Hey.

I'm new to the WRS but not to online racing. I did a lot in GT3 and this is my first online race (series) for GT4. I don't plan to be winning much but I do love the next track... The Ring. See you all on the track and good luck. Kudos to Large Frys after seeing his time on the last race. He would have placed like seventh in Div. 2 Peace,

Drifting 4 Ever

Gratz Nat and OG... and off to see where i did against LMM, as he was not on the list last night when I looked before bed, and as normal, alot of reading to catch up on.

@Nat ty.. hehe I see almost 100 posts on the Ring thread all ready, so I will have alot of catching up to do later.

Gratz Large on ya promotion. I don't have to say anythign, cause well, ya just blew us away each time :P Ya will do fine.

I suspect I may have hit the "preview post" button instead of submit message when sending my time into CFM. In any case, it's cleared up now, and I'm on the list (not high enough and my son beat me ... again).

I hope I get enough time this week to make a good showing, but I think I've driven a total of 5 laps so far on the 'ring so we'll see how it goes.

I shouldn't have missed Week 3. That looked like a fun combo. :( Oh well, hello Teledriel.

It ok Black, RL and such always comes before GT4, MHO. I will have a week here that I will get 1 day to run the race, cause I will be going home for 10 days in June.

GL all on the Ring, I know if it weren't for Nat and I practicing the past few weeks, bouncing times, I would prolly be way behine the dust ball of everyone. I hope that the practice helped alot. Guess will see later today, got to make a little cash again first though.

Phew, just finished all the reading fiunally too. Aleways a busy day around the WRS area on race results day.

Hey Chris,

mornin!

If you and Nat been practicing, you'll do ok mate! This car has MOUNTAINS of grip, just watch those landings! :banghead:
It takes off nicely, but sometimes lands with a bump and wiggle! (Barrier-city here we come)

GL mate and let's see some good times!

Neil

Nat, do you have ASM off? I kind of have a bit of an advantage because I had a TTR in GT Mode and I logged 700 racing miles on it. :D But just keep practicing. I still have to get back that 4 sec lead I lost on that lap. So that means I have lots of improvement to do on my time.

I just ran a 1.08 T2, so there's hope for me yet ... but talk about driving by the seat of your pants! AAARRRGGHHH!!!

And I'm running with NO aids.

💡

I need aids. :indiff:

< goes out and paints a big white line on the track for Black to follow...

How that fer an aid? :sly:

I know I will have same issues when I first run a few laps, not to get use to the Ring, but to the car it self.

Oy I'm already getting to the times where my ghost is hard to beat and I keep on messing up and I get frustrated. :(

Talk about your drug addiction.
Addiction? No, the addiction is, "One more lap. Just one more lap. That's all I need. . . . . Shoot, that was almost better. Just one more, then I'll really be done." :ill:

*sigh* I say you haven't lived until you've spent an entire day on one track with one car just trying to shave milliseconds off of your time. Truly blissful to this one. :)

Are you being mean? Because I was serious! I love being a lazy arse and racing a track for hours on ends just racing myself!

Okay...see? Maybe I'm crazy?

Oh no, I was being dead serious ... a few weeks ago when we were throwing a JGTC around, chopping off .1 seconds off my best time was NIRVANA ... I'm not being sarcastic or anything, it's the best feeling in the world!

I remember last week when I ran a good time in New York, I was whooping and hollering and smiling ... I swear my flatmate thought I was on drugs!

Hey Nat,

You're flying with your tail afire again this week!
Wont be long b4 CFM reaches into the d3 tank with his net and moves you into the d2 tank with the faster and bigger-toothed fish!

Improved by over 13 secs tonite alone, but still being over cautious into some of the corners.
Didn't discover that the tt can take the 2rt's after t1 in 6th(Ballstothewall) or that it could do the lft b4 t2 flat-stick in 6th too untill three hours ago.

Be seeing ya in rear-view mirror soonly! I hope! :D

BTW did ya see the map i found? It's in the main wrs6 thread post #227, it's quite clear and easy to use.

Neil

Hey Balls! Yeah I'm not doing tooooo badly, but I'm still 7 seconds off where I'd like to be :P

Here's to hoping that I don't get moved anywhere before I'm ready ... maybe in another 6 weeks or so :P

I did see that map, yes, but I already have a pdf of the entire Ring, with instructions on how to take each corner blow by blow ... I got my B/f to print it out in color (with binding) and it looks really stylish.

Of course, reading about it and doing it are two different beasts, esp. because the write up is for a bmw and we're in a rocket cockroach :P

Yeah seen that too!

Would be nice if it had more consistantly laid out track-diag's, but still is usefull!

Wish i knew how the fast-boys were putting in 1,04's in the first 2 sectors?

Mind you, as someone else has pointed out, this track certainly let's you know WHO has un-interupted time to run this combo, i have only managed about 10 laps where i haven't had to divide my attention!
The Foster-kid's been an absolute ars*-hole this week. He has not given me an hour's peace in which to piece together 5-6 laps. I am constantly having to re-set after an interuption!

Life's a BE-AT-CH!

Oh man, you can't play with interruptions ... that's a killer on any track, never mind one 6 minutes long! HEAVENS!

I've been getting so worked up, so angry over this one ... and that's without outside interruption. I can't comprehend the damage I'd do if a PERSON came in and ruined a good lap. URK!

I'm the most peaceful person on the planet, but put me in this combo and it all goes to hell in a handbasket :dopey:

I have NOOOOOOOOOO idea how the fast guys are putting in such incredible first sectors ... I can manage a low 1'06 easily, a sub 1'06 sometimes ... but 1'04? Are you kidding me? I'm not even sure where on the track they're doing this!

I tried following one of H0t's ghosts a few races back and even on the same line I couldn't keep up ... it's weird, like they just manage to drive 1mph more and it makes alllll the difference.
