I've got a T2 of 1'05,133, thats my best so far.

Got my T2 down to 1'07.715 and now it's beginning to get harder. Hmm, looks like it's still not enough for the 3rd division. *Runs back to PS2*

3rd division? that's my league. My best at the moment is 1'06.5, so you've got some racing to do (Run alot more laps and apply what you learn form each one in the next one...). Welcome to the races.

Well it looks like my racing time just went from minimal (with exams, test and papers all do this week) to none at all...

I just got the grand theft auto double pack. (vice city and III for only 40 bucks)

It's not that I will be playing them, but now my little bro is gonna be on the playstation constantly, so I will work what I can, but at the moment it is looking grim.

Back later if I can do anything.

In two straight weeks, Boom chooses my two least favorite tracks. He's plotting against me! :irked:

If I ever get any time to work on this, I'll get to it, but I'm sure no matter how much I worked on it, my time would be laughable.

They're road courses, and the best among them. CdA (aka Cote'd'Azur) is narrow with sharp turns all over the place. S11 (aka SSR11) is just a place wher you have to know the track really well. With all the nooks and crannies in the walls it can get really annoying (if you're trying to cheat). It forces you to drive the right way, and for inexperienced people like yourself and myself, driving correctly is no easy feat.

Thanks Jpec. :)

Unfortunately my Supra and I dosn't always agree in where to go, and what we learned in the previous laps.

Well, still got lots of time. ;)

heh. I'm gonna get a little bit farther ahead of you, HareTurtle, your record from last week is scaring me a bit...

Lots of laps, lots of dents :irked:

Best so far is a 24.1 / 1:04.9 with a couple of layers of paint missing from brushing the armco on the exit of mirabeau.

I'm hoping to be competitve with GoKents and Heinrich ... guess we'll see :mischievous:

Getting a good exit from Ste Devote (1), Portier (7) and the Swimming Pool (14-15) seem to be the keys to getting a good lap.

Sough's 1.04.1 has interested me...I would like to try some laps now, but my studies are my first priority(especially in finals now).

But I still believe I have a great time, my best sector(but REALLY best) sector was from the T2 to the finish line :) I took out like .9 secs in those sectors from my previous best time ;)

I'm losing alot at the chicane, if I could steady myself out there then I know that I could take at least a second off my time (maybe more). Also the Grand Hotel Hairpin...

Same boat all the way heinrich.

Im in for a major test tomorrow, finished one yesterday, and all next week are finals.

Im also looking forward to trying to match and beat that 1.04.1, but with gta v.c. and finals, dont know that I will be able to. (on top of that, my beloved diablo series is taking my gt priority, although this week is gonna be a close tie for time)

Anyway, back with progress when I get it...

go to options menu, and look for the tcs and asm...the default for arcade cars is on both..you can take them off...

hmm I didnt realize tcs can help up a bit, will try it soon :) and that time sough my friend...bravo!;)

Indeed sough, bravo!

As for tcs, yes it can help, and yes it can hinder... I would love to be able to run without it and use a ds2 with throttle control, but on my only option (the ds1) theres no throttle control, hence, Im tcs'in it up.

I see all of you talking bout the diablo..how the hell do you get that car? oh please I hope its not with the x-port because I dont have one :( and less gameshark :(

Yup, sorry to say it, but its a gameshark perk.

Sorry.
but hey, atleast you've got throttle control and steering input control. (for me its all or none on the gas and full left or right with the steering.)

So enjoy what you've got and get your ass to a best buy so you can get an xport.

They are totally worth it.

@Jspec, the best I've been able to figure out the chicane is to take it in second gear. Slow down so that the turn in is steady, then a little bit of throttle, then lift off and use the curb and weight transfer from lifting off to turn the car, then accelerate out at full throttle.

For the Grand Hotel Hairpin, I brake down to second gear, turn in, then down shift to 1st in order to lock up the rear wheels and get the back end to slide a bit so the car comes around. The nose of the car stays tight to the curb, and I exit on the inside (well clear of the outside wall). Just be careful to catch the oversteer before it catches you ...

Lol thats right...not having throttle control really sucks :D

I think I know of a place in here where they can have it, but probably I'll end up for my aunt to send me one in here(of course I'm gonna pay it ;) )

Hey, and you should also buy a new ds2 controller:)

The way I get the Grand Hotel chicane is braking to 2nd gear, then lifting up throttle quickly but steadily for like a second..and then full throttle...the oversteer isn't a problem for me ;)

T1 0'24:728
T2 1'06:003

That is the best I've done so far with the Denso Supra. Being that I had to send my PS2 out for repairs today, I will probably not be able to improve on it though. Not to mention I left my GT3 disc in the damn unit when I sent it out. I R dum.

I know I could more with some time in the Skylines. They have the best brakes in the field, which is very advantageous in Monte. The Supra has more punch and traction out of the corners though.

I also want to point out, that I think it is very bad misconception that just because the MR-S has less power means it will handle better. There is simply more time to react, so it might feel easier to drive, but belive me lower HP does not translate into superior handling in this class.

Good point fox. These JGTC cars aren't extremely powerfull and have plenty of downforce and grip. The autobach's may handle very well but its marginally better handling can not come close to overcoming its lack of power.

Ok, I've played a bunch and I've got some smokin' times with the silvia:

T1: 50.142
T2: 3'42.561

I only got going the wrong way twice that time! Anyway, I think with a little bit more practice I can edge another .2 or .3 seconds out of that and take 1st place overall this week.

For the Grand Hotel hairpin I brake to 2nd gear and then
hand-brake for go round the turn.

Smokin' compared to what?

Are u sure about tose times? Seems like u left the handbrake on ;)

Or maybe you're doing it in reverse :D

Hey thanks Lucksy, I appreciate it. I'll give it a shot when I get home, as I don't currently have my Playstation with me. BTW, there is no s...

I got a T2 of 1'08,114 in the MR-S, no chance of beating the GT500's in that.
