What I will do is this...
1. You can run an arcade version, but in the results I will post that exception for individuals. So include if you used an arcade castrol in your results pm.
2. In the next few weeks at one point I will throw us a prize car so racers can actually earn money and get a car to race with. (helps the budget and gets you the prize car.

Also, if money is an issue, jump in your fastest car and go to the amatuer league german touring car championship.
3 laps for each race.
30,000 first place for each race.
Plus bonus and prize car if you race the 5 race series.
(this will win you tons of money fast, and if you save at the end of the 4th race, you can reload and skip the 5th race over and over again until you win an expensive prize car.

Good luck fellas, and remember, yes you can use the arcade car if you really don't want to bother with the sim car... but it's gonna leave you at a dissadvantage.

check here scuderia - GoKents says we can use the arcade supra if we want to

i know that...hahaha

My point is we now gotta have class racing if people can run two cars, there is no way the arcade version can match the sim version...even between div 1 to 3....

I'll stop. I'm running the sim version anyway, which I bought this morning...so no worries.

have you cracked 40 seconds t2 yet ??

nope..been at work all day, think it will be a late night here too so i doubt I'll play tonight.

I only did 5 laps at 8am this morning with my DS2 which I never use anymore and an un-modded/tuned supra with medium tires

41.1 was my best T2

I'm dying to get home and start playing/tuning

Ok, the arcade supra has got me wondering, and you guys can use it, but Im gonna run some with the arcade castrol, and if it comes out naturally faster than my sim car for this event, I will bar it from this race.

Bottom line: I went out of my way to be nice and let the arcade supra in, but if it is not at the standard 487hp or under, than it is out.

So go check on that fellas.

Make sure there is no hp advantage for the arcade car.
Thanks again,
-

I always thought the HP on the arcade car stayed the same, so as long as you keep on top of the oil changes in the sim car IT will always have the HP advantage ??? I might be wrong there

A suggestion for those short on cash:

Buy the car, race it all you want, but don't save the game. Save your fast lap, and save your settings, then turn off the PS2. Next session, it only takes a few seconds to buy the car, change the oil, add T8s and reload your settings.

Running around 20.4 39.9

Did'nt expect my question to cause so much controversy...

Personally, if the Arcade car is at a disadvantige, like I expected I dont see any reason to make a seperate class...that is just silly, if I used the arcade version out of lazyness...then I deserve to be at a disadvantige.

Sorry if I caused an uproar people. :-P

Ran a few more laps in the Supra Dupra :D

I beat my best save with a .1 slower T2 yet later on I hit a 38.6 T2 and still never beat my best save due to silly sector watching :embarrassed:

Not much left here for me.. maybe .2 or 3 maximum maybe more if i can get some faster gears

Looking like an early submission up to now :irked:

laters all:tup:

well got my time down to 20.2 and 39.3, but a kinda poor performance from T2 to the finish line.

I have to hurry, I just have till friday:banghead:

btw, glad to see the 1 hour earlier deadline isn't an issue with anyone. :D
Later.
Well, for me 1 hour earlier is 1 day earlier, but is 1 week left yet.....

Well, now that I'm over the flu and almost back to normal I can get back into some racing. Ran this last night and managed a sub 40 T2 - only once tho!

At least I'm usually pretty consistent within about .2-.3 at each T. I reckon it's going to be pretty close this week.

My problem is really with gears. I can't seem to get them set right, either that or my gear changing is not what it should be. I just cant get it to accellerate much one I hit top gear.

BTW Respect to Kents for taking over from Boom. I'm sure you'll be up top the task for some interesting combinations. Good Luck, mate.

I got new fastest lap. Its .1second faster, but the T2 is slower, something like 39.8. So there is some room for improvement. How is it possible to do a T2 under 39secs?!! Thats really fast time there Mr P! I think that I promise you to get back with T2 under 39 :D

10 laps last night at 1am again with my DS2 and the stock supra/medium tires/oil....just trying to break the sim car in before I fuss with tuning it. I beat my best time by 2secs but on that lap had slower sectors both in T1 and T2 than what I did yesterday morning, go figure.

best secotrs thus far....T1 20.8 T2 40.7

Tonight will be with the wheel and actually trying/tuning. This car is a nice car to handle it has alot of grip on the surface of the track to. Like i said I've never driven this car before and rarely spend anytime at midfield...Mr.P, your videos on your site helped me figure a line around this circuit. My probelm corners are the right hander into the tunnel (I brake too much i think) and what speed to take the exit of the chicane before the hairpin..gotta figure those out.

Studying the replays there. I submitted a terrible time last week, so I'm looking into what you guys are doing and what I am missing. I see that good times are not allways with wheel, judging from Daan's site, so that would not be my problem.

