Well Nat, congradulations on claiming 3rd. This is your second podium finish. You've earned it. I know you worked hard for it.

Now about the DS2. Naturally you would be quicker on it because you can counter steer extremely quick where as on the DFP you have to phsyicially do it. With the lay-out of the controller, it is remappable. I have the most confusing setup anyone has ever seen. Anyone who plays on it is doomed (they hate me for it).
I can tell you what it is and explain why I set it up like that if you like.

WEEE! 6th place finish... *happy puppy*

And I'm impressed with some of the times Div3 drivers pulled... I mean, those beat most Div2 drivers.

Congrats to KLR142 for taking week 7's #1 spot.

@Darkwind and @RedWolf ... it's a humbling experience, isn't it? As quick as you think you are, there are a bunch of drivers here who are quicker ... sometimes they post times so damn quick, it makes you wonder if you have 4 wheels on your car.

Don't be disallusioned though, by racing regularly and watching the replays of the faster guys, you can improve your own 'game' :P

@Bleu ... thanks man ... to be honest I really didn't expect a podium position, so it was a pretty awesome thing to wake up to. I couldn't touch KLR and Solrac ... but then most of Division 2 couldn't, either :P

@Circa, amp & rot ... sorry guys ... I ran a few more laps last night to get a quicker final section and trimmed maybe .5 off my time ... looks like - for me - it was worth doing; .009 between me and circa86 ... *OUCH*!

@Teledriel .. 17th man ... congratulations.

I just qualified for division 3 yesterday but i've missed the deadline for the skyline challenge.
Welcome Matt and the other new peoples! (Matt, at the time you posted this, you actually had two hours left to drive, I don't know if you knew that or not...)

About using DS2 vs DFP... You can adjust the quickness of the steering can't you? Or can you NOT do that with the DFP? I was thinking that I'd put down a quicker time this week if I had a DFP because I'd be able to take a smoother line and put more power down to the ground, avoid unneccessary slipping... But I can imagine it's tougher than I'm imagining! Lol.

Thanks for the congrats everyone! I'll see you all next week in the BENTLEY w00000! I love that car... Peace!

amp88 managed to beat me by .001, doesn't get much closer than that. LOL

I forgive you :)

Your car is purple after all...

Heeeeeeey, that was the whole point behind me driving it. If they had a pink Skyline with 3 wheels, I'd be in that instead! :P

I see you riding the peach colored Citroen 2CV if that ever happens to be in a WRS, hehe.

And I SO hate LeSarthe. Not a big fan of the Le Mans endurance race in real life either. The track is just way too loooooooooooong with a major lack of turns, ah well. No Top10 finish for me this week, hehe. *looks at Bronze time he just achieved*

 KLR142, solrac and Koly for taking the podium this week , well done and fought right to the wire , well deserved. In fact a very close top 6 👍.
Hope I can give some of you a bit more competion this week :mischievous: , though ive only got a bronze on this test by the skin of my teeth so ive got a bit of catching up to do i fear.
Good Luck everyone 👍

Steve

I hear you, Steve57.

But I tried LeSarthe in GT mode with a stock Bentley and it seems to handle the same. So I'm doing that to improve, cause restarting a lap every time you go off track drives me insane during those license tests. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I heard that one of the key factors of doing well at lemans is getting through the right at the end of mulsanne in third gear. It's proving tough, i'm soo close to a silver now. The thing I dont like about this challenge is how twitchy the car gets on those huge straights, especially the one after mulsanne which is rly thin. I always lose my nerve there. I'm hoping to get in the top 20, as this is my first race that would make me very happy. I'm off now to practice some more.

Peace out,
Matt

oh, btw peeps im not new to gtplanet it's just my previous 2 accounts stopped working.

GOOD THINKING! Thanks for the idea. Mucho appreciated!

I actually think it handles damn well... I like it a lot. It's not toooo snappy oversteery, that's just the mid engine talking :-D I haven't spun out yet except for when a wheel goes off pavement.

solrac
wow this car feels awful without tuning... snap oversteer anyone?

lol yeh.
I keep getting a quick snap after the left right before teh rouge.
Just to get a rough idea of the times you div 3ers are getting what trophie has your time earnt you?
I'm on the brink of silver right now but still much more trying to come.

My first clean lap was a couple of seconds off of being bronze... And then my second lap was about one second off of gold. If we're allowed to use ALL of the track as long as the game deems it legal and we don't hit any walls, I will be in the Gold range... But I'm at the top of Div. 3...

EDIT: Oh, when I said "second lap" up there, I meant second clean lap, during which I did many tries but no completions, and improved in almost every one of them... So it's not like I just did two/three laps and came up with that time. I actually spent some time on it, but I'm going to practice in GT Mode until I get a line down in my head, then I'll take it to the license test. And I'm waiting on hearing about the "legality" issues as well...

My current fastest lap has me well within gold time. That's if we're allowed times that GT4 deems legal, still waiting for clarification of the rules from CFM. Before I started this, I had a bronze for the license. On my first clean lap I got a silver and on my second clean lap I was within gold by a decent margin.

You have to be smooth too, and remember that sometimes backing off the throttle to lose speed is worse than taking the corner at the speed you were going as you've upset the balance of the car and not shed a lot of speed.

I was also thinking of trying it in gt mode so I dont have to keep going to restart when i slide off. Where do you win the Bentley Speed 8?

As irony would have it, you must win it from the Sarthe II 24hr race.

@Nat ~ TY .. will get over to results area in a few... as ya know I must wade through all day worth of posts on a results day. That takes awhile.

And happy that I did get a top 20, thought I might, but ya never know when alot of people Submit with out knowing where they were during the week.

Also, check mail hun, found the mistake.

Man I miss my PS2. This week looks really good. Oh well. I've got a project I want to do once my PS2 comes back, and then it'll be back to the WRS. Heck depending on the combo and how early in the week it is, I might scrap it and come strait back here. :D
