Seems impossible for me to win at GV with the suggested 550 pp and also take the CRB 😬.
Mostly am second and i only managed to win it once by blocking the second at the straight.
Although didn't get CRB while i get it at second place finished.
I want to try different cars but at 550pp running clean and win it's quite hard so i decided to say.
Allow me to give you a cheat code for this race:

500.99PP, easy win on hard mode with CRB:

And this was more cruising than racing. I just don't like this track😄

(BTW: This car is also fun for grinding Le Mans!)

Thanks @Sir Crashalot for your advice .

Just wanted to try different cars much or less at the same level and enjoy it but it's difficult to be clean there with half of the AI have more speed than you on straights.
GV was one of my favourite tracks at the past and i try hard to forget the past design of it 🥴
Anyway i don't like either what looks right now but i try to copie what i did at Trial mountain using various cars at a certain level of pp and it just doesn't work for me and my average skills.
Usually i prefer cars that have the complete ( short of) packet and lately am trying to be and clean also at least where i can and want.
At deep forest the addition of SS tyres was enough to get the win and CRB with Aston but here things are very tight and i don't wanna put my self in that stress cause it stops to be fun and interesting anymore chasing the CRB .
At Atlanta on previous weeklies at 600pp i enjoy it , at past GV i also enjoy it but this is out of my league.
Of course winning or taking the CRB isn't an issue since is no limits race , i just fail to do it the way i thought could be done .

My best feeling car there was a civic touring car on SS tyres but bring it at 550pp wasn't enough to keep my self in front at last straight .
Anyway , looking forward for next week 🤩 .
This week's races have a really good payout with the CRB including .

Weekly Challenges are done ✔️

Race 1 - Toyota HiAce. Only upgrade was a low rpm turbo. Barely caught the 205 at the end after the Kangoo held us all up.

Race 2 - Mazda CX30. Not gonna lie; I like this car! It's like an oversized Civic. Tuned to 550PP on SH tires, I caught the RX7 just before the tunnel and drove away.

19607e4195078-screenshotUrl.jpg

Race 3 - Aston Vantage. Only upgrades were aero, suspension, differential, and carbon brakes. Quite a fun car! Looks gorgeous too. Got the lead on lap 3 and that's all she wrote.

19607e4248018-screenshotUrl.jpg

Race 4 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR. I created a lore-friendly version of the MINE'S Evolution VI, being tuned by the fictional company "Webster". With 400HP and SS tires, I hoon'd it hard to grab 3rd. Good enough to complete the challenge criteria.

19607e42f1972-screenshotUrl.jpg

Race 5 - AMG GT3 '20. Utilizing short-shifting and RM tires, I managed a one-stopper at the end of lap 5, and won by 12 seconds over the dated 2016 version of the same car.

Last night I began thinking about that CRB hunt some of us do... why do we do it? I'm sure everyone has different reasons, some want the extra money, some want to see if it can be done, some probably something else. Personally I don't consider a race won unless I've done it cleanly (except some cases such as the X2019 Nations Cup where the AI has a bounty on your head) because otherwise there simply wouldn't be just about any challenge at all.

I guess you're right but Clean , takes enough water in the wine barrel.
In some cases you just loose the CRB cause you had miss by little the brakes ( for example) and just pass the famous " Track limits " , you didn't cut , you didn't gain any advantage, you hit nobody but that small mistake can cause the loss of CRB and we all see it happens.

You get bumped from the AI and is enough also.

Also depends on what track it is and perhaps cars you use ( that's my thought as i see different outcome on CRB ) against the AI.

Anyway, i belong to the category:
If can be done ( on weeklies ) but i don't bother further if can't be done for any the reason it is.
Also my approach at weeklies is on the griding side of view and if i like some race i might deal further.

TT's definitely put players under the same limits where white laps are the first aspect, but in races the Clean thing is a bit confused situation.
I took CRB's when i shouldn't and lost them without knowing where and why exactly.
And finally, everyone has the right to do it as he pleases him and doesn't matter if i agree or not.

