Alsace: I don't think I've ever driven that track before. But I put CS tires on the car and that made up for any deficiencies in my knowledge -- at least enough to come away with a P3.

Suzuka: I hadn't driven the Cayman yet. I put SS tires on it because I thought the track might need it. It's a nice drive, that car. I had no trouble working my way up to the front of field, but it took until the final lap for me to catch up to the lead car, Gallo in the Alfa GTAm. Went right by him in the esses. But on the back straight out of Spoon, he shot past like a rocket. I had no chance of catching him. Finished P2.

Catalunya: First time driving the Enzo, too. I upgraded the tires to SS on this one, too. It's a good thing I did because I was still having trouble stopping at some of the sharper corners. Easy win on that one.

St Croix: Another first drive, and another tire upgrade. This car is so smooth. I felt like I floating over the track. Easy win.

Daytona: I remember this race being so much harder to win this first time I tried it. Today, I had no trouble. I ran on RMs, short-shifted at around 3/4 of the rev bar to save enough fuel to make it 5 laps. Pitted only for fuel. Won by 12s.

Here's what I won on the car ticket:

Okay, continuing with the second account:

Race 3 at Catalunya - Ferrari 308 GTB ‘75 - 599.95pp. 2nd place. Same build as what I used at Suzuka. Only ran it once but was 1.6 seconds behind the F8 at the finish line. I would imagine a second or 3rd go at this would make it a winner. Considering the F8 has over 700hp and this is a “recommended 700pp” race, I think the little 600pp 308 and its 265hp did pretty well.

Race 4 at St. Croix - Porsche 911 GT3 ‘09 - 700.00pp - Total dominance with this car. Kind of dumb actually. Took the lead on the back straight of lap 2 and never looked back. Won by over 20 seconds. Probably could have taken a 600pp car out and been more competitive.

Race 5 at Daytona - Mazda 787B ‘91 - 896.46pp - Great race! Even though this is a chase the rabbit race I got up to 3rd place and only a couple seconds behind first by the time I pitted (end of lap 6) then had to make up another 26 seconds after my pit stop. Ran Racing Medium tires and FM5 through the infield on the first stint then Racing Soft tires with FM3 on the infield for the second stint. Passed Kokubun in his 787B on the brakes into the bus stop on the last lap. He had the inside line and got ahead of me on the exit of the bus stop but I had better acceleration out of it and took the lead back into the final banking. Won the race by .673 seconds. Really close race. Though I remember Gallo in his R92CP being the OP AI car of this race. Maybe PD made some adjustments in the various updates to which AI opponent is the meta, but in the end it was I who prevailed. Fastest lap of 1:32.022.

BTW, I'm the one who is still on the track. Kokubun is out mowing the lawn. Surprisingly he got no penalty, nor had any loss of traction. That guy is good.

Edit: My 4* daily marathon ticket from the other day gave me a Gr.3 BMW M6 Endurance. Awesome! The daily Marathon ticket I got today was a 6* and it gave me 1 million credits. Woo Hoo! And the 6* car ticket for the weekly races gave me an Aston Martin Vulcan. Hot damn! That moved me up to Level 49 on my car collection for this account. Just a couple thousand more collector points and I got level 50. Not bad for only having bought 13 cars myself.

Man I really love the weekly’s! Granted I do them in VR so it makes it even better but they are fun! How fun is the R4?!? What had me cracking up about that car is, when I drive if the car is manual I will use my shifter with clutch. I didn't know how many gears the car had so while in VR I had to look over at the shifter and read how many gears the car had. I also kept reaching way higher for the shifter because of the position the R4 shifter in.. resulting missing my actual shifter lol.

I used my stock Ferrari Enzo on CS tires for the European ClubmanCup 600 that race was fun battling Gallo in that fast GTAm! The Enzo is such an amazing car!

I used my F8 for the Ferrari challenge.. I don’t know I just don’t like the car doesn’t feel like a track car or even track capable, the power is crazy and its a handful keeping stable.

My 918 made easy work for the Schwarzwald league it’s always a pleasure to drive that machine!

