This is gonna be a good combo this week, I might have it all done my Sunday, we are expected to get 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow. A snowstorm is headed our way, so I better work on as much as I can tonight. I'll have to find a VGT car and a reliable Ferrari for Events 4 and 5. I need to focus and not make any mistakes this time, I want to get all the CRB's.

Lowered the difficulty and I have completed it. Didn't want to but between already putting off the video for one day and the races I have this weekend, I just wanted it done and dusted.

I have to admit that last weeks SF race was way more fun than this Ferrari race. Never thought I’d ever say that. Tried the F50 first, not even close then jumped into the 330 to win it. Didn’t want to use a race car for this. 😑

Well this was an eventful week of races.
Suzuka was in the Mazda Demio I used for a similar race at Autopolis some months ago. Mild tune on SS kept it right under the suggested. It was a fun race and came down to the last few turns v the Civic and Integra for the CRB win.

RBR was in my underpowered Pandem M3 on SS and under the suggested pp. Another fun race that went down the wire and another CRB win.

Watkins was in this monster which was just above the suggested on RS. I could have probably used RH to go under but wth.
It was a 40 second win. lol

VGT was in my trusty choice for these races, the Lexus. It was dicey for the first few laps because 1st place Blazsan was quick on the straights but once I overtook him on lap 4, I was able to hold on.

And we come to the big race at Fuji. Went with my first choice,Gr3 on RS and detuned. Was working my way up but had a solo spin in the 4th in the last sector. That dropped me down to 8th. I thought of restarting but decided to march on. Worked my way up and the last 2-3 laps were the fun ones. I'd catch up with 1 and 2 but they'd leave me behind on the straight. I was in second in the last lap with all three of us close to each other. Was able to take 1st in the second to last turn but I knew I wasn't going to win on the straight so I drove like an a-hole and started blocking second. Then third came past us right before the line! I'll take second.

Video of my blocking. lol

Forgot to mention I got a duplicate Genesis VGT so sold it.

Another fun group of races:
  • Japanese FF Challenge - Integra Type-R '95 🔰
  • European FR Challenge - 365 GTB4 🚫
  • American Clubman Cup - Charger SRT Hellcat 🚫
  • Vision GT Trophy - Ferrari VGT 🔰
  • Ferrari Challenge Special Event - F50 🚫
Forgot what I got from the part ticket, but I also got 5k from a 3⭐️ Daily and a dupe Honda VGT from the car ticket. Almost at 20mil again, just hope I can get it before the McLaren shows up.

I just tried on normal (was on hard before) and it's even worse 'cause now AI is even more unpredictable and also quite slow through the esses, so even more chances for crashing.

Just to clarify, my goal wasn't winning (I'm sure I could, but no point, I don't need the credits anymore), my goal was winning clean. (And I don't mean the CRB, I really mean clean, so absolutely no contact with opponents)
This event gave me anxiety and made me angry. And the more I try the more angry and nervous I get. When you're popping three Xanax just to calm down, there's something wrong. I'm not having fun and that's why I'm stopping here.
I'm not the best driver/player, I'm not the worst one but it looks like I'm just not good enough for realistic, clean racing, especially in fast cars with lots of down force. And while I do blame this on myself, I guess the rather unpredictable AI and the rubber banding in this game doesn't help either. Anyway, it is as it is and sometimes you just have to accept you're not good enough at something.
I hear ya on this. I want to win it, but at the same time, I also want to have clean races and attempt "realistic" overtaking maneuvers. Unfortunately, the nature of these "Chase the rabbit" races and starting in P20 (which means you'd need an OP car to make any sort of progress) and just 15 laps means that it will make clean racing much more trickier. With so little laps, it means you'd have to be much more aggressive and look for gaps that are sometimes closing and would never work in the realworld. Plus, the performance-delta of your car vs the cars you're chasing also means that you have to anticipate them going much slower in the corners and, as such, the chances of you making contact with them mid-corner is much higher. That's still the biggest issue I have with these AI races... that the structure of them essentially forces you to be ultra-aggressive with all your moves with an OP car. It is what it is, I suppose. 🤷‍♂️

I have an engine ticket sitting in my rewards box that I've been waiting for the next update to open. I opened it when I got it and it's for the Audi R5-20vT-Quattro-Pikes engine. There is only 1 car that it goes in to and I've already done the swap on another car. Complete waste of an engine ticket.
I had four, then realised none of them would be valid after the next likely update date... three of the four were one car engines I've already done, the other was a 2JZ. Bit meh!

Yes, you're absolutely correct here!
I guess this event indeed reminded me that there just is no realistic racing in single player. That's why I finally got a PS+ subscription 2 days ago so I can race online.

You might very well be, but when the opponents either are blind as bats or just don't care, and are way out of their skill league to drive such cars, the situation becomes the one we have. Racing people cleanly is much easier than the AI because you at least have some idea about how they're going to behave - nobody hits full brakes at the exit of a fast sweeper for example, like the AI very well can do. Or turn into you when you're already three quarters past them.

If real people in real races drove like the AI does, motor racing would have been banned decades ago thanks to the death toll being unbearable. Or at least there would be no teams left because nobody has money to rebuild totally wrecked cars after every race, simply as the result of someone ploughing into them without even trying to avoid the collision. Every time you see smoke from a contact in the game, that would be a race ending crash for both participants. More or less every AI passing situation in the race car classes is like that and they'll do just the same for you unless you're fast and/or smart enough to dodge it.

