I saw these ads for the new Pizza Hut Melts and figured I’d give it a try. Looks good, right?

This is what it actually looks like.

Despite the less than appealing presentation, it’s not bad. It’s really just Pizza Hut finally getting in on the pizza by the slice business.

A (potential) client from Equator paid us a visit last week and brought some assorted local chocolates, so I'm having bits of this right now:

The salty one's my favourite so far.

Bought some Irish coffee mugs recently and I'm christening them (well, one) with a...hot toddy.

2 oz Redemption High Rye bourbon
¼ oz lemon juice
Squeeze of honey
Boiling water to just below the rim (5 oz, maybe?)

Stir to combine. Lemon peel to garnish.

Dinner was a really good vegetarian cottage pie with mushrooms, leeks, parsnips and chard. Gravy was a vegetable broth base with Annie's vegan Worcestershire sauce. Medium chedder and an egg yolk mixed into the mashed potato topping. Meat genuinely was not missed.

Are you a chef?

For the last thing I posted,

I turned on the oven
Opened the package
Inserted item
Rotated item after 2/3 of the total cook time
Continued cooking for the remaining 1/3
Removed item
Turned off oven
Allowed to cool
Consumed

Am chef now? :P

Before “The Power of the Doctor” aired, I ran out to the local A&W and got myself a double cheeseburger, fries and a root beer. Then I got logy and slept through an hour of the show.

Yeah, I usually get drowsy after I eat sometimes, and it's mostly meat that seems to make me sleepy. Can't figure out why. Annoying at times cause then I can't play gt7 or watch any TV at night.

Meat takes more energy to digest though I'm not sure if that would be linked to the drowsiness.

I’ve found I’m drowsy after I eat a lot for lunch. Digestion drops my blood pressure and occasionally I’ll zone out and then pass out sitting at my desk, mid task.
It’s usually when I consume a lot of carbs that this happens.

Yeah my blood pressure usually runs low when I eat a bunch of carbs/sugary foods. I heard that high nitric oxide causes that too. I have to take pepcid to calm me down.

McRib meal.
Supposedly this is the last time they are releasing it. Which means in a year or two they’ll bring it back due to “popular demand” or something.
It was just alright.
Never had a McRib as they've only very rarely been in the UK, and I've never had one overseas either.

I did, however, have a similar thing from a notorious 'chippy' (fish and chip shop) in Glasgow city centre once many years ago and spent the rest of the weekend on the cludgie.

I eat a Mcrib every once in a while, but only if it's warm and fresh off the grill. I usually dip it in BBQ sauce to make it taste more tangy and spicy.
