I think it's absolutely bannanas that there's a random element to the prizes for these things. Why? I mean why should one person put in the time and come out with a million credits while somebody else puts in the same time and comes out with 600K or whatever? Just make it a cash prize...and it should be at least 1.5 million.
This. I have never understood the reasoning of PD for this.

This week's Challenges:

  • Sunday Cup Tsukuba (used the 700 pp Audti TTS for overkill)
  • Japanese 4WD 600 pp Bathurst (Evo 9)
  • (New): Tourist Trophy Audi TT Race at Nurburgring Sprint (700 pp Audi TTS)

  • American Car 700 Trial Mountain (Viper GTS '13)
  • World Touring Car 800 High Speed Ring (Genesis X Berlinetta VGT)

In order:
Group A RS500, LHD R35 '17, stock TT '14 on RS tyres, Group A RS500, RB25(a couple superfast rain clouds but no wet surface in my race).

All good circuits.

Finally got back to doing my 1 remaining race before the events switched over for next week - the Gr.1 Prototype @ Daytona Road Course

Ran the Mazda LM 55 which I already had tuned to 950pp in my garage.

As others have said it was fairly straightforward. Used a 2-pit strategy with RS tires throughout. 4 laps on FM3 and then 2 stints of 3 laps each on FM1. Won by 10 seconds.

Got an LFA for my troubles, which seems to be the lower end of the prize Spectrum, but I like the car.

This week cars.

Last night I completed 3 out of those 5 weekly races.

  • Sunday Cup at Tsukuba: Golf GTi '83. Fully tuned (no engine swap). Easy CRB win.
  • Japanese 4wd at Mount Panorama: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Another easy win.
  • Tourist Trophy - Audi TT '03. P2. Are those Audis tuned? I thought I heard some of them with muffler or racing exhaust sounds...

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Audi Duty Time

Having moved into their new Friday slot, the new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are becoming available around the world as midnight advances westward...
Has anyone finished all of the weekly challenges? I just finished them all in 1st and didn't receive any tickets. It says they're acquired but they're not in my garage. I received the daily workout and that's it. New member and didn't know where to ask. Thanks in advance.

This is a bug that keeps cropping up over and over again. It only affects some people some of the time, and the only known guaranteed cause of it is manually adjusting your console's time zone - but other people affected by it have not done that.

And there's no solution either, sadly.

Yea I was afraid of that. Thanks for replying.

On the bright side, at least it's a cheap week you're missing out on - 5* most likely to give 100,000cr, so just 400,000cr in total. Imagine being one of the people who missed out on the 6* Car ticket, which usually awards cars worth 1m-3m... :|
Absolutely. I've completed several of these weekly challenges and this is the first issue I've had. Didn't experience any issues with menu books thankfully. I'm down to the last 2 of those. The formula and Red Bull ones.

100K is not a bad prize not good either but I'll just put into grinding another F1.
Yeah that's the thing right? I mean to me, there's a sort of basic calculation to be made - a simple "credits/hour" deal. Basically I can make 1.5 million credits running one of the grind races for an hour. So these weekly challenges mostly seem pointless to me. They take pretty much an hour...or more if you need to spend a bit of time tuning a car or something for one of the races. It's not like they are remarkably unique events or anything. I mean sure you can say "well it's nice to have some different events to do" but the point is just why not make them pay at least what I can make from grinding?? Like what's the thinking here on PD's part? Would it cause some sort of problem if the weeklies paid a sure 1.5 million for doing all 5? They could make them really interesting by making one of the prizes an invite ticket or maybe a legends car or something.

As it is I generally pick the easiest event and run it as quick as possible and collect the 100K and I'm done. Today it was the Sunday Cup at Tsukuba. Took less than 5 minutes in the Evo IX for 132K credits. Even that isn't quite "grind money" but it's close...

PD certianly though along the line "our players wont do anything unless they have a chance of something shiny, so just implement the next option to gain a ticket".
At least these weekly challenges give a small reason to use other cars on other events that previously no one has even looked at after completing them once.
But then just stop looking at rewards and simply drive, play, enjoy it and ignore the money of the game.
Unless you want to collect all cars of which you dont use 97.5% then the problem is only made up mentally.

I repeat myself when I say: scrap the tickets, remove them, not necessary, bing people magically have more fun because less frustration of not recieving the largest price possible.

