I ran the NSX a few laps ... had T3's of 1:09 and 1:08 once, but I'm swapped to the GT40 ...

I don't think it's unfair, there is ALWAYS gonna be some car (in week's that Boom make us choose our own cars), that's faster than the others ... like last week's S2000 ... that's just how it goes ...

BTW, been doing T3's of 1:06 in the GT40 ...

man... im using the RX8 too... i wanted to surprise everyone when the result comes out.. but oh well

IDAFC21: how are you doing in the RX8?
mine is tailhappy... by tail happy i mean caraazy ovasteeer
my best time with my 348hp RX8 on T3 is only 1.09.835 though :(

Sim tires is The Suck.. I can't seem to find a setup that suits me.. Or it could just be the tires :grumpy:

Ohh well - Maybe I should just change my SC to m4n-I-k4nt-dr1ft-4-shizzle......

Btw. Have yet to see a sub 1.10 T3 :dopey:

I ran the GT40 and had a T3 of 1:07.xxx but I thought I'd try another car. I can get a T3 of 1:08.xxx with my beetle RSI but that's as close as I get. And I accidently deleted my entire GT3 game save so I'm stuck with the times I've done. Fun!

This week has a clear advantage for people who really know how to do modifications...and I'm weak on that part, so I'll probably just stick with the best time I can get with the GT40, I have tried several cars but I cant make anyone good to handle..

btw if the HP limit would have been a little bit more, I could have easily used the Nissan R390 GT1 road car, it has a great feeling and good handling, but it's 352 HP :(

Im doin pretty well w/ it. If you're having trouble w/ it look back a few pages for some tuning tips i gave out, or if you want, i could pm you the settings im using. I knew from the start this car would hold its own pretty well (gt40 aside) its lightweight, could easily reach the target hp, great weight distribution, and the lack of torque on the little rotary would keep it from being overly tail-happy to drive (when set up right) Its just a fun car to drive

I gotta put some more time into this today. didnt touch it yesterday, worked all day and played halo all night. hehe

Right now I'm trying to obtain the Nismo GT-R LM Road Car R33 to race here; it should fit in nicely once I have it tuned the right way...

Edit, nevermind

New(er) times with the GT40:
T1: 0'24.116
T2: 0'45.674
T3: 1'08.478

I think the Nismo GT-R LM is acceptable in here..I mean..LM's are considered race cars, but the Nismo isn't that of a racecar, it's like on the same category as the GT40, it would be same with the R390 Road Car, but it surpasses the HP limit by only 2!!!!:banghead: :irked:

well i dont know where to begin here. i have a new fastest time, which i still dont know how i accomplished it. ( i think i really nailed the corkscrew and the last turn, the 2 keys turns), i did so w/ a 24.5 t1, 45.5 t2, but my t3 was a 1'07.7 ....not common for those first 2 splits. my overall time was a full half a second better than my previous best, AND, this was done w/ no TCS :) looks like thats stayin off. ...............BUT. I look at the replay. and the right hander just after the T1, i THINK my right rear tire might have scratched the dirt. it happens so quick, and its SO close to the rumble strip that half my tire may have well been on the rumble strip and the other half scratched the dirt. the only view you can really see it in is the behind the car view, and even then its so difficult to catch....but i dont know. I really hope i can at least match this time w/ a clean save so i dont have to worry about it. if i could throw together like a 24.3/45.3 split and do as well w/ the corkscrew as i did here a mid 1'07 would be more than possible and probably another .2 or .3 off my time. but thats the hard part...throwing it all together.

yeah..the adrenaline flows so quick that you sometimes lose control on the car in your best moment, quite frustrating but I love it! :D

Run it into the ground till the oil is black, and you should see that HP drop nicely... Well.. I'd reckon anyway...

Awww, shucks.

I need to do something to shave a few precious seconds off my time.
Need to put my car on Slim Fast. Bastards a porker. :irked: But it looks good in white with white wheels.

Speaking of wheels. I just put my snow tires on my real car. :(

As miata13B would say, it's "teh suck." (typo intended)

I noticed someone mentioned beetle rsi... good call on that one, I also spent some time with it and managed to keep with my 22b times without much effort.

As for the overall on this race :( ... not doing too well.

Slowly losing patience along with drive to do better. Im also having one hell of a time meeting my best dirty lap time.

On the unfortunate side, I think I have the flu... I also have a test this week in one class and a research paper due a whole lot sooner than I would like.

With the flu slowing life down, I should still get in a time, but with school stressing me, I dont know how well I will do. (still as I've mentioned in other threads... Im fine having this sort of performance anxiety compared to the other kind ;) )

btw, hot lap means you go to free lap and do your fastest lap... in free lap they will start you before the finish line by quite some ways, just go full throttle.

Thx, I'll get some laps down soon.

Sim's are gonna take a while to get used to, but this car goes like mad! All shall be revealed ;)

You need to register first. Click the link in my signature and do that race first. 👍

im having a hard time with my RX8
but im having so much fun driving it
i need full on concentration to drive it
i havent been driving like that for a while so this is good
my best time so far
T1: 24.764
T2: 46.531
T3: 1.09.125

a little more concentration and hopefully i can cut my T3 time to 1.08
hows everyone doing?

Had some fun with an MR2 GT-S(J), just doesn't cut it though.

T1: 26.021
T2: 49.728
T3: 1.17.208

I think if I play with LSD a bit, _maybe_ I'll be able to drop some time off, if not I'll hunt for another car :)

Well my initial hopes of a 1.07.0 are now dead.

With my subby and a bit of time, I might be able to get a keeper in the 1.07 range, but for the time being, 1.08.??? is looking a bit more reasonable.

Glad to see your enjoying the rx-8, I was thinking about racing it, but decided to just stick with my 22b for now. Good luck with it... should be interesting to see the variety in the results this week.

Hey don't worry Kent.

I'm hovering in the 1.08.1 range still. Gonna crack into the 1'07's, but it's really going to take some effort. That damn 1'08.1 had some time invested into it.
But you know what, I've enjoyed the challenge and it's been exciting to try to take a car and drive it really fast and see how I can hold up with it versus a differnt and quite possibly, better car.

Indeed, as always, my negativity is greeted by positive reinforcment for the job I'm already working at.

With any luck I will manage a 1.08.0 for a keeper. But I've gotta run for now, so I will catch you guys later tonight or maybe in the morn... till then, later.

Anyone got a spare minute to help me with an MR2? In general, is it best to have a lower spring rate + ride height? I would play around and compare but I haven't really got very consistent times atm (Broken thumb :()

Hey Dan,

Here is what I would do with the MR2 riding on sims.

Springs 8.0/11.0 Wanna keep these close together so you create a equal car balance. The MR2 is really skittish. The more you lesten the front springs and raise the rear springs the more oversteer you will get. Opposite for understeer.

Camber - I'm running 4.0 front and 3.0 rear on my car. (Not the MR2 though. :D )

Ride height I'd probably keep around stock levels. Maybe go a bit lower but don't slam it. If you do a low front and high rear set up it will give you oversteer. Vice verse for understeer.

Keep the damper bound kinda soft. Maybe around 5.
Set the rebound a bit stiffer. Maybe around 7.

Hope it helps ya out.
