Boom... Perhaps add a rule... "All cars must have displasment listed in the game"... Or something along those lines to clear up this.... (I really want to use the Mines Lancer Evo...)

I think boom somewhere in this thread mentioned that is not valid to have a car that doesn't have displayed their displacement.

Hmm just got back from college, I'm in a good mood after getting an A in a spanish speech :D (no big deal, my first language is spanish hehe but an A is an A!) well time to race, till tomorrow..cya!

oh and yes, I also agree that tracks have to vary a little bit, I hate midfield raceway but well what can I do..just race...

cool variances would be like SSR-5 wet or something...test course could be interesting cause the times would be very but very close hehe :)

Do you think we could have a race on a different course every oce in a while? I mean, this is the second time in 3 weeks that we have raced this course, and I don't once remember seeing a course like Laguna Seca, SSR5, or maybe even the Test Course...

I totally agree.....

but Test Course :irked: I hope we never do that track unless its a drag race, which I think could be fun. what do ya think boom ;)

Any way I gave the silvia a spin but it too drifty for me so i think I'll try a S2000 of something

Hey, that's my secret! I'm surprised there aren't more people using it...

I was going to, but I wasn't sure if the settings I used for the Cote D'Azur would be good enough for midfield...

@ Heinrich:
Claro, es necessario tener carreras en muchos lugares si quiere que mantena todo en ordenado. Tambien, ¿que crees que mi espanol? Solo tuvio la clase tres anos (y digo "solo" porque no es un tiempo muy largo).

Sorry if that offends, I just had to test my skills against someone who actually speaks the language as a first language... (don't worry, I didn't bad mouth anyone for people who may not understand...)

Well, anything with a number, anything with an LM after it. Anything with race decals of any sort.

This pretty much covers it all, although you know what I would do... I would ask about specific cars rather than ask us to list all of the race cars that can't be used.

Soooo, do you have anything in mind that you wanna use but aren't sure of?

good, feel free to ask, better safe than sorry.:D

I was wondering about rally cars but I pretty much just wanted a feel for it. I'll ask about particular cars if I'm unsure. Thanks!

Sorry, but all of those rally cars are pretty much off limits.

I would say the only rally car to use would be the "norm" lancer evo t.m.e. (cost something like 34,000)

Good luck on the search and if you want some suggestions hit me on aim or with a pm. I have some good ideas for those of you interested in rally cars. :D

Yeah, if I decide to I may give you the grudge match race... evo VII maybe?

Well don't hold me to it, but I just might check it out.

I also took a look at the sti, and I think it could work.

With races like this it's alot of fun to forget about competition and just have a good time driving. Something this series and its participants have forgotten, or atleast it seems.

Sorry to sound like the old fogey, I just love to remember the old days when I was only worried about improving my racing and not actually winning.

Oh well, we'll see where it goes I guess.

Not trying to sound like a whining sissy here, but no one knows what the true displacement of a rotary engine is... :P
the rx7 is a 1.3ltr engine (1300cc

For anyone looking to use the Subaru, try the earlier STi (MY GENERATION!!!! YEAH!!!! haha). Seriously though, the generation before the bug eyed ones. They handle much better.

Hey VG I got just the EVO for ya....... Member that Red one with the spiffy black rims? Lets see what we can get.

Yeah, rotaries are out of the question... can't use them. Sorry.

As for the subbie... yes vg30 has got it right.

I think this is worthy advice and I woud say that if anything, TAKE IT!
That is of course, IF your gonna use an sti.

Right now Im working on a couple of cars, but it seems that numbers don't do all of the cars justice.

Take the lotus elise motor sport of example. Great hp/w and a great overall wieght, but on the course, you've gotta be on your top game if you plan on matching up to most of the other competitors in this event.

So with that in mind, I suggest everyone looks at the cars they like and then test them... dont just sup them up and see what the numbers say. (think of that old phrase... "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics." )

Like I said, sometimes the stats just don't do the car justice ;)

"Anyways, I doubt I'll be a big challange!" (vg)
Dont be hard on yourself either, your good, you know it, work with it. :D

I'm using the Lancer EVO VII (the newest one if you know what I mean), the standard one from the manufacturer ... seems alright at the moment ...

Have used the S2000 and STI as well ... but the Lancer is the best for me so far ... will have to still fine tune those settings though.

Wanted to use the Spoon Sports S2000 ... but is does not show any displacement ... what a bummer ... that thing would have rocked !

Is the Castrol Toms Supra JGTC classified as a race car?
Just want to check, it is 1998cc and can be bought from the dealership.

you know, i love midfield II, but this is just a frustrating combo w/ the car choices we're limited to. half the cars understeer too much, the other half drift way too much :irked: hopefully i can find a car/setup w/ some middle ground

oh yeah, and are we allowed to use the motorsport elise? ive seen a couple people mention it now and theres been no mention by boom or anyone else that its not allowed...i thought it would be considered a race car..

Then go the 4WD route or somethin ... I am using the Lancer, and it seems quite neutral at the moment ... but the times are not that fast though ...

i tried the lancer, i dont know if i had a bad setup or what but i had tons of understeer...care to share a setup?

Don't have my specific settings here at work but ... not that I have the best setup, but it works for me ...

Springs : hard as possible (17 or 18 or something on both)
Height : lowest front and 10mm up on the rear
Dampers : in the range of 7 - 9

Camber : 3.0 on both

Toed-out in the front (+ 1)
0 at the rear

maximum downforce at the back

That yaw control is at 60

and asm = 0
tcs = 2

I just played around alot, and found these for the best for me, hopefully you can make somethin of this !
;)
