You don't need to be. Your console records everything that it sees. You can press/hold the Share/Create button to take a screenshot at any time, and if you happen to miss the opportunity you can just press it and select how much of the last hour's worth of gameplay you want to save - then take the screenshot from the video.
with PS4 too?

man I'm no good at this!

I saved the replay, but it says I need a youtube account to share, which I don't have one.

Yup. And if you haven't turned the console off or exited the game, it'll still be there.

Mmmm, no.

Replays aren't video, they're data files used to reconstruct a race. If that's what you've saved, you can share that through the Showcase section.

If you've recorded a video, you'll need to upload it to a video-sharing site - and any will suffice.

Hope that's what you meant 😂
I'm such a newbie at this stuff
I'm sorry everyone ☺️

Thanks for the help Famine and everything you do on GT planet much appreciated bro'! 🔥🔥🔥

EDIT: re-upped with the following tags to facilitate the search:

So if someone wants to see the race, I shared it with the info in the image right above (sorry don't have a youtube account to link it here). You can search for the race replay in the Showcase section of the game and it is ''open to all''.

Well, finished the last race on my main account.

Took the Sauber to Daytona on RM tires and an upgraded turbo. 2nd place. 6.6 seconds behind Gallo in his R92CP. Had a fastest lap of 1:32.025. Lots of 1:32’s, but not fast enough. That’s okay. I’ve won the race with the 787B in the past, so I know I’m fast enough.

6* car ticket gave me an Aston Martin Gr.3 car. Sold it for 268k credits.

I hoped you'd share the replay, however ( without tags ) I can't find it.

Tourist Trophy? We using bikes now?
I'm not saying that I made it happen, but:

Here are the cars I plan to use for the new set when it refreshes tomorrow:

WTC 800 - Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3

Special Event - Audi TTS ‘14

American Clubman Cup 700 - Tesla Model 3

Sunday Cup Classic - Volkswagen Sambabus

Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 - Toyota GR Yaris

For what it’s worth, those last two have swapped engines. It does seem interesting that these last two sets have featured races that were just added in the most recent update, so I imagine that on March 22nd, the new set will feature the Japanese Clubman Cup 550 race at Laguna Seca.

PD you're breaking my heart man. Why would you introduce Tourist Trophy, an event that is exactly along the lines of something I have seen basically everyone wish is in the actual game since March 2022 - and have it as an exclusive, one week, timed event that will be gone next Friday.

Who makes these decisions!

I got you! my bad! ☺️

it is now re-upped in ''Showcase'' with the following tags

please let me know if you still can't find it and I'll see what else I can do 🙂

It is by no means perfect.
With a 100% stock car and tires, to be safe 1st lap has to be around 3:27 like I said(which is what I usually do) otherwise you'll see that you will have to defend hard against 2 cars that are trying to pass on each side (a bit too much for my taste) like I had to do in the last straight 😂
2nd lap was good but at 3:25.xxx but lines were not quite optimal in some places and with a bit more time...I'm positive I could probably go high 3:23 on that last lap.
Hope this helps and it's not too late for your timezone to try before it ends.

Enjoy!

Running a few of the races before work this morning. Tsukuba Sunday Cup Classic, good fun in a Mazda MX5 (or is it Roadster?) '89. The one make Audi TT event? Well, considering how little I enjoy the Nurburgring Sprint layout, this race is surprisingly enjoyable. So many sideways. Came 4th on first attempt. Must try harder.

Thank you very much for sharing your run, found it without any problems now.
It's been interesting watching your lines and though there weren't huge differences between us, I adapted my driving a bit as you had obviously found some quicker ways. 👍

I did 185 km today  but I still haven't won a single race with the stock car. My times have improved though and I'm really ok with that. My best race was P4, 2 sec behind the winner, with ...

split 1 lap 1 - 1.13.xxx, lap 1 - 3.28.xxx, split 1 lap 2 - 1.10.xxx, lap 2 - 3.23.xxx

I remember people saying it's just another useless slow car. I gladly admit I had lots of fun with it the past week. :D

my pleasure! glad you were able to find it.

you did a mighty job at 6:51.xxx!
🔥🔥🔥

but I can't believe for the life of me that this time still wasn't enough to win it, ouch! it hurts for me just to read that! I'm sorry mate, you truly deserved a better fate.

Usually 6:51 should be enough for the win everytime, but I've had races where I wasn't able to fight for the lead or defend well enough for them to pass where the bots finished between 6:49 and 6:52 as well, just like you experienced.

