What are the *small* additions, that you want to see in GT7?

In reality, all non-editable liveries become editable with a few simple steps.

Apply the livery in GT Auto, save it, go back to "Load Style" and apply the now editable version from "My items". Then you can modify it as much as you like.
Is there any way to take someone else’s livery and use it as a base for your own livery, then save that and share it with others?

I’m working on a Porsche GT4RS livery but started by using someone else’s livery first. I’ve made tons of modifications and adjustments to make it more accurate, but once it is done the game will likely not let me share it because it will say it is someone else’s livery.

Is there any way to bypass that?

Not that I know of. I understand not sharing so you can't take credit for someone else's initial idea and design, but yeah...sometimes I change so much that I really would love to share it.

-A black/whitelist for individual cars and parts would really help out in lobbies.

-Something else I want ever since the hybrid LMP's got nerfed is the ablility to tune hybrid deployment. Give a power level and speed range, and put it under the ECU slider.
-Also, the ECU and power restrictor sliders should adjust by 0.1% instead of 1%.
-Have the UI boost gauge adjust to the car's maximum boost like the speedo and rev counter does.
-Add braking stats to the tuning sidebar.
-Add a live telemetry display, Forza-style.
-And a live timing screen in replays. Sport had one, but not 7, wtf?
-And PLEASE, give us the ability to choose exact time, weather and wind in TT and customs.

I should probably add double-file rolling starts and real-time pitstops, but that falls under "big" for me.

It would be fantastic if we could choose each decal's texture individually (shiny, matte, chrome, etc.) in the livery editor. It would make things a lot easier, especially with i.e. drift car liveries. I know there are workarounds but they're still a bit of a hassle.

I dont know if it already came up but accurate back and side view mirrors would enhance the immersion massively.
I always drive in cockpit view. Would love to see the DRS on the GT3RS move in the background. Especially in VR!

oh and maybe bring back the Tourist version of the Nordschleife back to online lobbies...

Not sure if it's small - it may only be possible in the next GT - but I'd genuinely love to see more classes be part of the Manufacturers Cup, especially as we see more and more brands join LMH/LMDh in real life. Perhaps it could even include road cars.

Said road cars could be from all across various eras, and would be pre-tuned - perhaps even with engine swaps in some cases - but would all be roughly the same PP (perhaps 600) and races with them would use the various Sports tire compounds. Of course, they'd likely have notably different characteristics, just as we see in the actual categories like Gr.3. For example, I had this swapped Honda S800 that only has 222 HP, but it weighs so little, it feels incredibly fast when used for various WTC 600 events. Heck, upon completion of the season, you could even be gifted the pre-tuned road car you were assigned for your manufacturer.

EDIT: I suppose one question would be whether the road cars should be relatively random and then tuned to about 600 PP, or if the models should actually come with around 600 PP as-stock and then perhaps lightly tuned if necessary? Or could there be multiple road car options for automakers, like we see with the more formal categories? We all know of the many Gr.3 options for BMW, or the various Gr.1 racers you can get from Audi and Toyota. In this regard, some automakers may only have one road car that could really work, like with how the GT by Citroen Road Car comes with about 600 PP as-stock, but I don't see the brand having another model that could reach 600 PP. (Unless a swapped DS 21 could do so.) Meanwhile, Honda could have both that aforementioned swapped S800 and the 2nd-gen NSX.

During the race on top left there is the list of other drivers and where I am comparing to all the other.
I would like to see, after the name, which tire type they are using in that moment (and not only when they are in the box to change it).

This gets mentioned a lot, but I’m not sure it would make the massive difference people think it would. In sports mode the strategies are so simplistic they usually come down to 1 or 2 viable ones and they end up close in total race time usually so there is very little to be gained adding that to the UI in my opinion.

Off line possibly it would be useful but the AI is pretty bad at decision making anyway?

Yes it is true.
I was thinking that when I do races off line against AI and the rain is coming I see some cars going to the box to discover later in the replay they didn't changed the tires and remained with the slick.

We know that AI is pretty bad (or bad programmed) but once all the race will see Sophy running, it would be interesting to see if some drivers will keep a conservative strategy or moving to a more aggressive or gambling (hoping that Sophy doesn't know in advance the full weather forecast...).

