I wonder ... what would be the best car ... jeez, this is a difficult one ! :confused:

I think there will be no final answer... I mean, 1500Kg and
680Bhp, or 900Kg and 409Bhp ?...

I WANT MY SUPER 7 DAMMIT ! :grumpy:

Yeah I see what you are saying Fler-man, would probably have the same performance on the 2 examples you used ...

:odd:

I think it then narrows it down to WHAT drivetrain suits you ... I'm thinking of a sooped-up Subaru ... or Viper ?

But then again.. The Viper is a pretty big a55 car, where as a lighter car should, in therory, be able to handle higher corner speeds... Glad I have the next 3 days (and the w/e of course) off :D

And the drivetrain issue.. We're on a dry track so is 4 wd really necessary ? (If it was SSR11 wet anything but 4WD would be out of the question).. and I think that FF is The Suck, but then again ?.. Does this mean that MR is the key ?.. Or FR ?

Take your pick :mischievous:

a lighter car would handle the corners better, but fall short on the long straight, whereas a heavier car wouldnt be as good w/ the corners, but have more power to pull a higher speed on the straight. its up to you figure out which one gets you to the finish line quicker ;)

Well, maybe the straight is long enough for a Viper to catch something smaller and make up time ?

This track has alot of long corners ...

Then maybe something in the line of a NSX-Type R ...

Do you have a choice already dude ?

This little webpage might help... I threw it together a few months ago when doing a spotty over at GTBN. We were pitted against the "Sim Mode, Amateur League, German Touring Car Championships, Deep Forest" to see what was the highest P/W ratio we could win with. Any and all modifications were allowed, you just had to win.

www.deralta.net/compendium/heavyhottie.htm

I figure this might help evaluate what cars you might run.

Hey there people,

I just wanted to say hello :cheers: , after lurking around here a long while I've got my 100% in GT3 that I was aiming for, and now I'm looking forward to furthering my GT3 experience with the WRS... I feel a bit 'in at the deep end' with this one :nervous: ... so let's see what comes later... I'll have a look tonight and post again in the morning with an update... maybe I'll even tell you which car I'm using..!!!. hehehehehe... ;)

see-yer-soon...!!

welcome!! glad to have ya!! Hey. dont worry about OLR, just race, do your best, dont worry about what everyone else does, and you'll get better. we've all gone thru it. believe me :)

I'm still at work, but I do have a couple of cars in mind that I'm gonna try out when I get home.. Earlier WRS' might give a hint :D

What the hell.. Got home tonight from work, and thought I'd give my fav car a spin (note fav not fastest)..

Here are my times... (I thik the P2W ratio is like 2.7xx or something, anbd I can't get anymore power)... Prolly wont be my best time, but just wanted to put it up for comparo... Will be interesting to see how this car compares with the big guns...

T1: 24.189
T2: 55.605
T3: 1:10.269

Let's see some comparos guys... I'll even disclose the car at the end (not that I'm expecting anything fantastic from it).

The 2.2 refers to AFTER you bought and tuned your car ... so you can tune it up to 2.2 PTW ratio ... and then race it. Obviously the only stuff having an effect on this is engine stuff and weight reductions.

OOOOOOooooooo...... This actually caught my interest lol.
Hmmmmm what to use what to use..... lol almost like choosing what car I was gonna run 100 laps of complex string with.
Which I did do by the way.... you can see the proving photos and celebratory photos in the spot races section of our beloved sight.
Hmmm I wonder what the PW of the EVO that I used for that was. Nearly 600 hp on tap, and the very spiffy AYC controller so it seems like its got the best of the straight line power and cornering prowess. I'll post up later with any other blabble.

Thanks dude, those are all when buying the car new right ?
Yes, that list is in stock form. It's also subject to some degree of variation. I'll note for the record it is only to get a rough idea of what car weights and power are out there.

T1/22.125
T2/49.600
T3/1:03.095

PW/2.23

Nice way to narrow the choices Der Alta.
icon14.gif

I've done this PW thing so often, there is really one choice.
That would be.......... next monday:P :lol:

T1: 0'22.126
T2: 0'49.305
T3: 1'02.540

W/P: 2.2652388797364085667215815485997...

(P/W gives you some wierd decimal; people are talking in Weight-to-power, not power-to-weight)

Lol wow I found the edge of the P/W ratio limit..... I think.
P/W = 2.202
T1=21.917
T2=49.425
T3=1'03.517

And there is lots to come out of that T3

Anybody gonna share vehicle's this go around?

New best T3 of 1'02.699

what if you have a new car that has a 2.21 p/w and then you race for awhile and then you get the hp boost?

dude these are very preliminary testing runs and there are seconds laying out there on the track....... time to go pick them up ... lol i'll post best times later