I don't always get the CRB because I like to choose cars that require a lot of effort to win. Usually if the race suggests 550pp, I'm looking for cars around 475pp to take in the race. This at least makes the final lap or two of the race exciting. I find if I take a car at the suggested PP level that I get into first place in about 2 laps and the final 3 laps is just me going around by myself. This has been my gripe about GT7 since the beginning, but 90% of the races are designed to have you be in an OP car and fly around rolling roadblocks. I would rather be in a car that is much more similarly matched to the AI and duke it out until the end of the race. Usually that requires a little rubbing at times and that, unfortunately, removes your CRB in 90% of the races.

Last night I began thinking about that CRB hunt some of us do ...
I think "hunt" is a very strong word but ... well, as far as I'm concerned I simply can't be proud of and enjoy a dirty win. Barging one's way through a field for victory is dilettantism if you ask me, no matter how slow, bad, unaware and whatever else the AI is. And believe me, I feel the same annoyance here that you all feel. The fact that it's AI is no reason though to not show the same respect on track that would would show real people ( hopefully ).

For me it's the both the challenge to myself AND to maximize winnings, Especially if it's the Weekly Challenges, where I am always working out the maximum amount of completing challenges AND the combined amount of those credit tickets with my otherwise dusty math.

Ran the first 4 races in all stock* cars:

Brands Hatch in a VW Golf Mk1. Got in to first place at the end of lap 4 and took an easy win. Got the CRB.

Grand Valley was in a GT-R 400R. Got in to first place at the end of lap 4 and got an easy victory. No CRB because a yellow 370Z decided to slam on his brakes mid turn and I rear ended him.

Deep Forest was of course in the new Aston. This was a nail biter but I kept my foot down in the last left hand kink on to the main straight and carried so much speed that I made up a second and a half deficit to cross the line in 1st by .025 seconds. Got the CRB as well.

Trial Mountain was in my trusty Porsche GT2RS. Though this is a car made up from a GT3RS, it is modified and tuned to the same weight/hp/transmission ratios/etc as a stock* GT2RS of its year. I love this car. It’s the perfect car for these Hypercar races. Took the lead on lap 5 on the brakes at the end of the long straight. Got the CRB.

Good races, but the AI was making some really shady and dumb moves. Dumber than they normally do. I wonder if the new Sophy 2.0 updates have caused some adjustments to how the regular AI drives. They were zig-zagging all over the place, braking on corner exit, etc. just dumb stuff.

The AI at Monza is just appalling. You have to pass on the main or back straights only otherwise you get pushed off the track without fail. I've literally no idea how anyone enjoys this game without playing Sport, for all the faults of human beings the AI in this game is beyond bad.

Monza has taken the cake for the most infuriating case of bad AI. The painfully bad lines and double braking is among some of the worst I have witnessed in series history. I don't remember it being THIS bad in previous games (Even GT Sport seemed less horrific).

Also, is it just me or is the Porsche of Inostroza the absolute worst on brakes? The WTC 800 race at Daytona, outbreaks itself at the international horseshoe and flies right off the track. Monza, overshoot the first chicane and has THE worst recovery of all time. Both instances are guaranteed to spin you out if you are in its range.

I did the WTC the other day. I started at Monza with the Audi evo 19

I got spun out a few times by the AI but I was able to win.
Next I took my favorite hypercar the Valkyrie to Trial Mountain

Next I maxxed out the Vantage. Very good car but I noticed that at max hp & torque 2 & 3 rd gear can be tricky coming out of a curve. I had to make sure I was light on the gas to keep from spinning out.

Next I used my swapped MR2 at GV reverse. I must say GV reverse seems to flow better than the normal route. I think I enjoyed this race the most

Finally I pulled out modded Porsche 356 Speedster since I haven't driven it in awhile

Overall this was an okay week not great & not bad

There has to be a middle ground IMO. Sure, just getting in a car and crashing and pushing your way through the field isn't something to be proud of. But if it's a "longer" race, and especially one I don't enjoy much (because of the track or the car) and I have contact on one of the later laps I usually just accept it and don't feel the need to stop and retry.

