what drivetrain are you guys using. So far im useing 4WD as 350hp is not enough for critical understeer. There for making it very fast.

GTJugend has the same idea as me... GT40 Road car... I'll give it a try tonight...

is there any driving style (or suchlike) that might suit simulation tires more than the racing tires we've been using..??

Boom: renaming the Beginner division is something that's crossed my mind too, how about "Up & Coming Racers" or "start-up Division"

Good Luck all with this weeks race....!!!

I was thinking before that we should rename the classes:

Rookie, Veteran, and Masters. Or something like that.

I like CFM's suggestion's
T1/ 23.997
T2/ 44.948
T3/ 1:07.285

I've had a faster T3 but went wide off the track on the next right hander. These sim tire are tricky. Glad I'm using a wheel.

Man Sim tires really do suck :yuck: I think I'm gonna have trouble nailing a sub 1.10 T3 :grumpy:

I can go faster round in a 68Bhp Mini with T8s :D

Hmm this is gonna be a tough challenge for me because I have a hard time with sim tires..well..tomorrow is my free day so I'll start to make some laps by then..cya :)

i'm in this is my sort of race :D :D :D

sim tyres and set ups....because of the way sims work you are likly to be suffering from large amounts of oversteer :D so stiffen the front and soften the rear (the opposite of how i normally set up a car in GT3) ;)

I think the gt40 may walk off with this one. A few other suggestions, Zconcept,RX-7,3400s

I hate sim tires and am starting Torc this week so no times from me. :(

Hmmm :(

I don't know what to say now. I have the best possible car, and one of the sweetest race set ups.

But I dont think I will be in this week. I can't even put down a time below 1.11. on this.

If I wanna drive on ice, I'm gonna move outta louisiana and back to virginia.

Sorry boom, I just can't deal with it.

And I would love to put down a hurtin with this car:mad:

Sorry to hear that Kent. Maybe that isn't the right car for you.
I'd encourage you to continue, but seems like you've made up your mind. ]

Cya next week maybe.

I'll be around, and I really don't know what to say about the car... 3.037 hp wieght and within the limit.

I may put in some time just to show the amatuers and beginners that they are able to beat an old pro, but nothing more.

I hate to skip too, but I just don't think the headaches this sim driving will create is worth the excitment of competitive racing.

Actually shoot, Im gonna give some more time.

If I like what I see, I just might turn something in.

Although I must admit, my perspective on this race is skewed for several reasons, so please don't get offended with my reactions. I would like to give you more insight to this, so you can count on more talk throughout the week. ;)

tuning and picking the right car took me almost 3 hours now...
now that i chosed the car already.. i can start improving my times
as for now, my time sucks!
T1: 24.579
T2: 46.853
T3: 1'10.638
:(
i dont think i can improve that much though but we'll see
this week's race is tricky and challenging.. me like

GT40 seems to be the car to use. BTW, thanks boom, I know I can get to be quite a ***** sometimes, and I'm sorry...

Amateur GT All-Stars. Use the save trick; and drive an F1 to get it quickly and hassle-free. I know the game; just not quite how to drive yet...

First time already:
T1: 0'24.188
T2: 0'45.567
T3: 1'09.982

I think I'm doing pretty well...

Wow so many posts already

I sorry I didn't compete last week but this week I'll try. I never drove sims before so this should be fun :D

I have an odd question. If we have to take into consideration the break-in period for store bought cars so that we don't exceed the 350hp. Am I allowed to use a car that starts out exceeding the 350hp and run it until I need the oil change so that the horsepower drops below the 350hp limit? This is a cunundrum. There's no way to be sure someone's hot lap isn't set after the break-period or after the oil change horsepower drop. Boom sure trusts us. Can you clarify for me, Boom?

Dangit! I hate running fast laps, leaving, coming back five minutes later, and then braking your old record in two! Here are my new T times:
T1: 0'24.006
T2: 0'45.642
T3: 1'08.575

It's a full 2 seconds faster than my other time; I gotta learn ot get more consistant!

Edit: New times (:irked:):
T1: 0'24.274
T2: 0'45.747
T3: 1'08.432

I know it's not exactly better at all points, but the lap is actually .5 seconds ahead of the last one...

This car's tranny is difficult to dial in.
T1/23.613
T2/44.046
T3/1:06.129

I've got to hand it to you Boom. You come up with some great challenges even if you didn't pick this track. Sim Tires?? At LS?!

Kent, I'm glad you've reconsidered.
Kind of fun, if you ask me (okay, so you didn't).
Reminds me of a grippy GPL (except the wheels don't fly off  ).
I got my assignment today and that means it's back to work.
I did a quickie with the GT40 @/default, but lowered, maxDF, TCS2.

1st clean save:
23.175
43.628
1:05.723

Slidey, slidey, slidey. Good fun.
Gotta bunch o' crap to do, but I hope to try again.
So, as always, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

Ha, ODP comes in here as usual and shows everyone what's up:lol: I don't know if I will be around for awhile because I'm participating in the TORC 11 series. I may have a quick run at it tonight before I get started on TORC though.:mischievous:

I adjuted the setts on the GT40 a little bit, and it's a little more stable than before, although an easily drift (little to no effort is needed).

Umm I dont know..but just as when I buy a car...I instantly change the oil and then there goes up the HP quickly..no need to drive the car some miles..well that's how it works for me :)

Hmm, well i thought the car id chosen would hold its own pretty well, but i didnt realize the gt40 would be available for this. No matter. im still using this car, i dont care what time it gets. As all of you are well aware of im sure, when you have a "choice" in what car you can drive, theres still always one clear cut car thats gonna be the top dog, and if you wanna get the fastest time, you have to use that car, thereby eliminating any "choice" you might have. to hell w/ that i say! As long as i have a choice, im gonna use it! and drive somthing i can have fun with, so i can save my frustration for a time when theres only one car everyone has to use.

The thing I like about racing with the top dogs, is that you have all this competition.

I was going to try, but I'm not in the mood right now. Maybe I'll take part in our spot race.

No. You can not exceed the HP limit. Period. Ever.

And yes, this series is based on honesty and I do beleive that 99.9% of the racers are honest. I have faith in ya. ;)
