I did the Suzuka race today with an F40 on SS tires (pp 625ish) and it's a bruiser but the Ferrari has the speed. I think if I were a little better driver with that car it would be pretty easy but I didn't quite have it dialed. Maybe someone in here that's better and more familiar with it could do it on SH tires for the win at 600pp...
I ran it with SM tires only and was 3 seconds behind Gallo in the end. Ran a couple 2:15 laps in there but couldn’t get ahead of Gallo to get him trapped in traffic. The F40 is a really good car. Just the right balance of slip and grip. Maybe if I grinded it out for an hour I could win it with Medium tires only, but I’m not going to do that.

Edit: Tried it with the Enzo swap and sport mediums. It’s about the same but less controllable. Too much instant torque with the Enzo engine. The F40’s turbo lag is a natural traction control and keeps the back end under control.

Edit 2: Ran St. Croix in a stock M2 Competition with RH tires only. 591.20pp. Won it on the first try. With some grinding a set of SS tires may be able to do it.

I have waited until last day, occupied with Le Mans TT.
So here we go.

Race 1 - R4 - tuned it to 318PP and put some simple my livery. Finished first with CRB, 90k from race and 100k from ticket.

Race 2 - SLR McLaren '09 - only put SS, make some mistakes and twice run off track, but it was enough for third place.

Race 3 - F12berlinetta '12 - fast but not easy to handle, again few runs out of the track and came third, got the 150k ticket (and 6 stars for daily marathon)

Race 4 - CTR3' 07 - don't know/like the track, but somehow I managed to win this one!

Race 5 - UPDATE: LM55 VGT as a @330_D said, cure for this race, even with few penalties, including 3s for cutting pit lane, which I don't see at Daytona!

Lm55 is an easy win for the GR1 race... if you have one.

I checked the UCD and brand central last night (UK) and it wasn't there, I can't complete the weekly challenge now. Some great game design :banghead:
It has always been this way, just that these weekly challenges have been added later.
Which means: if there is an announcement of new cars you should know they will propably only available for a week or two.

Yesterday night, I did all the events and the goal was to win every event+CRB with cars that were completely bone stock and no upgraded tires either.

1st event took quite a few tried lets says, a bit of figuring out, a lot of frustrations because of cars that were always in the way causing trafic and slowing me down at the apex so I wasn't able to keep the momentum of the car going and a lot of 🤬!!! 😂
Car is soooooooo slooooooow I couldn't managed to stay focus at first and memorize what I had to do so I was putting tires on the grass too often on exit as well trying to avoid the other cars. So I managed to finish 6th, reset, 6th, reset, reset, reset, 5th, reset (5-6x), 4th, 4th, 4th, 1st.
With a stock car, this one felt like an event straight from Mission Challenge.

It took me more time to win the 1st event(no CRB) than to win all 4 others with CRB.

2nd race with F430 at Suzuka felt like I was driving on ice and finished 2nd on my 1st try!!!??? ...I was right behind 1st place after lap 3 and was trying my best to get the CRB all along but then Gallo got on steroids in the Giulia and just took off in random fashion, I couldn't even keep up in the straights, not even close! On 2nd try, I passed him on lap 1 in the esses and never saw him again for some reason, was 1st at the end of lap 2 and I finished with a 26 seconds lead!!!???!!! odd. (CRB)
I read in this thread that something very similar happened to another member too.

3rd race on 1st try and CRB, the GT3 RS literally felt like a cheat code 😂

4th at Barcelona on 1st try+CRB with Ferrari 458 car felt very predictable and made the job easy...I was running circles around other cars, still very enjoyable.

5th race at Daytona with Super Formula since I really wanted to finish asap and go to sleep by then, had to restart twice total because I spun on cold tires in turn 1 on 1st try(ok my bad for that one) and then on 2nd try(suddenly lost all the grip on lap 3 and tires were maybe 10-15% used)...car became suddenly undriveable understeering on entry like the suspension was broken and spinning on exit as if tires were shot...I did momentarily set the fuel map at 6, tried to overgear by 1 and 2 and it made no difference at all, made completely no sense!
Another random and odd experience. Right after that I finished 1st on first completion of the race(so 3rd try overall) with no CRB and I got the lead at lap 9, so I did it again a second time to get the win+CRB, I was leading at the end of lap 5 before pitting for fuel. With the Super Formula, it is really easy, so I will try with a real Gr1 car next time.