The GR.1 race was my favorite! Daytona is a beautiful track and the GR010 Is crazy fun in VR! The cockpit view is amazing and those drivers are so lucky to use that machine! Can’t wait til next Friday!

Daytona- Used the Jaguar XJR-9 "88 With Racing Hards Fuel map 6 and pit once for fuel only. Had a 1 sec penalty and not the best driving. Won 1st place with a 4 sec lead. 6 Star ticket gave the Italdesign VGT Street mode which I didn't have so not bad.

Alsace / Special: fully tuned R4 with SS tyres(483 PP), very easy win

Suzuka / European Clubman: slightly tuned Testarossa with SM(599 PP). This Race took me a few tries with different cars(Mercedes 190 evo, Peugeot RCZ Gr3 road car)where I hardly reached the top 10, until I checked my settings and realized, that I am on hard difficulty. When i set it back to normal(my usual setting) I finisehd 3rd(5 seconds behind the winner) on my first try with the Testamonster...since Suzuka is not my favorite track, i settled with that(intresting side note: Gallo with the Alfa finished only second, Beauvois won in an Mercedes...)

Catalunya / Ferrari Challenge: used the same Testarossa again, this time with SS(617 PP), easy win

Saint Croix / Schwarzwald League :used an engine swapped and tuned up VW Golf MkI with SS tyres (683 PP), easy win

Daytona / Gr1 Prtotypes: used the Jaguar XJR-9(with high range turbo). This was the hardest race for me, since i don't like Gr1 machinery and I rarely ever drive them...I choose the XJR-9 because it's the only Gr1 car in my garage where i bothered to make a livery...needed about 20 restarts and switching back to easy difficulty to win(RHs, one stop strategy with FM5 and FM4)

R4 Turbo & swapped Golf GTI MkI

Winning in a stock 600pp car is out of the question at any skill level, IMO. The distance between you and the leaders is too far. There aren't enough laps. You start last. The A.I. blocks you, and your main opposition is vastly overpowered. I had to do unholy things in the name of PP optimization ( ) to get my fastest non-bugged 600pp car to win here.

This race could be a good excuse to explore stock hyper cars if you have them.

I strongly suspect a stock Valkyrie would curb stomp this event. The Aston Martin Vulcan should be strong here too - it has a lot of power and downforce, and I believe it comes with Racing Hard tires standard.
I'm glad to see I wasn't crazy thinking this race was unwinnable at 600pp.

I was able to take a 600pp Audi R8 4.2 '07 tune that I had in my garage with SM tires, upgrade the tires to SS and barely win at 615pp.

It was actually a pretty fun chase, and I had to run a near perfect race. I passed Gallo on the final chicane of lap 3 for the win.

I've only run a couple of races so far 'been pretty busy lately. Looking forward to the Ferrari race, gonna try it with a 512 BB, and it sounds like the Gr. 1 race will be a challenge as well

Main account runs:

Race 1 at Alsace - Reno R4 stock - 3rd place. I ran 3:28/3:28 and still lost by 6 seconds despite being 2 seconds behind the leader going into the straight to the final turn. Lots of rubber banding on this race. Doesn’t really matter. Not going to upgrade this car until some crazy engine swap comes out for it.

Race 2 at Suzuka - BMW M3 ‘89 (640.98pp) - First Place. Engine swapped and on racing hard tires. Super easy race. Won on first try. After messing with the Ferrari 308 for so long on the other account I wanted something easy this time.

Race 3 at Catalunya - Ferrari F12berlinetta ‘12 (stock) - 2nd place. Not a bad car. I had never driven this car. 0 miles on it. I was pleasantly surprised with its throttle response and how controllable the wheel spin is with this car even with traction control turned off. Great straight line acceleration, good brakes. Turn in was good, pretty neutral handling. I may be inspired to put some upgrades on this car and see if it is good as a 700pp race car.

Thats all for tonight. I'll get the last 2 races done another night.

