when it got wet enough.

For the 1 hour spa race is there a preferred GT3 car? I don't have to win the race because I have a lot of money and don't buy a ton of cars so I'd like to see if I can compete in a GT3 car.

I think someone mentioned GT3 earlier but I can't remember if they mentioned their car.

What difficulty setting are you using? The AI that race against me are putitng in insane times:

Did it!
Both Neo Classic and 1hr of Spa.
Both with 787, thanks for advice!

Neo was slow progress, with Ai pitting at end gave me first position

Spa was going in quick advance, with whole night raining.
Finished 2 laps before everyone else.

Clean race bonus and 1mill for all five races!

So I can't run race 4, it's saying "event not available", any thought?
surely you have to open the café menu containing this event also

I've done it in the 911 RSR and R8 LMS, and they were both "easy" wins. If you keep it together and have a lot of patience when things start to get crazy with the weather you should be fine in any GR3 car.

I don't know why so many people feel the need to use GR1-2 cars for this one. That seems like bringing guns to a knife fight.

For anyone who is looking for a car for the Spa 1 hr. race, I highly recommend @praiano63 's tune for the Ferrari Enzo '02, found here. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/praianos-tunes-settings-for-gt7.404868/post-13864211

Only thing I did is change it to RM tires. It still has plenty of grip and you can then bump the ECU up to 90 and Power Restrictor off (to 100)

The car has excellent tire wear and fuel consumption compared to the typical Gr. 3 cars that run the race. I was able to get 8 laps at FM4, with very little tire wear on the RM tires.

I lapped every car in the field for an easy win, and the car is a pleasure to drive.

THANK YOU for this.

I saw your recommendation and mentally filed it away. Outside of 1 leisurely lap at Nord after I first acquired the car, I hadn't used it.

After failing miserably with other options I used yours and it was freaking amazing👏👏👏

2 stopper

1 after lap 7 for inters and fuel
1 with 13 minutes left for fuel only

The only change I made was adding full downforce in the rear. No option to add in the front or I would have done the same

I did it with the BMW M6 Gr3 stock, medium and inter

Much respect to you for doing it this way. I couldn't get on with the BMW right away because I found it a little heavy and struggled with turn in. I'm an average driver and lack the skill to push that thing hard.

I did it with the Enzo 02 after failing with the BMW and now I want to try with a GT3 car again.

I don't know if I'm skilled enough to do it with a GT3 car but I'm going to try these.

I'm just not good enough in GR3 to do it. Pretty much every other class except open wheel I'm consistent enough to do well. GR3 evades me. 😁

For those who have done the Spa race with the GT3 car, how many stops did you make. I'm thinking the minimum would be three pit stops 🤷‍♂️?

Yes you are! I’ve won it in multiple Gr3 cars without any sort of chassis tuning, downforce changes or gearbox adjustments I.e. completely stock. Use RM tires and then IM if the rain comes heavy enough (although the last two times I haven’t needed IM). Just work on two stops rather than the 3 the other cars need.

Two pit stops is the way forwards. All the competition needs three stops. I just won in the Gr3 Jag by nearly two mins and lapped everyone up to second place. It’s quite thirsty so I had to short shift for the last 5 laps or so of the last stint, but in this race it didn’t really rain. If the rain comes then fuel usage goes down and makes the race quite straightforward.

Concentrate on being consistent and not making mistakes, and not treating every lap like it’s Quali

You've got me fired up to try.

Which GT3 cars are the best on fuel? Actually, what determines which cars are best on fuel? I might as well try to learn something while I'm at it

I used the Porsche RSR for this one, starting on RH tires. I short shifted the entire race and was able to manage the fuel at FM1 to outlast each stint for the tires. If you're playing with AT, you might notch the FM to 2 or 3?

For my race, I had two rain events. I started on the RH. Swapped to IM when the rain came and kept them on until they were about 50% then more rain came and put on new IM.

For the first pit stop, I refueled to 100. On the second pit stop refuel as necessary, I don't race this event often, so I think you're getting to about Lap 24/25.

Won the race with CRB by a good 40+ seconds, if I remember correctly.

I’ve won with the old GT500 Supra and its equivalent Nissan counterpart, and also the F-Type. I don’t think any of those would be considered top flight Gr3 cars … others would know better, but I think the McLaren or the BMW M6 would be “better” cars for this race. I’d avoid the modern Supra and the Genesis as they’re a bit snappy which is not really what I’d want on a dark, wet run through Eau Rouge…