This whole experience yesterday leaves me wondering about the unexpected irregularities I encountered in event #2 and 5, but none the less it was lets say interesting/entertaining for me to do. 😂

6* ticket won the '08 GT 500 RCF

So many people tried this without success. You definitely have to explain how you finally got in the lead ...:bowdown:

you absolutely have to be able to get in the lead on the last lap before the last straight otherwise you're done.
Then you have to drive with your mirrors to defend/ block a bit and kill their momentum and it's hard to achieve because they try to attack you on both sides with 1 car on each side, keeping it to the right or middle seems to be the best strategy for me, then last curve you have to brake very late, tight apex upshift to 3rd early and use all the track on exit and it will leave you with enough speed.

What else I remember? you have to use some odd lines in some places to be able to keep momentum. Don't weave like them when following, it's next to useless to try to draft unless you are very very close behind and for some reason it seems to work better downhill...you're better off keeping it straight and stick to the shortest line most of the time between long and fast successive corners.

another key on lap 1 you have to take the first corners before the uphill in 3rd flat out(or with very minimal lift depending on trafic and where you can place the car) avoid the outside curb at the bottom of the uphill, pass that 1st car on the outside in turn 1 or 2 depending on the draw you get and 2 more in the 1st uphill or at least be right behind them. Your minimum speed in the uphill must not go under 62-63 for that and stay in 3rd gear uphill.

After the downhill, right curve flat out in 4th.

Often 1 gear over what the game suggests in many of the corners so use 4th as much as you can for the 1st 2 long right hand corners. The 1st one can be taken flat out like I said. The second one you have to coast and scrub and downshift to 3rd at some point around mid corner but staying in 4th with the right inputs seems to work as well.

2 left ones you can take in 3rd(instead of 2nd) where you can catch up and that will leave you with enough momentum to pass on exit or at least somewhat keep up in the straights. Keeping momentum in the curve before the long backstraight is key.

Fast right hander before east hairpin, keep it in 3rd intentionally for longer and upshift to 4th at 102.

Shift points...I can't remember everything since I tried so many things but 3rd to 4th at 101-102kph(unless going downhill when it's more forgiving), sorry I don't want to say anything that would send someone in the wrong direction for the other gear changes, I'd have to redo it. Time is my enemy right now, but if I can manage to find time to do it again before the event ends or if some more details comeback to mind, I will gladly update this post(updated)

PS4, DS4, no VR, old as sh TV. 3D headphones or tv sound made no difference in term of feedback for that one.

Hope that helps a little 🙂

Last night was the first chance i've had to play since they were added, its a shame but is what it is. It is annoying that they wouldn't leave the new cars for the duration of the weekly challenge if its needed, it's a 'weekly' (I'm assuming friday to friday?) challenge but in this case not because while the challenge is still live, if you start it today (or yesterday like i did) you can't complete it.
Just make it a habit to buy cars that hit the UCD and the LCD as soon as they hit. They will almost always show up in the weeklies one week later.
Will try and remember that.
I guess he means the new Renault, its the only car i think that if you don't have it , can't complete Weekly Races .
On the other hand was there days ago and cheap also.
And missing a 6* ticket isn't a big deal anyway.
Yep the Renault.

I haven't had the game for that long and rarely have time to play it for more than 1hr a time so any ticket helps really.

I had VGT one.
Thanks a lot friend!

I have updated my post:

Yeah, I'd like to see how it was done. I can see taking the opponents out, but no CRB there. Doing it with the CRB is insanity.

GR010 - Daytona

I got some time to do the final weekly at Daytona. I used the GR010 for this one and found it to be an exercise in frustration, but ultimately still fun. I have little time in this car, and am by no means quick at Daytona. I'm just recently coming around to liking racing here. I made a quick n' dirty (still 2hrs!) Castrol livery for it to make it uniquely mine, and headed out.

The GR010 is just never settled at slow speed. The moment I think I can push it the more it slaps my hand. It is so easy to push it into uncatchable oversteer and end a race. I attempted this one three or four times because of it suddenly just coming around on me (no TCS). Even going up a gear early to try and bog it down didn't work. I don't know if its EV component makes for instant torque or something (I don't have the DRS/boost function mapped to my wheel), but I had to handle it with kid gloves and use a lot of patience on corner exit, which made me super slow coming out of the bends most of the time.

I was running it on the modified low-rpm turbo (896PP) at fuel map 4 after taking 3rd on the stock turbo. It can probably be done stock fairly easily, but I didn't have a lot of time to play around with things. Lap times hovered in the 1:31-1:32s, which is on pace for real world LMP1 cars (I actually watched some IRL laps where the drivers complained about all of the infield corners like a lack of grip, unusual apexes, bumps etc., and I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking Daytona is a little weird and hard to tame), but I don't think I'm fast here by any means... there's still a whole lotta time left out there.

