I used an Escudo for the Neo Classic and can not get anywhere near first like I have done several weeks ago.

Also used the NSX Rally Car for Catalunya dirt and it’s awful. Got to 3rd at final corner before the game reset me to 10th for some reason

So I took a page from @Greycap and fitted the Death Star sized turbos. The outcome was as expected [beatdown].
The main difference being that I didn't even use them in the end as they throw any engine drivability out of the window, the RS tyres were enough to make a difference. Now the Le Mans race a few weeks ago, that was a different story though... the R92CP shook so violently on the Hunaudiéres at almost 400 km/h that I had to keep two hands and a very firm grip on the wheel to a) keep it from disassembling itself and b) stay on the road. Thrustmaster T-GT II, FFB strength on 2, no kidding. I dont want to know how the high values would feel or what they'd do to the wheel internals.

Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day to all

Euro Sunday @ Sardegna.

The Great GT Demolition Derby @ Barcelona Rallycross.
(If anyone can get a clean race here...)

Silvia Sisters @ Deep Forest.
This Sileighty was not engine swap but highly tuned and was twitchy at high speed.

Neo-Classics @ Willow Springs.
Taking a page from @Moose78 as he mentions the McLaren MP4/4 and I had done just the same.

One Hour @ Bathurst.
This Audi may possibly be overkill but is the best handling and it can do the hour on RH tyres and FM6 nonstop. I posted setup on previous page.

Decent set of races other than Catalunya. lol
Started with the Sunday Cup with the same car I just used in the last one. This time it couldn't do the job. Barely got second (seen here beating Mikhail for second).

Demo Derby was next and I had to punt Valerio in the last turn to take second. It was payback for a move he put on me a few laps before.

Easy win at Deep Forest with this 400hp Silvia.

Then came Bathurst. My go-to WTC800 car was chosen. Unfortunately another second place. I had to go in for a splash and dash towards the end of the race. Gap was like 30 seconds. Had quite a few offs that were AI generated. lol

Willow Springs was an easy one in the 787 despite of again AI caused offs. No stopper for this car.

So all in all mostly a week of second-placers. lol

Clear the weeklies yesterday.
At the hateful dirt i come third but i can live with that 😂 .
I also dislike all Sylvia sisters, brothers races so with two out of five being in my dislike list , wasn't what i expect for this period.
And i guess everyone agree that having a 60 minutes race with 140k reward is 🤬

At Bathtub took my LM55 put RH and FM6 for a super lazy drive just to get the job done.
Here is the end of race just passing the second car in the final straight.
Tyres are still good and fuels are left for 5 more laps.

Happy new year's eve guys .

Reasonable selection of races, mostly because I enjoyed the time of day changes. Bathurst is obviously the highlight but the payout is so bad it's a one time deal, unfortunately too because that hour flew by and I really enjoyed it, even if I did win by basically a whole lap. The AI absolutely slows down over the course of the race, for the first 10 laps or so they're really quick but after that it's easy going. Willow is annoying if you don't use a Group C car, the Gr.2 McLaren was about 8 seconds off where I needed to be and restarting it over and over until the AI is slower didn't seem a lot of fun so I switched to a detuned Sauber C9. Rallycross has annoying track limit penalties given it has immovable tyre stacks which serve the same purpose, would love to see that as a special event with RWD only road cars or something. Silvia Sisters is the one where you can't really be anywhere near the suggested PP, still a fun race at least. Sunday Cup even went into the evening which always looks great at that track.

Cars of choice:

I enjoyed the Bathurst 1hr event, and wish there was a WTC 800 1hr enduro for every circuit. That said, 140,000 Cr. 1st prize for a 1hr event is outrageous.

I also got a 3* ticket for the Daily Marathon which paid out 5,000 Cr., and a 4* ticket for the NY login campaign, which paid out 30,000 Cr.

yeah that sucks. I used a 787b so it was an easy drive, but expected more. This game is and always will be stingy.

Even the daily reward I got for doing it skipped over a Lambo invite for connecting rods for a Volvo.

Not one of my favourite tracks, let alone for an hour.😄
I cheesed it with the '88 Jag XJR-9,fuel map 6,sometimes 1 to break it up a bit.Stopped for new RH tyres midway but maybe could,ve stretched it untill the end on one set.
For the dire payout I just wanted it done to get rhe 3rd ticket. If it was a better payout I would probably do it again with an equal class car. 👍

Thank God they didn't put......Eiger at 60 minutes race .
I can imagine the players after that kind like this

That 1 million Cr. ticket should be mandatory in every weekly challenges.
Most of the 6-star ticket (car) I earned from weekly challenges are mostly just a geared heavily towards giving me a duplicate, I just kept getting Super Formula cars and it's getting old fast, being a roulette spin and all yet it felt weirdly rigged and predictable to me.
It's the less than 6-star tickets that are actually worth a thrill and a ragebait.
Shame on the low reward of limited time 60 minutes race at Pano though, they could have easily thrown in another 1 million for completing but nope after 5 days we'll be back to either mindlessly grinding on few events with decent payouts or top up credits on PS Store.
Where the hell is the GT5 style log-in bonus and reward multiplier?

Extended vacation over the holidays meant, sure... why not? Used the Epson NSX for a cruise. Car is great and was a simple one stopper on RMs. Wasn't going for a challenge here but got one anyway. Not for P1 (lapped the field) but the AI still seemingly have no idea when I am next to them. Even with the blue flag waiving, I got clobbered into more than I could even count.

And, yea, 140k for an hour long race is insulting.

So here's my summary from the new challenges. Did all five yesterday in one session, ran a second 1h race at Mt. Panorama today.
And I guess I'll have some more attempts there soon with different cars.

I think there's nothing special to say about Event 1 at the Sardegna road track. Chose the stock Alpine A110 '17 just because it was there. 525 PP were more than enough to win the race and get the CRB.

As much as I like this twisty and tricky rally cross track, I hate racing there. Since I'm not able to stay clean anyway, I made short work of the competition on the first meters and brought it home. Shame on me. My car : a Subaru WRX with a big turbo.

WC_241227_03.jpg

Well, the Silvia Sisters. Competitive racing > 600 PP. So I instantly swapped a Chevy engine into a 1996 Silvia and went to track. It's been blood sweat and tears controlling that beast ... and tons of fun.

WC_241227_05.jpg

Event 4. Didn't we have the same race recently ? Went with my trusty R92CP, changed RM to RH tires to save a bit of PP and increased the power output instead. The no stop strategy brought a close win including the CRB.

I then took the Nissan straight to Mt. Panorama trying to just get it done. And the car didn't disappoint - of course. Although I made a pit stop halfway through the race, I was more than a lap ahead at the line.

WC_241227_06.jpg

For my second attempt today I picked the race spec Gallardo from @AlexWilmot . Great car ! RH tires and FM6, one stop after 29 minutes and a splash and dash for the final lap. Finishing first 30 seconds in front of the Ford GT LM.

Reinstalled the game just for the Bathurst 1 hour. There really should be a race like this on all the real tracks. Good fun but way too easy on normal difficulty, needed the Maggiore mission AI. Full blast 2-stop on softs, crawled around the last lap to avoid doing another and very nearly crossed the line too early.

I don't understand why this is the case, and it does make it harder to dial in the funnest tune for these drives.

Seems like the AI tend to use SH tires with a lot of power, which is fine, but I usually end up around 600 PP if I try to tune the same way and to be competitive enough to win.