  • A random sort in the garage in case you want to drive something but don't know what (or maybe just a 'pick random car' option).
  • Forgot if I mentioned before, but also the ability to sort by ascending without needing to switch to list view.
  • Speaking of list view, a third view that lets you browse the cars in your garage in a different way that focuses on the cars. As in like on GT5 when you're in arcade and selecting a car from your garage. Instead of tiles/a list, you can see the car in full with a horizontal car selector.
  • In the tuning shop, a button to access the car's settings (I'm sure this has been said before)
  • Some small way of knowing (warning) when you've detuned a car before you enter a race. On many occasions I've been smoked in a career race and only realized at the end I previously set the power restricter to 70% :banghead:! Maybe I'm just clumsy.
  • Stop showing me the 'time set' screen after quitting a time trial when I haven't set a time.
  • Menu skips
    • eg. if you're in GT auto and want to change car, a button labeled 'Jump to garage'. I feel like perhaps Polyphony doesn't usually add 'change car' options to different venues because it might make the garage seem kind of pointless. So a quick button to be taken to the garage would be nice instead.
(hoping that Sophy doesn't know in advance the full weather forecast...).
Agreed. On a similar note I notice the regular AI in the game knows the exact millisecond to launch during a false start check. Hopefully Sophy doesn't carry this behavior over and has realistic reaction times considered.

I think it would be cool a way to extend the games life is you could adjust the number of laps for a career campaign race and the payout of course adjusts according. Say you want to do 10 laps around Tokyo Sunday Cup without having to restart the race all the time, payout by default on that event is 27k for 2 laps so multiply that accordingly... 27 x 5...

It would not only let us do the unfortunate grind easier, but you could even use this to make endurance races out of just about every SP career event if you wanted to.

Grid 2019 has it. And that would work wonders in GT7....

Another "small detail" I'd like to have: let me discard the damn Sony Afeela. 😅

I would love some Racing seats and steering wheel rims. It really ruins the feel of your own “project car” when from outside it looks serious and properly tuned but inside stock look ruins the immersion 🫠

Someday GT will have NFSU2 levels of customization, but I feel that day might not come for another 7 more games. I mean, look how long it took us to get engine swaps, wide bodies, livery editor, and roll cages? :guilty:

The next logical step is racing wheels and seats, but I still want more than that... I still want more headlight color options. If I want green headlights instead of yellow, then why not? Not like cars in this game need to be road legal anyway.

Edit: Speaking of road legal, I still wouldn't mind paying extra credits to reset the odometer. I know it's not legal IRL, but I've argued it before - this is a game and as such there is no insurance and no real concept of fraud by doing it.

I would like it, but HIGHLY doubt. Besides, as a person that is NOT you, Christmas tree lights driving around the track in my rearview would be annoying. Thats why its illegal....it would annoy and distract people. Shoot, bouncing HID get me every time as I think its the police for a split second.

Nawwwwww. I see the what your trying to get at but a "trip" odometer would have the same effect without the sacrilege. Or hell, lets just get rid of "mileage" altogether or introduce actual engine wear. idk where in world you can purchase a used car with over 100k miles/kilometers that still runs like brand new, much less immediately put it on a track.

EDIT: You know what? Yea just get rid of mileage altogether. Its not being utilized in any way, fashion or form. It doesn't affect the price, value or performance.

As a person that is NOT you, I wouldn't find that any more annoying than extremely bright white LEDs you typically see on modern cars.

As for your second part, I'm not sure I understand how buying a car with 50k fake miles and then resetting the odometer to zero is sacrilege? Seems like that would be the reverse. Mileage isn't useless as it's a way of knowing how many miles you've invested into a car. However, with all the fake mileage the UCD and LCD has it can be difficult to know exactly your distance invested.

The easiest solution would be to just put all cars in BC (as it should've been day 1), but getting rid of mileage altogether is not something I support.

Edit: The feature would be entirely optional so I'm not really sure why you're against it. No one would force you to use it. But at the moment we're all forced to buy cars with fake mileage.

Edit 2: I'd like to emphasize that we're talking about a video game. What happens in reality doesn't always make for a fun game, and in many aspects of GT7's design, it would be better in GT took itself a little less serious and let us go all-out on car customization and let us have our classic cars with 0 mileage.

The best way I would be able to explain it would be like up-badging your car. I mean you could do it, its not hurting anyone or anything but.....you just don't though. Yes, its a video game but its a video game that, at the very least, TRIES to air on the side of reality. You have to respect that. Let's not ask Taco Bell to make a cheeseburger.

Who said I wasn't? Because I asked for the ability to have a car with zero mileage? I'm not asking for a flying bike here.

What if we could have "distance driven" visible for our cars, wouldn't it be nice ? What a genious feature nobody thought before !