4th place can easily be had in a couple laps, but the top three are the ones to beat. In this one the R92 ended up being the main competitor and even though he was easy to chase down and pass, he stuck to me for the remainder of the race. Keeps me honest, but is still a dumb mechanic. I also had the fastest lap of the race (1:31.5), but then Solis ran a random 1:29.9 at the very end... I wish GT7 could just be consistent with how the AI acts and not do all this rubber banding BS.

All in all while it was a challenge it was also fun and rewarding to make it through the race with a win and control over the GR010.

Any minute now we should know what next weeks races bring! Hopefully good stuff!

Me too. What I imagine is, it's been one of these random races that happen once in a while, where the AI takes themselves out or similar.

@FlightSpeed_
You're perfectly right with everything you describe above 👍 ... I did exactly that. However I never got closer than two seconds to the top two or three cars let alone in a position to overtake them.

Well 1st much respect to you because even finishing 3rd or even close to 1st or 2nd with a stock car is an achievement, in my view, with this one.

I'm sure you can do it, there is plenty more time to find I'm pretty sure.

There are many many guys, like REAL crazy aliens that are way better than me in the weekly TT's... which is where I spend most of my limited time, maybe the can share some inputs if they done the weekly challenges.

If it's not too late when I get home later tonight, I will try my best to do it again and post a replay.

But I absolutely agree with the fact that sometimes you might get an easier draw, sometimes tougher ones, so maybe I just got a bit lucky, IDK.

From what I can remember 1st split had to be 1:11.xx or lower. I once even managed to take 1st place in the uphill on lap 2 but made a driving mistake that cost me later...so it is doable/repeatable IMO. best lap time was 3:25.xx. Total around 6.52.xx.

Ok I done a few runs just now and I managed to finish 1st with a CRB.

(Prior to that race I had finished second with a 6:53.xx as well, with exactly the same mix of cars)

This 1st lap was absolutely horrible at 1:30.xx compared to 3:27.xx usually. I had chosen to experiment something different at 3 different places throughout that 1st lap with no success(missed 1 apex because of it and took a curve in 4th instead of 3rd but didn't turn out too catastrophic)

2nd lap 3:25.xx (and made a few slight mistakes)
with 1st split 1:10.505
I'd say an ok lap.

total time 6:55.xx for the win and definitely not my cleanest one, but still it gives a rough idea ☺️

By no means my best run in terms of total time or lap times, but it proves it's still repeatable without the other cars taking themselves out either.

As mentioned earlier, I hyper-fixated on this week's Suzuka Event.

My personal goal was to run this race in stock hyper cars. I cared more about bench marking cars in their stock configurations. This is newish territory for me because usually, I grab a car and immediately rip the seats out and bolt turbos on and optimize until I get 550 / 600PP.

IMO with enough patience, I can win comfortably in stock cars around 630~650PP.

The Suzuka Euro Clubman 600PP Wall of Pain (and Victory):

Gallo WIll Not Get Away.jpg

I done multiple runs in most of these cars. That implies that I've run this race 40+ times, now that I've stopped and thought about it. Oh god...

Cool Wall.jpg

1. Ferrari 458 Italia - 612.73PP - Win, but barely
OK handling, good initial front bite, great top speed and acceleration. But the tires give up and the front washes out quickly once you go over the grip limit. It's as if someone switches off all the fun the moment you hit the apex. Annoyingly slippery when asked to accelerate hard out of slower corners. It felt like winning needed both skill and luck. This car made me hate Sports Hard tires. Unfortunate that this was the car that I started this journey with.

Little Hero.jpg

2. Jaaaaag Xj220 - 592.62PP - 2nd place (by 0.191 :indiff: )
I really, really wanted a win in this car, but I couldn't manage it. The handling was great, traction was very good, but it needs more power and less turbo lag. I may revisit this.

Did Not Win.jpg

3. Aston Martin Valkyrie - 842.07PP - Obliteration by Orbital Bombardment (43 seconds)
Sketchy, twitchy, overpowered open wheeler handling, but it just walks all over everyone, everywhere, all the time. This car feels way better on the stock Sports Softs than it does on Racing Hards from that painful time trial at the Red Bull Ring a while ago. Press overtake on the straights for the lulz.

Aston Trackday Beatdown.jpg

4. Lamborghini Veneno - 687.30PP - Comfy Win (9 seconds)
It's a squishy, AWD prototype. I LOVE it. Beware oversteer on trail braking. Drive it as if were a Gr.B rally car with more downforce. Find the apex, line the car up and stomp the throttle. *Chef's Kiss.

