Broccoli, snow peas and mushrooms. Sauce packets and microwaved. Extra sauce in the tuna. Protein reasons.

Needed something… tartar sauce!

Chopsticks were tough.

:D

Yesterday I made my own miso soup. It was great as instead of the horrid instant stuff I have been getting I got some proper miso and dashi.

Tonight I just had a simple curry.

This morning I made white bean soup. It is so good that I licked every bit of bean soup off my plate.

I have leftover spaghetti sauce and I'm going to put this sauce on my pizza margarita with extra cheese.

I have been searching and searching for good, easy gumbo. A bowl of gumbo in a restaurant here in Houston can cost $10 or more. And I have neither the patience nor the skills required to make it from scratch. Well maybe the skills, but I don't like the idea of standing over the stove stirring roux for an hour.

So I saw this at Kroger the other day. I have had their red beans before and they were pretty good so I thought why not. The 25 oz can was $4.99.

When I first opened the can, it almost smelled burnt, burnt and Smokey.

I added two boiled boneless skinless chicken thighs and about 6oz. of jalapeno smoked sausage.

This rivaled any restaurant gumbo I have had. I love the smokey dark roux flavor.

Had American style prawn toast home made.

Similar to Chinese style just there was so much oil in them that I think the US is coming to claim my body.

Yes, upside down. But there wasn't any whipped cream on it. :(

Had a little bit of habanero chili left in the freezer, not enough for a meal by itself. Mixed in some queso and made some spicy, meaty, cheese dip with tortilla chips.

Homemade (which I made about one and a half hour ago) vegetable soup.

Raw spinach with nutritional yeast, Safran, curry sauce, curry ketchup, and vegan mayonnaise.

Sheila made a buttermilk pie to bring to a gathering this evening and I'm eating the last slice accompanied by a bourbon sidecar.

I'm pretty content right now.

:)