5 minutes for 132k is less than 825k in 25 minutes, as this equals 165k per 5 minutes, and considering less restarting or hovering over menus it is even more.
With your own words: why did you even bother?

yes yes I realize all of that. But if the credits don't matter, why not just set up your own custom races however you want? What's the appeal of the weeklies at all? All I'm saying is if we are going to have a weekly set of events like this, why not have them provide a real enticing reward? You know, generate some excitement rather than cheaping out and having people like me saying "what's the point?"

I feel similarly about the weekly time trials. I can get the silver million fairly easily. Less than an hour for sure. Gold is a real challenge and it's going to take me well over an hour (probably multiple hours) every time. But at least with those we have the community competition aspect that adds an element of fun to the process.

I bother with the one race because it's a short enough period of time that I don't even care really. If there was a race that short that paid that 132K in the normal events I'd run it a lot because I don't always want to sit and commit the 26 minutes to Sardegna...(and yes I do have the goal of collecting all the cars in mind. I mean it is a part of the game and one of the ways progress is tracked and I actually like taking different cars out for hotlapping)

PD certianly though along the line "our players wont do anything unless they have a chance of something shiny, so just implement the next option to gain a ticket". -- well PD built the game's economy...they've trained us to want the shiny things.

That is up to everyone for him/herself.
Some people fall for stuff dangled in front and others are pretty much "immune" to outside interefence on what they shall find entertaining.
If it was trained behaviour any such FOMO mobile game wouldnt work from the scratch as it could never keep the playerbase that is not yet trained, instead it is a sort of instinct that modern society falls for because "limited offer", in the same way as I find it hard to understand how TV shopping actually survives.

Because it takes time. I do it from time to time when I don't feel like doing the TTs or I have finished the weeklies.

Plus I am not very good at creating entertaining custom races.
What's the appeal of the weeklies at all?
Sometimes it is the special event, which is new content. Sometimes it is the occasion to use one of the new cars on events I already completed, with some added bonus in terms of rewards.

And most of the time, the reward for completing all is enough for me.

And sometimes, it pushes me to do an event I haven't completed yet, so win-win.

I agree that rewards could be greater. (I am all for leveling the rewards all across the board to match the big 3)

I appreciate TTs, mostly for the community aspect of it (thanks to this forum, not PD), and if I am able to get into silver relatively easily most of the time, it is much harder to reach gold without spending too much time. Credit wise it is not very rewarding, but as I don't care anymore about credits, the fact that it is enjoyable and motivating is enough.

I am done with that, only missing 2 invite cars, maybe one day. And my piggy bank grows slowly but surely with TTs, tickets (when they deliver) and rewards from weeklies + normal race prizes.

Done the 4 first weeklies at lunchbreak. Was entertaining. Maybe a bit overkill with some car choices.

Did the HSR 20 lap race yesterday with the Valkyrie. I was surprised that at FM6 that I was able to get 16 laps. My tires didn't make it that far unfortunately, they got to about 10 laps. It was an easy race but it was very fun. High Speed Ring is a good track for the Valkyrie. I might have to go back and do this race again

Awesome that you're done with the car collecting. I hope to be there someday in the not too distant future. I wish it didn't have to take so long or be such a grind.

This is just an "intellectual debate." Ultimately it doesn't matter to me...I'll just do what I do how I want to do it. I'm just asking the question is all. I just find it strange that there's these missed opportunities to provide some fun rewards for players (like for instance "Invite Tickets") ...but instead we get odd (and it seems lately, diminishing) returns.

This week was pretty decent, myabe my report below can help others with their car choice.

Sunday Cup Classic - Stock Citreon DS 21 - 3rd
Needed some better brakes/suspension to get 1st

Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 - Stock Subaru 22B - 1st
Car was just a bit too good for a closer finish with the AI
20970811272789639.jpg

Tourist Trophy - Maxed out TTS - 1st
Any of the 3 cars stock aren't going to win this, but the maxed out version swept the floor in the first lap
20970697019427650.jpg

American Clubman Cup 700 - stock Dodge Challenger Demon - 1st
This car is just a straight line monster, got 1st by the start of the 4th lap, could do with some better suspension and brakes
20970442434045432.jpg

World Touring Car 800 - 800pp Dodge Viper GTS '02 - 1st
Race was pretty wet from lap 3 to the end, Nice car that rivals the gr.3 any where with my tune

I'm going to go back and get the crb. This car is absolutely a meta in stock form. Everywhere I use it it completely destroys the field. I haven't even tuned it. SS tires is all. Snow tires as well because it does the same in the snow... give it a try! Super fun. Also. Pp533.