If you look closely at my replay, even in the 1st lap I've had to coast in the first esses so I could avoid the other car at the apex(this time) so I could gather a bit more momentum for the uphill where I've had to defend already to keep as many cars as possible behind me. That I was able to flee them and try to make sure there were as few cars as possible in my way later in the race. After that, I've found out that faster lap times definitely help of course, but race craft probably more of a factor for the other ones. Sometimes it's better to keep an outside line and miss the apex to be able to keep momentum as much as possible and avoid meeting them at the said apex. On lap 2 you can see that I've had to use an agressive inside line to edge them out on exit a few times, which helps to kill their momentum for the long straights where obviously they look like they're on steroids compared to us. On the last lap near the end, instead of keeping the far right of the track when almost side to side with the beige car...I kept going in diagonal towards the outside the left this time 1-to try to prevent him passing in the straight and 2-protect against/delay the other car from turning in at the apex for as long as possible at the end of that straight...eventually he still passed by but I slowed him down by forcing him the long way and defending instead of just letting him go by. Once he passed, I had to adjust my braking point to slow down earlier in order to point and shoot early towards the inside and criss cross with him so I could carry more momentum to pass and claim the whole space on exit to help for that last straight where they obviously had a clear speed advantage and then it's try to defend for your life as best as possible 😂

I've watched my replay and that last defence was not as clean as I would have liked and I would never ever defend like that in real life, but it was enough to do the job given the circumstances.

No doubt that if I hadn't done all of that to defend and kill their momentum(like they do to us anyways) and to be honest I was fortunate enough on a few occasions because even then it wasn't enough to always keep them behind for the majority of the runs I did too. The computer would finish in 6:49-6:52 if it wasn't for that and most of the time I end up in exactly the same boat as you and many others here 2nd, 3rd or 4th when the stars would not all be aligned for me ☺️

''It's been interesting watching your lines''
Re:with faster cars I would never take such lines, but with such a slow car 2 things that help lap time are keeping momentum as much as possible as everybody here knows already and the other one not going the long way on the normal racing line for no reason(just lengthening the distance covered at slow pace) when you don't have to if it doesn't result in more momentum for what's to follow. Cut short as much ground as possible if it doesn't compromise the exit speed.

Congrats for your perseverence on this one mate and much respect for your driving skills. You are equally deserving. I just had better luck with this one I guess.

Agreed, I really enjoyed it as well!

Looking forward to the next ones!

Cheers!

The (preliminary) good/bad/ugly for the upcoming (unless you're either in or have set your console's time zone to the eastern 1/4th of the planet) Weekly Challenges:

Good:
  • A special event that is not a one-make, which is also the first time the AI uses more than one make (yes, all 3 of the Honda Civic Type R (EK) variants are eligible for that one-make, but all the AI drivers use the Touring Car)
  • 2 events that were freshly released in the previous update
  • New(er) content (based on online footage so far, the Toyota GR Corolla and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III) in the Mount Panorama Japanese 4WD Challenge
Bad:
  • An estimated race time of 49 minutes on normal difficulty and not overpowering the AI with trick tunes
  • Between 645,000 Cr. and 817,500 Cr. in guaranteed Cr. for wins (depending on getting CRBs), one of the worst guarantees
  • A measly 5-star ticket as the non-credit prize
Ugly:
  • The first repeated Weekly Challenge event - the Trial Mountain American Clubman Cup was in the 2/8-2/14 Weekly Challenge, and like that appearance, there is no new(er) content.

the good 👍👍

the bad ain't that bad in my view as long as you get at least 500k with the 5*ticket or even better 1mil, then it's good. I'll speak for myself but if I get a non-wanted invite or useless part, or duplicate car I can sell for peanuts...I agree it could mean disappointment.

the ugly: nothing more to add!

The odds are you (and me, and the rest of us) will be disappointed. The guaranteed "good" prizes from a 5-star are 500,000 Cr. (13% chance), a car worth at least 480,000 Cr. at Brand Central (7% chance, though some sometimes resell for under 200,000 Cr. while others are a multi-million-Cr. gold mine) and 1,000,000 Cr. (1% chance). Most likely, you'll get 100,000 Cr. (36% chance).

I think it's absolutely bannanas that there's a random element to the prizes for these things. Why? I mean why should one person put in the time and come out with a million credits while somebody else puts in the same time and comes out with 600K or whatever? Just make it a cash prize...and it should be at least 1.5 million.
