Taco Friday! Wait...

Marinated some chicken for a few hours and got a nice char on it, made some pico de gallo, and threw it together with some soft corn tortillas, avocado, Pepper Jack, and sour cream.

Pepsi Blue has returned so I bought a bottle to see how it compares to my memory of it and it does not disappoint. The label is rather boring compared to the original though.

On a side note, I'm struggling to come up with snacks from my childhood that were discontinued and haven't been brought back at some point in the last few years. Hopefully that means Fruit String Thing is getting towards the front of the list.

And a pork butt on the smoker for supper tonight

Went to the parents' house last night for some burgers on the grill.

Pre-dinner snack was limburger cheese on crackers, spicy mustard, onions. It tasted pretty good despite smelling like a zombie's underwear.

Bodega brunch. Bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, cheddar cheese, and Cholula hot sauce on an egg everything bagel. All for $4.49. Sandwich was at least 1000 calories and teeming with fat but totally worth it.

Just a cookie with milk chocolate. It's a small cookie so it doesn't have many calories.

Felt semi-fancy, so I made a Pepper Jack French dip sandwich, with pickles and fries on the side, and a chilled pint glass of milk, to enjoy while watching F1's FP1 and 2 highlights at Baku.

Relatives brought over some homemade fried wings. Was rude not to. Much better than any fast food joint.

Slivovitz Sour

1.5oz Manastir Slivovitz
.75oz lemon juice
.75oz simple [syrup]
1 egg white
Fee Brothers plum bitters

Dry shake all but the bitters to break down the egg, add ice and shake to chill, strained into a coupe glass extracting as much foamy head as possible. Three dashes bitters.

I had to look it up because of simple. Simple what?

It seems that it is simple syrup.