"This AI has been trained by Taki Inoue & Pastor Maldonado" 😄

The Ferrari race was miserable imho, I used an 02 Enzo, stock other than sports soft tyres (697pp). Basically it was a rocket on the straights and crap in corners, but it did both a bit faster than the AI, giving you 1st. Meh. I did try the group 4 and 3 cars (both fully upgraded I believe) but both got completely hammered on the straights. Enzo touches 200mph on the straight, hard to defend from that.

The VGT race was mostly uneventful, used the toyota F1 VGT thing which is well down on PP but the hybrid helps. Only odd thing was once behind the leader it appeared to veer completely across the track into my path whilst I was going faster, if it were another player you'd accuse them of blocking.

Watkins Glen I tried using an upgraded hellcat @663 on soft tyres, fast but not great in corners, SS Camaro '16 at 624 pp (just upgraded tyres I think) proved a much more effective weapon, if somewhat less dramatic.

Tickets gave me a turbo kit for an RX7 (already had it) and a Gr3 Nissan GTR

I used an engine swapped F40 for the Ferrari race on RH tires. It was 699pp. Not a bad car, but the front end grip was pretty weak for the higher speed corners. Took the lead on the last corner of the last lap. Won but 3/10’s of a second.

The other races aren’t even worth talking about. Won and got my tickets.

I think he's asking which ones can WIN in stock format... @BLACK86 you'll be looking at the higher powered cars like the f12 berlinetta, f8 tributo, Enzo, la ferrari etc.
Yes! You understood the question correctly! Even though it was written wrong. I tried with the berlinetta but couldn't make it to the top 3. I'll try the f8 next.

I got 3rd with the tributo.

Greetings one and all, I had a theme of what cars to use and it came to me as I started my first race at Fuji when I spot the race prepped Ferrari I backed out and changed my 512BB to the 330P4 and it set this weeks theme as racers.

Surprisingly this week was a clean sweep, put some good music in my room and grooved and got CRBs first try. Rare but it does happen.

Suzuka. 🔰
The Prius was the only race prepped FF car i had, put SS tyres and that was that.

Red Bull Ring. 🔰
Jumped in my DTM 190E and replaced the RH tyres with SS and cleaned up.

Watkins Glen. 🔰
The Gr.3 Road car with SS tyres was to easy here but....

Deep Forest. 🔰
LM55 with RM tyres, everything else has Race tyres and such this is just an OP race anyway.

Fuji. 🔰
I detuned the 330P4 to be able to fit restrictions with RM tyres and was about smooth stable drive.

For once I actually got a chance to actually complete the Weeklies. I went with all black this week.

My choices were stock DC2 ITR, stock 190E on SS tires, GT1 tuned 02 Viper, detuned Peugeot Gr1 VGT(OP, but the only VGT I own), and finally a slightly modified F50 on SS tires to compete my week. I have been on easy difficulty since the SF race last week, so all the races were never closely contested. The part ticket gave me camshafts for the BRZ and I got the R8 LMS from the car ticket. A pretty meh week to be honest.

I started working on the WC. I did the Ferrari race 1st with a swapped F40 and that was a disaster. I was trying not use my LaFerrari so I went with the F50. Good enough for 2nd. Next I used the Mazda VGT Gr.1. That Porsche VGT is stupid fast but I caught up to by lap 4. I was starting to get sleepy so I used the Dodge VGT for an easy win. I had problems figuring out a good car for the Red Bull Ring so I quit to finish later

1
Un uneventful race at Suzuka. P1 and CRB with the 'more or less' stock Honda Civic SIR (400 PP).

WC_250110_R1.jpg

2
Another uneventful race at Red Bull Ring. P1 and CRB with the 'more or less' stock Alfa Romeo 8C C. (550 PP).

WC_250110_R2.jpg

One more uneventful but very enjoyable race at Watkins Glen. P1 and CRB with the 'more or less' stock Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 R. C. (630 PP). Great car btw !

Deep Forest reverse is not for me ! There's one great sector but the rest is meh. And so is the Ferrari VGT (850 PP). Will I ever learn that she's a boring car as soon as the battery runs out ? P1, no CRB against erratic AI.

Race of the week at Fuji. It's not my favorite track but I like that complex final sector. P1 and CRB with the Ferrari Enzo on RH tires (700 PP). Improved my PB run time, down to 13.25 now.

WC_250110_R5.jpg

The 6 star ticket gave me a Nissan 2020 VGT that I sold immediately.

So what Ferrari cars are you guys using for that event on the far right, #5? I don't want to waste money on choosing the wrong model. There's plenty of them. I gotta make a quick decision by this evening. My goal is to score first place in all events by Sunday afternoon. Wasn't too ecstatic about getting the first reward which was a 6-star ticket including car parts. So, what to do? I guess I'll go with the Ferrari that has the highest amount of horsepower and then tune it up, add modifications that stay just below the PP limit.

I used a Testarossa, that I had tuned up for the Sathe WTC 700 race...switched down to SS tires(had 687PP with that set up) and finished third(about 2 seconds behind the two top cars) on my first try(medium difficulty)

I picked that Testarossa because it is my favorite Ferrari to drive in the 600-700PP section...
