Interesting! Seems weird but not weird. Probably depends on the Chili?
Pretty much the same stuff you would find on a chili dog. I just used some from a can of Hormel that I had around.

The real secret is the Chicago style tamale. Made with cornmeal rather than masa, and processed ground beef, then squeezed through a big Play-Doh like machine. No corn husks, they are wrapped in paper, and typically boiled rather than steamed.

To prepare for tomorrow's Werewolf By Night on Disney+ and Hellraiser on Hulu, I made a buttload of Lad Na Gai (pan fried wide rice noodles in a soy gravy with brocoli (went American) and chicken) tonight, for leftovers tomorrow night. If the shows suck, at least the food will be good. 😬

**not tomorrow... Friday!

Off topic but I am really looking forward to Werewolf by Night since it's directed by Michael Giacchino, the film composer. The only thing I've seen of his as a director was "Ephraim and Dot" from Star Trek: Short Treks, but I loved it.

Attempted to replicate a drink called the Pickle Spritz I had this summer at a chicken joint in Chicago. They used gin and a house-made dill pickle soda. I used gin, and plain seltzer mixed with pickle juice, and managed to get pretty close to what I had in the city.

Trying out a couple of these Pepsi Soda Shop flavors. I like them.

Mezcal Paloma

2 oz Rey Campero Joven mezcal
2 oz Natalie's grapefruit juice
2 oz club soda
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup

Did shrimp burgers for dinner. Super simple with Bibb lettuce and harissa mayo. Also a simple zucchini and cherry tomato salad with feta.

Found a taco place right next to where I live - crazy to think I walk past this place twice a day and never knew it was there. Saying that, they don't call it 'The Hidden Lane' for nothing.

Tacos were great too - £5 each or 3 for £12...

Enjoying some Jim Beam from a bottle given to me by a former coworker. It's one of their Duck Stamp series, circa 1984-85.

Clearly from an era when the company gave out better Christmas gifts than random crap with the company logo on it.

I do miss eating Subway. I haven’t had one in years.
I went on a several years hiatus from Subway because the only thing I ever ordered was the meatball. At some point, I just got tired of it. Now I've grown to like lettuce. So I can order something a little different for once.

I’ve been on a boycott of their franchise since it came out that their PR spokesman, Jared, had fiddled with kids and the company hushed it up.

seafood sensation cause it's the cheapest. That's my go to subway with blue cheese and pepper since it's no longer the meatball sub
