Hi to all. Im not a great great player but i will try to beat you all :)

Kidding :)

Today is a sad day to Portugal.
Sporting lost the UEFA Cup Final. (not yet but 3-1 is a difficult result)

Im from SL Benfica but im portuguese :(

Welcome all new drivers to the Div 3 ranks. Wow, need to go check, but think that puts us over 100 listed drivers, just wish that all could race every week.

<pops head into the Div-3 lounge area to see what new blood is lurking in corners!>...

Hey folks! Nice to see you all today!...Hope you're out practicing for this weeks WRS event!...It's going to be doddle of an event to say the least, so keep your heads up today!....OH! Before I forget, I'd like to take this opportunity to say "Hello" to all the new drivers that have just joined us here in Div 3...

Don't let the lower division number fool you now...this bunch of drivers...and I'm refering to everyone here when I say this...will take any opportunity to 'nudge', 'rub', 'bump' or 'cut you off' to get the upper hand and beat you to the finish line...or at least to T1...! So! Keep one eye on the road in front of you and the other one on your rear view mirror...:D..I'm kidding of course!...

Looking forward to racing against eveyone as we progress through the WRS!...

Peace! 👍

I feel like hitting my head against the wall in a very slow, deliberate THUD THUD THUD manner.

I've printed off your guide, but everything about this week feels utterly wrong ... nothing feels right.

The only way it could get worse than this is if everything was covered in snow.

I am not having fun.

Calm down girl...it's not like this weeks race is any harder then last weeks race on the Nurburgring... you can do it!
If you take my advice & Use the force!......you'll be good to go! :D

HA!It does my rivals good to see me climb out of my Midnight Purple Skyline '00 and throwing my helmet at the pit chief :P

I actually removed all the settings I had adopted from someone else (same car), because they were way too wrong for my driving style ... I also do better by starting a car from stock, racing a few laps, and then slowly adding pieces to see how they affect the car; it takes longer, but the net result is always better (I did this in New York also ... first 10 laps were pure STOCK).

At 500hp ... no fly sheel, no tranny, no suspension, no drive rod and etc ... I finally started to get a feel for this beast and broke the 1'00 mark; adding the extra pieces and starting to tune should bring it down even further .. so hopefully this love-hate relationship I've developed with the car and track (or is that hate-hate?) will still keep me competitive.

One thing about the Purple Car's Driver ... she's one stubborn little mofo.

That poor purple skyline is gonna have a rough time! 5 days fo being berated & fiddle with, then driven to the junkyard :)

Ridden roughshod and sucking up gravel too many times? Maybe.

Junkyard? NEVER! She's a beaut and I'm glad to have her in my garage.

What a shame we can't tweak with the body work and visuals a little more ... I'd have some fun with this one, make no mistake.

I bought Forza a couple of weeks ago and while I just can't get into the driving nor the graphics, the options to play with the visuals of the car were pretty neat ... a little clumsy, perhaps, but even just adding different body kits and being able to spray the car any color was a welcome relief.

Still, I'd put purple under body lights and neon wheels on this thing if I got my way.

thats not good girl. if its not fun then its not you!

stop for a while look at something else square (like some of the serious drivers on here!!! ) and then go back and try again.

if that fails then just sit back and let us all beat ya!!!

would be nice not to finish in the bottom 5 on my first official race!

Yeah, thats what i mean, auto modelista was the same for me, not much to play, but fun to fiddle around with cars exterios as well as whats under the hood :)

use the force......??

am i using the right car?? thought it had to be a skyline???

hehehe - just trying to make kolyanna smile! 👍

I'm having more fun since figuring out

a) I had to ditch all my settings and start from scratch ... it's the way I work best
b) WHich car to use (for my style)
c) That the car just happened to be purple ... and looks gorgeous, did I mention that yet?

Seriously, I'm not a fan of the skylines or the track in general, but I made some progress yesterday and even moved myself into the top positions - and this was without a lot of the parts being installed on the car. I have no illusions of a podium position (and there are too many fast D3 guys who don't post their splits, so there are a few up ahead of me there that we don't know about), but if I can finish well ... that's all I need ... a good showing each week :P

You know, when I first started out in week #1 I got 20th and I was pretty happy with that ... a week later (I think) I scored 11th and not long after 2nd ... so I really like to try and finish in the top ten; I feel like I'm not trying hard enough unless I do.

Or something.

Anyway, I'm happier with everything today than I was a day or so ago ... haven't thrown a helmet at the pit chief in HOURS!

And if you think I was unhappy there, wait until we run on snow or gravel ... maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan I suck at both (unfortunate, because in Rallysport Challenge on the Xbox I was pretty damn good, but here in Gt4 with the DFP? forget about it!)

100 drivers eh??? at least i now know my finishing position at the end of this week........

oh hum

You'll do fine girl ... believe me. I finished 20th on my first week and really had to work to get there, but if you drive often you'll get better. It's very much worth downloading replays from the fast guys (if you can), because often it'll show you how to think about some corners and combinations of corners differently.

I remember a few weeks ago I was BEMUSED at the whole concept of driving slow through corner "A" in order to take "B" and "C" quicker ... I could understand the concept, but there is no way that I could look at a track and decide that a particular corner was such a candidate.

Likewise, I've always ridden hairpins on the rumblestrips, but have since learned that there are other ways.

With experience, it is surprising how quickly you can pick things up! And never be afraid to ask ... guys around here will ALWAYS volunteer their help on car selections, setups, your driving line and just about anything else!

exactly, the best way is to observe & just learn from seeing & doing, dont be afraid ot experiment, just yesterday i was thining i was at the best i could get on this race, then i pulled out a diff skylien and within 5 laps had knocked 1.2 seconds off my time, just work hard, and pit your best lap vs b-spec bob, if you beat him its always a good thing :)

Yea I can Blue .. 6 races.. 5 starts, then last week I DNF'ed ... and I TRIED to get it clean...

I do have a time for this week though and still haven't had any tuning to it yet. But know that 1'00 mark will be easy to obtain I think.

@Nat .. sorry had to laugh this morning reading ya posts back and forth with people. Seeing the no suspension, no tranny, ect... first thought I had come to mind was.. Man she out there doing sub 1' 00's doing it the flintstone way..

foot power :P

Wish I understood cars better and tuning. It took me forever to tune my EVO VII in GT3, to just how I wanted it, and seems I can never get a good tune in a weeks time.

Messed around a little bit tuning finally last night, but when I go back to orgianl settings I had, before tuning, it seemed I did WORSE than what I did before the tuning. SIGH, it is Friday, and have tons of time today after work to toy with it. Maybe I need to go car shopping once again, but right now running my '00 GT-R at 500 HP.

@Teledriel ... man, I don't understand settings either, that's why I typically start with everything stripped out (I buy it, just don't install it). Heck, in New York I even stripped out all the HP mods, but here I put them in, had everything else out and started adding a little bit at a time.

I've actually left the suspension for now (yeah, Flintstones is the sort of thing that came to my mind, too!) ... flysheels, drive shafts ... left them all off. First thing I actually put on was the LSD, because the back end was all over the place, but I didn't tweak it at all.

After 2 whole days and almost all of today of no runs, I finally get some time only to be cancelled by thunderstorms. :grumpy:
I'm gonna be on the bottom this week. Gimme another racecar. :mischievous:

Lightning gets real bad down here. Power surges when they run through. I get nervous saving my data in fear of it cutting off in the middle of it.

Wheee! just picked up my DFP! now for the next few days i'm gonna be more useless than ever! *demotes himself to div 4*