I noticed Arco going around midfield in a denso, he used a wheel and looked quite "drifty". Whereas lotus350 with same car on same track looked more "planted".

All in al I noticed that the rides look "smoother" (less jerky steering and braking than my driving), and generally more "drifting" than I'd expect from a good laptime.

See what I can do this week...

I think that's a common misconception: drifting is always slower. This probably stems from seeing slower lap times from people who drift every corner just for show.
Many track/car combos have corners where a controlled drift is the ideal path around them, because the car usually comes out of the turn sooner and/or at a faster speed.

I have the same issues with that exact corner - I think Lotus 350 said stay in 3rd and just go as quick as you can. I always fear not braking enough and spinning but its not that bad for spinning out but that corner is very tricky for me !! I'll keep on pluggin away though like a good

I now use left foot braking 100% of the time (still learning obviously) but here is what I do for that corner;

approach in top gear from the uphill straight, brake early, sooner than you would expect, on the straight. All the way to the left side of the road, almost in the grass. Get all my braking done in a straight line. I turn in with my foot slightly on the gas in 3rd, my left foot ready on the brake to tap it to adjust the nose if needed (hopefully I lined up the line correct off the stright) aimed at the curbing on the inner right before the tunnel. I want to hit that curb to keep the car in line, if I miss it I slip the tail too much or slide into the wall due to the negative camber on the road. Once i hit that curb with my front wheels and i feel the car inline I apply gas softly but am up to full acceleration by the next set of curbing on the right which i bounce off of to get the car inline for the big positve camber lefty.....

I think my issue is I may brake too much on the stright, I bet if I look at it I can be turning in at least 10-15mph faster than I do now.

I have also tried driving in deep into the corner and braking at the last minute as I turn in fast and maybe 50/50 on brake/gas. This seems faster, feels faster, but is alot less consistent. When i blow this i REALLY blow it and spin and/or go into the dirt/wall on the left.......the otherway if i get it wrong I can usually get back on line fast with tapping the brake and slowing down, but that kills time too...

ughh.

My other main problem area is the exit of the chicane before the hairpin. Finding the right balance of speed, how much curb to hit and braking. My main problem is say going it in 5th, taking a generous amount of curb and then suddenly braking for the hairpin. The curb upsets the balance of the car enough that as soon as I brake for the hairpin I spin and the car goes intot eh outerwall.

My other approach is to slow down mid chicane drop to 4th take the exit at a slower speed than above, maybe 25% gas, no brake and then floor it once i clear the curb, jump to 5th for a second and brake shifting into 2nd, turning in and linining up my exit of the hairpin all at once.......this feels slower but is more consistent.

Look at me being more open here.....not that my lines are division 1 worthy...but I have won 3 out of 4 div 3 weeks.... I msut be doing something right at least a little....haha

well I havent got that much to say about my lines and braking points etc ........ they seem to be different every time !

Stupid car !!!

I gotta say scuderia, the post and the performance are starting to look like div 2 material.

We used to have pro, amatuer, and beginner ranks.

If that was still the case, it would do a good job to show that you may deserve a promotion in division...
Your not really looking like a beginner anymore and Im willing to bet the rest of div 3, as well as some of the div 2 guys are willing to support that statement.

Keep up the good work.

As for me... still nothing really, only a few runs for testing before the week started and about 20 minutes of running today.

Feels like a good race with plenty of time to come off. (for me atleast)

Anyway, catch you guys later. :D

well ... for my 900th post I am going to say that scuderia does deserve to go up a division. I for one would be happy to race with the Scudmeister in Div 2.

So
$clap.gif
to scuderia for not letting his head go down being in Div 3 AND for carrying on with the weekly and possibly getting promoted to div 2.

hahahaha...guys trust me I am very much a beginner. Throw my monte/787b (my favorite/best driving circuit and one of my top 5 cars in GT3) time out and you'll see my victories have been by only .1-.2secs tops. I have very much to learn but feel a better driver than i was 4 weeks ago when I joined the weekly.

GoKents...if you want to move me go ahead. I suppose the best way is to learn under fire......but I do feel a beginner still...

I'm off for some quality time (2 free hours...) with a Supra race car and midfield , be back after that to see if I bettered my best times.

:D A mention!

Just out of curiosity which of my replays of mine @midfield did you watch? The 787B or the GT40?

56.575 for me in the Denso there  .2 behind Arco, one of the best if not THE best GT players there is!

So I'm pretty chuffed with all my laps at midfield, and expecting a podium this week ;) :D

I would love to be able to put up mr. p and lotus in the podium this week.

Keep at it you two. :D

As for homeboy above, don't worry, if you're only winning by a bit on most of the runs, and you're not comfortable with the div.2 runners... :D
No move needed.

Good luck again you all.
I may come back with times. :D
