Smoked Chicken with Bloemkoolstamppot

I went to a different grocery store and found this, 2 for $5.00.

I love gumbo, and the first 3 ingredients were water, chicken thigh meat, and sausage, so I thought I'd check it out.

Well I guess I agree, but there was WAY more water than anything else, so after I nuked it enough to thaw it and stir, I added a can of chicken.

If you are looking for something with a rich dark roux look elsewhere. This gumbo's roux was very blonde and bland.

After dashing on a some of this though,

it was very good.

Last night was buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese dressing.

Tonight will be potato/cheddar pierogies and kielbasa, with extra hot horseradish.

Triple Steakburger and fries

EDIT:
I forgot dessert.

Frozen yogurt. Orange and strawberry with fruity pebbles, nerds, sprinkles, snow caps, fresh strawberries, strawberry syrup, and strawberry boba poppers...all in a homemade waffle bowl.

Fixed with screenshot of how it looks on my phone.

Rotate or get android where right side up does not mean upside down.
My normal way comes in upside down. I flipped it this time. Unless iOS7.1 flipped the orientation on me, I can't win. Curiously, pics taken with my iPad never come through upside down.

Test time: Which is upside down?

Some noodles from a noodle bar in Nottingham. Somehow it was still piping hot after a half hour walk home.
It was really nice until I found broccoli in it. I cannot stand that stuff. :yuck:

Who are you, George Bush (Senior, not W)?

Even my four year old eats broccoli.

There are 3 things that I dislike so much that they make me sick (and I mean spew not just feel sick) if I try and eat them. Those are boccoli, cauliflower and beetroot.

I feel the same way for brussel sprouts. No matter how much bacon you add, I will not eat them!!!

Speaking of bacon, I had some of these.

Made myself a whiskey sour. You can't really order nice drinks at most places we go so I thought I'd try my hand at making one on my own. I'm quite pleased with my efforts, actually, it's really nice. Made my own simple syrup and juiced the lemons and everything.

A whiskey sour is a nice drink where you're from?

Maybe I need to step outside bourbon country. That's a cheap version of what people around here drink all the time. If a bartender can't make a whiskey sour he/she shouldn't be a bartender. That said, finding a bartender who knows how to properly make most drinks is rare. You'll get something close, but rarely proper. Like shaking a martini. You don't do it.

Oh dear.
I should take you to Surrey where they make proper drinks and charge you over £100 for the privilege.

Well, I think it's quite nice. But most importantly, it doesn't take much to make it and it's fairly cheap. Remember, I'm a student! You can't even order a martini at most of the places I've been to!

Also, I did a tiny bit of research and apparently most bars make them from mixes, which sound frankly awful, whereas I made mine from scratch.

My mate brought me a bottle of Chouchen from his home town in Brittany yesterday... it tastes a bit like Honey and Lemon glycerol that you might take when you have a sore throat, but it is also 12 % alcohol. Fortunately, I like both of those things alot :D It looks a bit like this, but with Glasgow in the background and not flowers.