Veneno Chase Down.jpg

5. Bugatti Chiron - 696.39PP - Very Comfy Win (15 seconds)
It's a house. But it is very fast house with a learning curve. Cornering is surprisingly good and there's good grip considering how heavy it is. Braking distances are predictably far. For slow corners, 2nd gear is too short and 3rd is too tall. Same problem as the stock Veyron. Gallo wins on initial acceleration (because of course he does...), but you annihilate him and everyone else after 100mph. You'll get oversteer and wheelspin if you're too happy with the throttle, but who cares, 1400hp AWD

6. Aston Martin Vulcan 754.21PP - Beatdown with a Blunt Object (29 seconds)
This is my sworn enemy from the Hyper Car Parade. It comes with RH tires standard. It's a Gr.3 car with more power and more downforce and is just as annoying to drive as those. Grip. grip, grip until annoying exit oversteer in mid speed corners exactly as you hit the top of the rev range 🙄. Otherwise, racecar pretending to be a roadcar. I know what I said about the Veneno. I don't care. The Veneno gets a pass because it's actually fun to drive.

7. Jaaaaag VGT Coupe - 761.72PP - Electrically Overpowered Spanking from the Fuuuuture (17 seconds)
Veyron power. AWD. 1000 pounds lighter. Electric Insta-torque. It still feels heavy under braking. You need some throttle management up to 80mph, and then you can Gorilla stomp the accelerator. It looks cool and sounds cool, but is ultimately forgottable for me.

Racing Homes.jpg

8. Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 - 625.48PP - Hustle Win (1 second)
Super fun car. Playful, grippy. Like an Audi R8, but more raw (because that's what it is...). You can use the brakes to point the nose where you want. Lots of oversteer if you're not familair with Lamborghini oversteer on trail braking. Needs more power / driver skill for a comfy win. Outclasses everyone in the corners though, IMO.

9. Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 - 622.85PP - Hustle Win (5 seconds)
Fun and playful again. Heavier and more civilized Hurican.

10. Lamborghini Diablo GT - 598.71PP 4th place (10 seconds behind Gallo)
Among the best handling stock cars on Sports Hard tires, IMO. Grip everywhere. The nose goes exactly where you tell it to. It's just slooooow in a straight line compared to Gallo's nonsense.

11.Lamborghini Aventador LP 760-4 sv - 657.72PP - Comfy Win (11 seconds)
Attack, Attack. Attack. AWD, Power. Downforce. Grip. Sports Medium tires stock. Like the Veneno and Huracan, but just better in every way. So yeah, I'm a Lamborghini fan now...

Great Lambo Gathering.jpg

12. Pagani Huayra - 674.78PP - Comfy Win (8 seconds)
Playful, yet composed. Needs care when accelerating out of low-speed corners, but feels more rewarding because of the chassis. Remember, it has AMG levels of torque. Great chassis - mostly neutral. The class of the field when it gets up to top speed. I just wish it were faster in the corners. Ultra capable cruiser.

Pagani Cruiser.jpg

13. Alpine VGT - 678.48PP - The Weirdo gets a comfy win (16 seconds)
WEIRD car. Good initial bite, great grip, surprising top speed, but understeery. The car does some sort of automatic-reving that may or may not be causing mid-corner understeer. I think an update added more late-turn power-on oversteer, unfortunately. Kinda unpredictable driving experience. It's no longer the point and shoot car that I remember. But itl weighs nothing, and it pays the PP penalty for that. I still like it because I am also weird.

14. Porsche Taycan Turbo - Maximum Hustle Win + PD Trolling 600.84PP ()
It's also a house. Alarmingly, it's an even heavier house than the Chiron. Even though it makes infinity torque from 0rpm, it's annoyingly slow compared to Gallo, AND it hits its top speed / rev limiter just around 160mph. I love the car though. Good cornering speeds, good manuerability, when your are precise. Overstep the grip limit and you really fall off the track, though. Try to keep your revs up for slow corners because it likes to kick down to the lower gear (it has 2!!) and overwhelm the tires at the hairpin. You get awesome 4-wheel drifts through there and other slow corners if you're brave and brutish with the throttle.

Eletric Advantage.jpg

15. Porsche 911 GT3 RS 991 '16 - 627.60PP Hustle Win
Attack, attack, attack. OK to average on the straights, but who cares when it corners so well. Engaging and neutral mostly, but you can tell it's still rear engined at the limit. You can use that to your advantage, but if you come into a corner too hot and turn hard, the car will bite you. In my mind, this and the Aventador LP 750-4 SV are track pals. Love them both dearly.

You don't need to be. Your console records everything that it sees. You can press/hold the Share/Create button to take a screenshot at any time, and if you happen to miss the opportunity you can just press it and select how much of the last hour's worth of gameplay you want to save - then take the screenshot from the video.
