Actually, you're not supposed to wash cast iron pans. Just pour some salt in the pan to soak up the fat, let it sit for a while to let the salt do it's thing, then whipe it out with a paper towel. Done.

The more carbon you put on it, the better your food cooks and tastes.

Interesting. I never knew that. Thanks for the heads up.

You can still get them.

Most stores will sell you teflon ones but if you go to a store that a chef would use they would have them.

Not the kind I want. You can get cast iron pans but they are all bumpy across the surface, I want a smooth one and I'm not willing to pay $100 for a damn frying pan. I'm sure you can get them online but I have enough pans right now.

Can you still get the big 4 burner cast iron pans? Mine kind of looks like this, but with 2 handles that look like the one on the left. It covers the entire stove. It was passed down to us.

Dinner was a big pile of chorizo nachos, made with habanero rotel, and a can of that bright orange nacho cheese that one finds at sports arenas.

To drink it was rum and cokes, and now some blackberry moonshine.

Got to admit, I'm feeling pretty good aside from my insides being on fire.

I guess it could be considered one but t wouldn't fit in your oven I can garuntee that. It's literally a big round giant cast iron frying pan that takes up the entire stove top. It's outside but ill try to get pics of it. Never seen another one in my life. Comes in handy when making a lot of food. I've made pancakes, hash browns, eggs and bacon all at once in this pan. It's huge.

It's basically this but will cover the entire top of the stove and then some. Think it measures 2 1/2 maybe 3 feet wide give or take.

The Gobbler from Red Cow. Smoked turkey club with bacon jam. Cowboy potatoes-- a loaded mash-- on the side.

That thing must weigh at least 20lb.

You bet. Thing is really heavy. Wish I could find another one.

Edit

Here's mine. It's a Griswold 20" skillet, just under 2 feet. I thought it was a bit bigger. It was made in Erie, PA and apparently pretty rare. Its the biggest you could get. It's worth about $400.

Sorry, forgot to take pics. Got that one of the internet.

I've been eating a lot of meats, potatoes and kraut, and drinking a lot of beer. But I guess that's pretty standard in Germany. ;)

Dinner was a Pastrami Dinner and clearing out the fridge: Pastrami sammich, fries, mash with stuffing and chocolate browning for dessert.