The fact that it's AI is no reason though to not show the same respect on track that would would show real people ( hopefully ).
This I don't get at all. First, the way the AI behaves, you won't learn how to race cleanly against real ppl. You just learn how to adjust to the driving style of this AI.
And second, I can assure you the AI doesn't care at all.

That's one of the main problems with GT7 IMO, the difficulty is all over the place.
On one side you have a lot of races you can easily win with a car below the limit/suggested PP value, even on hard mode. But then there are those where it is almost impossible, like the 600PP races with Gallo and his infamous Giulia or the 350PP(?) race at the RB short track we had a few weeks ago. So it's just often trial and error and feels unbalanced and I guess that's what makes some ppl choose overpowered cars "just to be sure".

I realized this too. It's really annoying. I didn't get a single CBR this week.

My races have been:

Sunday Cup: Stock Renault R5 Turbo. It was fun. I might re-run with a Sierra Cosworth. P1
Clubman 550: Stock Mazda Roadster Touring. Also fun. More of a challenge. P1
One-make Vantage: "Stock" Vantage. Gave it a try and found it a bit hard to handle so I added a lip and a wing for extra downforce. Soft tyres too. In the end I took P1 with a huge gap so maybe I didn't need the mods.
Hypercar Parade: Stock Pagani Huayra. This was challenging. Took P2 and threw away CBR trying to pass the leader on the last corner. I was too greedy and got rightfully punished hitting the wall. Fortunately the gap with the P3 car was huge and he couldn't get me.
WTC800: Stock Pagani Zonda R. I haven't finished this one. I tried some things... I think I'd go hards fuel map 3 and refuel on lap 6-7.

My personal favourite is the exit of Lesmo 2, they wander diagonally down that straight so you cannot pass them, then they have MASSIVE entry speed, like ridiculous, into the chicane and the topper is APPALLING exit speed from said chicane. Just an absolute clustertruck of the highest order. They should make the code available and fans will fix it themselves, this is ridiculous.

You're correct here of course.
... But if it's a "longer" race, and especially one I don't enjoy much (because of the track or the car) and I have contact on one of the later laps I usually just accept it and don't feel the need to stop and retry. ...
The same here. However, if I consider an incident / contact to be clearly my fault, I'd very likely repeat the race later. I never do this for credits or the win count or sth similar, but for the sole feel of having mastered it cleanly.

I admit I should have worded things differently. What I was trying to say maybe was > I've always had this approach that it's the job of the driver / racer to deal with whatever happens on track, even if it's driving crazy circles around morons. And that's what I do. As good as possible. Practicing to get better. You're correct again, racing GT7 AI doesn't necessarily teach us racing real people ... but we're still racing and I won't lower my driving standards just because the opposition is weird. <

No idea whether this makes sense for you ... or anyone else. It's just me.

I finally did fuel map 2 on hards, refill on lap 5 for P1 and CRB. It was a fantastic race, such a welcomed change of pace.

we will see what the weekly challenge be soon
I hope the Viper event again.

I hated it but once it was gone I realized how much I missed it. Since the snake bite me I haven't been the same.

In its abscense I completed the Viper extra menu, listened to a Hagerty 'Never Stop Driving' podcast about the car. Then watched all Jay Leno's Garage episodes about Vipers... And Cobras too.

New weekly. That's dope!

Hold on. I know it's early, but this must be the first time a One Make car isn't available in the UCD for its own race.🤔

Well... it's a one-make, not a one-model...

Showing the EF in the thumb nail, I’d expect that car to be in the UCD as Special Picks. Obviously I can’t open the weekly to see the Regulations. Like the One Make Vantage. It only says Aston Martin Vantage. Opening the race specifies the car as the Vantage ‘18.
