Dinner tonight

With tater tots and root beer floats. Yummy!
I had way too many BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes and corn tonight and yet I'm positive I could still choke that thing down.

Let me reassure you. The burger was as delicious as it looks. I had two, in fact. With two root beer floats. (I've lost some weight in the recent months. I'm trying to gain some back, obviously.)

I've been eating relatively healthy and have been watching my calories... I hate you all for showcasing so much good food.

My lunch:

Turkey & Cheese on Pita.. this is just something that looks similar.

Bag of unsalted cashews (Those are salted, I know.)

Though I do have my weekend cheats (I ate a slice of pizza, had a steak tip wrap (still kinda healthy), a phillycheese w/ fries this weekend), I've lost 16lbs by eating decently during the week days.

I suspect some weight gain during spring break due to my mom cooking armies worth of food, though I have my mind set on what not to eat.

Two keys: Consistancy - Willpower

Corned Beef and cabbage for St. Patty's Day.

The corned beef in the photo above is not mine. My corned beef is uncooked, still in a plastic bag.

Went to Wagamama again. Still the worst excuse for a ramen bar I have ever seen. Unfortunately it is the only excuse for a ramen bar around here so I make do.

I work for a small restaurant chain. The boss is out of town so I had to go to one of the stores to pick up the payroll.

One of the advantages of working for a restaurant company is that I really get to have it my way.

Here is an 8" pizza I made today.

It has diced tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. Crumbled feta, green olives and mozzarella, then it is topped with anchovy pieces. Not shown in the picture is parmesan cheese that is sprinkled on the anchovies.

The oil on the anchovies fries the parmesan. It is so good.

St. Patrick's Day Leftovers for dinner. Breakfast this morning was Jif Peanut Butter Cereal.

Last night I had a spoonful of Reese Peanut butter. Dear lord that stuff is deadly.

Lunch today was a salad and some "tiny octopus salad" from my grocery's sushi counter. I am actually spreading the octopus out over a few days, as it has too much sodium for one sitting.

And dinner was venison pot roast. My daughter actually went back for thirds.

My son wanted to go to Rhombus Guys (local pizza joint) for his birthday. My wife had a gluten-free "Angry Dragon" (sausage, jalapeño and Sriracha) which the few bites I had was rather tasty and the boys and I split a half "T-Rex" (meat, meat and meat) and half "Happy Pig" (Canadian bacon, ham, pineapple and pepperoncinis. Best pizza I've had in a long time.

Big dinner of cleaning out the fridge/freezer tonight.

Crab Cakes, Mash 'N Grave, Grilled Cabbage and Mac 'N Cheese. Mint Chocolate-Mint Chip Ice Cream for Dessert.

Took my wife to The Cheesecake Factory for her birthday. I had Pasta da Vinci (ione of their lowest sodium entrees at 350mg for the lunch portion) and Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake.

Their lunch portions are ridiculously large. I've never done dinner there, but can only imagine.

I had a craving, but they weren't that great.
I have never seen those, but I do from time to time get these:

As you can see it is Gravy and Salisbury Steaks. They are floating in it. But the gravy is good, and goes well over mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.

The price, which was $1.99 for the longest time, has sky rocketed to nearly $2.50 now:lol:, but for three meals it is worth it.

I refer to these as industrial strength Salisbury steaks, because they remind me of the stuff they served in school.

Are those things floating in red sauce, or is the sauce in packets on the side?

They were floating in the red sauce. I managed to down 3 of the 6 "veal" patties (they tasted just like giant chicken nuggets to me) plus a side of green beans.

I got a box of the Salisbury steaks in the freezer as well, goes great with mashed potatoes but I didn't have any so I went with the veal. Both kinds were served to us as kids when dad was out of town and mom was too busy to cook something.

Is that home-made? Just checking . . .

Agree. Very interesting sandwich. Good mixture of naughty and nice.

You are eating healthy.
And no, the food fight in here doesn't help to walk the straight and narrow.

St. Paddy's day was a riot here, though I didn't see any patties flung around. Lots of green. Everything. Good for the eyes.

@TB - out here in Scarborough (supposed to be the dining capital of the world, really - :boggled: - ) there is a restaurant some blocks away from me that has cracked billions of eggs, and squeezed millions of ranges. their breakfast is world famous. But on any gven Sunday you may find a number of locals in there - families that reside in the area who come in for the big pancake breakfast - and its a dish of pancakes, drenched in maple syrup, with breakfast sausages, a slice of ham, and several rashers of bacon - sometimes regular, sometimes peameal. All this with chopped fruit or whole berries. the only time they complain is when they eat too much - all the groans, and not getting up from the table (since there are others coming in and looking around the crowded place for a table!

Bacon is iffy, though, when mixed - we had quite a stir here at the CNE when the maple bacon jam cronut went wrong at the CNE - and hundreds of people fell ill. The funny part about that investigation was that there was bacteria in the bacon, too - though it was the bacteria in the jam that was causing the most pain.[/QUOTE]