Now that ended up being a rewarding set of races.
Special was fun but wobbly.
Suzaka was pretty easy with the Veneno but really need to tame the instability under braking I have with it even with significant front brake balance.
Catalunya was easy in the Testarossa, built it for that menu book early on and it's still fast enough to get the job done.
Saint-Croix was a pain as I have no idea where certain bits of the track went but managed to cheese out a win in the 911 RSR19 detuned to 699 as just so much faster through the turns
Daytona was dome with the LM55, went fuel map 5 and ran through to the end of lap 7 before switching to map 1 to get me through for a decent win
And just like last time, the 6 star came through, thought it was about to give me a Super Formula car but it ticked over to the next one which was a Valkyrie which I didn't have.

Race 5 has been a struggle for me, until I found out a good combo of car (RB 25h anniversary) tyres (RS) setup (Praiano, but with lower wings to match the 950PP) e fuel saving (6 plus short shift here and there)

With this combo I was able to pit at end of lap 5, change tyres and refuel, and win with 2s

I have so little time lately that I just overkilled all of the races and made quick work for the credits. I prefer to match pp or shoot for a lower pp car that can win but I just don't have the time to spend this week messing with it. I did manage to grab all my tickets this week which makes it better. Last challenges I got robbed.

Race 1 - managed on the 2nd attempt to win using a stock car with Comfort Sorts. Tried it again for the €€€ but suddenly P1 and P2 were super fast.

Race 2 - Murciélago bone stock with SH tyres.

Race 3 - F50 bone stock SH

Race 4 - Recommended by someone here to try the Porsche 917K, 85% Power with Sports Softs. What a ride, bravely holding it flat out through the back straight's kink was thrilling.

Race 5 - Haven't actually done it yet, but I'll likely be taking the same McLaren VGT with Exeter GTs tune I used to win it last time.

I know the newly-added European Clubman 600 race at Suzuka doesn't have an enforced PP limit like the Ferrari Circuit Challenge, but in general, I do still like to try to get a car close to the recommended PP. So I was indeed able to get the 458 that I was planning to also use for the Ferrari Circuit Challenge down to below 600PP for the race at Suzuka. Granted, it took nearly maximizing the ballast and putting on Sport Hards, but still!

Finally made it ! :D

Won the R4 race with only CM tires added - no power parts, no N2O used, no other tuning. Ultimate pushing ...
Needed three attempts, then I could overtake Mosso after that wide uphill right-hander. From there on it was pure racecraft  to bring that victory home.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20240311170233.jpg

Realized later, there is still a bit left. Maybe tomorrow ...

I really like this round of events.

Usually, I hyper-fixate on the last event as those races are made more challenging via the A.I. getting bizarre powerups. It's less about overcoming a challenge, and more about my response to percieved unfairness - I absolutely must discover a way to smash my priviledged opposition into a fine paste - again, and again. I am totally not vindictive. Shame on you for thinking that!

I got two of those events this week!:scared:

Gr.1 at Daytona - Bugatti Vision GT GR.1
I had hoped for an easy win, but nope. 1st by less than a second after a bunch of restarts. I came back for more in the Alpine VGT Gr.1 with similar struggles. My fastest run came in a Sauber C9 - I beat the 2nd place Jaaaaag XJR-9 by 3 seconds. Unsurprisingly, I ran the Peugeot 905 HDi FAP overall 3 seconds slower, but I won by my widest margin: 9 seconds :boggled:
That is not a Bugatti.jpg

There's no Bugatti shot because that run got buried under a mountain of additional attempts.

Schwarzwald at Sainte-Croix - B - Audi TT
1st place beatdown in the recently added Audi TT, fully tuned, with Racing Softs and the Low RPM Turbo. The lack of power surprised me. Fun handling car though, IMO.

Everyone forgets the TT.jpg

Ferrari Challenge at Catalunya GP - Ferrari Dino 246 GT - Max tuned
I generally dislike Ferraris, but I make an exception for the Dino. It's a hero car for me because it taught me how to tune. This setup was made to run the Hypercar Parade. 1st place by A LOT with a smile on my face.

