You can't go wrong with an In-N-Out 4x4 burger, unless you're the massive chap I used to see in there who ordered 2 at a time...

I had my first In-N-Out burger in Vegas this summer. It's probably a good thing we don't have one in town.

Preference for "Mexican" is Taco John's.

And I do quite like Arby's and Wendy's various chicken sandwiches.

Yes, they are quite more-ish. Even despite their little hidden Bible verses, I still very much like them and have it on good US authority that they are pretty good employers etc. I would likely be a good couple of stones heavier if I had stayed in Irvine, CA.

I also used to eat at Chick-Fil-A until I found out about the views/comments/behaviour of the owners, which was a shame because I really liked it

I meant the borscht.
I mean, in my childhood you making borscht or you starving to death 🤣 no matter how single you are. Kinda funny to know that somewhere you could survive without cooking skills until 56.

Anyway, being solo is crap.

I don't even drive a car.

I just looked up Domino's for a medium pizza and a chicken side.

Medium pizza.. £20/$22.50

Chicken side.. £11/$12.40

Delivery.. £2/$2.25

Total.. £35/$37

OK, so they give a 'discount' for a 'deal' (25% off orders over £20), but it still comes to over £25/$28 for a medium pizza and a side... :(

I think we need a "What are you NOT eating?" thread...

I mean things which others would consider essential life skills aren't universally required. ¯\(ツ)
No doubt, but to me its still feel strange. Cultural strange, not like you are strange person.

10$ here, 20$ for trio.

5 Guys is good fast food in my book.
They have a small menu and have kept it that way.
Hamburger, cheeseburger, hotdogs and fries. That’s it. Keep it simple. Keep it good.

I tolerate Wendy’s. Spicy chicken sandwich is darn good. Fries are hideous. Have not tried the new strawberry frosty.

I do like Chik-fil-a chicken. All the sandos I’ve had have been tasty. I do not like the beliefs they hold.

I cannot tolerate McDonalds, Burger King or Arbys. I get sick each and every time.

I go to Firehouse subs for those types of meals. Haven’t put a foot in Subways doors in over 10 years. I refuse to go to Jimmy Johns. (My beliefs)

Anyway, tonight I’m grilling NY steaks with smoked onions and mushrooms.

If you mix a couple of these with a small handful of peanuts, it does NOT taste like a Payday candy bar.

I hate candy corn, I love peanuts, I love Paydays. I don't understand how people say mixing them tastes like a Payday.

🤮
Maybe not a Payday but certainly a Salted Nut Roll.

Well, Salted Nut Rolls must be gross!

(I wouldn't know, I've never heard of them... :P)

I like Candy Corn and peanuts and I like Salted Nut Rolls. So take that for what it's worth.

Jalapeño Tequila Sour

2 oz jalapeño-infused Espolòn Blanco
.75 oz jalapeño syrup
.75 oz lemon-lime juice (about 2 parts lemon to 1 part lime)
1 egg white
bitters

Tequila, syrup, citrus juice and egg white shaken without ice to incorporate and foam. Add ice and shake to chill. Strain into a coupe glass, getting as much foam out as possible. 4-5 dashes bitters (I used cranberry).

Very nice. Lots of jalapeño flavor and not too spicy because the tequila was infused without seeds. Syrup was made with seeds, though, so there was a pleasant touch of heat.