Dino the Hero.jpg

Euro Clubman 600 at Suzuka - Abarth 595 SS - K20 swapped (yes...)
Well, well. I've been a bit... busy with this event. But more on that will come in a following post, but for my first my car and results.
1st place by 13 seconds in a max tuned, K20 swapped Abarth 595. It accelerates almost as well as a Veyron, stopping distances are hilariously similar to a Chiron, and I only tipped it over once that hour. "576pp"

The Alfa Deserves This.jpg

Special Event: Renault R4 GTL at Alsace - :D
Would believe that before this round of weeklies, I maxed tuned one of these and tested it at the Clubman 600 at Suzuka? That went about as well as you might imagine. I love the car and Alsace is my benchmark course. Aside from being very confused because I didn't realize I was on the reverse layout until turn 3, it was a blowout. I got a, rare for me, clean race bonus with a surprisingly high payout. I considered grinding it, but I don't need the credits.

Micro Pitbull.jpg

I've been obsessively running the 600PP Clubman event in every hyper car. Stock. I haven't even opened my award tickets. Running this event in every hyper car and winning is more important!

I am running out of hyper cars...

So, PD decided my reward for completing the newest weekly challenges was....

A Delorean...

.
..
...

I'm done with this game for at least a week. See you next Tuesday.

Yeah, I'm beyond angry.
I got a delorean too! I just restarted the game and see what I get after the next update

Finally tried the GT1 race and used my LM55 like others have mentioned here. That is one fast car! Was in first by lap 6 but had to pit for fuel (was running on FM6,RH tires) . Zoned out and miscalculated my fuel. Was in the lead on the last lap but after the bus stop, ran out of fuel and coasted to the line. Gallo came whizzing by but I held on to second. I'll reattempt this for a win tomorrow.
Won a Honda VGT with the ticket.

I'm continuing the trend of not having time to play lately, but finally am getting around to posting a couple of the weeklies from the other day. I have done all but the Daytona race (tonight hopefully) so far.

I didn't record the R4 race, but it was more fun than expected. I tried 7 or so times to win in a stock car, but like many others was only able to get second and third place finishes. When I went back in my tuned R4 I passed all of them, waited until they all passed me, and passed them all again by the third corner. Bully mode.

I didn't record the Suzuka race either as it's the same one I posted a video of the other day. I used the same AMG GTR Black, but this time painted a nice jade green with some more carbon bits.

Ferrari 458 - Catalunya

I haven't driven the 458 that's been in my garage in a while now, so it got dusted off to warm it's blood up at Catalunya. It's stock with a front lip and some TE37s, and I think suspension (just to lower it). The 458 has always been a great drive, and it's poised to do whatever you want whether it be over, under or neutral steering. It does exacerbate GT7s way of not allowing any progression to slip angle and regaining grip, but it's still able to be slid around confidently if you're precise with your inputs. It provided a pretty easy win against some F8s, an F12 and a probably highly modified 512BB.

AMG GT S - St. Croix

I don't know about you all, but this layout of St. Croix has one of my favorite corner complexes in any driving game. The last section of corners near the end of the circuit are so awesome. When you come off the long back-straight and make the 90 degree right you then prepare for double-apex lefts, then a blind right that dips down into compression, then a spring back to the left again for the breakaway downhill that sweeps you all the way to the wall. Its such an exciting and rewarding section of tarmac... I love it.

The GT S ain't so bad either. It's much faster and more planted than I thought it would be, much like it's rowdier cousin the GT R Black. I made the Petronas livery on it a looong time ago and just never really drove it. Glad I did. This race also reminded me that the "regular" AMG GT R is in the game, so I went and bought one of those and hope to have a reason to drive it soon.

I still don't know what I'm going to drive at Daytona, but I've really come to like this place after not really caring about it for a long time, so I'm looking forward to it.

Happy racing!

To quote Matt Farah, "It takes A LOT of money to un-💩box something [a Delorean]." (15:22)

Or in our case, an engine swap and suspension tuning wakes it up. Still an ultra lame ticket prize.

The engine swapped DeLorean with some fine tuning and set somewhere around 700PP is one of the best rides in the game...can get much more PP, but then it is really hard to handle

I did the Suzuka race today with an F40 on SS tires (pp 625ish) and it's a bruiser but the Ferrari has the speed. I think if I were a little better driver with that car it would be pretty easy but I didn't quite have it dialed. Maybe someone in here that's better and more familiar with it could do it on SH tires for the win at 600pp...
