What are you expecting from GT6 @ E3

Many gaming websites will have live streams, but Sony's press conference doesn't look like it will appear on Spike TV. But who needs either of those things when we have :gtpflag:

I'd like to see gameplay footage officially released to show the best visuals and audio from cockpit and other views. That will show the graphical improvements better than videos of Tv screens can. Less cgi and more of what we'll see when playing various parts of the game (at least those parts that are not just vapourware)

It's still PS3. How much graphical improvements can you expect really?

My graphical prayers were answered with the shaders being improved wonderfully, from what we've seen of early videos. Though I was really surprised to learn that PD didn't have to drop resolution to 720p in order to accomplish it like I thought they would.

I don't know how they're doing what they are in GT6 to improve just about everything without evidently giving up much of anything. After four years, most developers have plumbed the depths of a system and milked all the resources from it. The PS3 really must be some kind of magic box, and Polyphony magicians, for GT6 to be what it is.

Then you are not looking hard enough. Watch the videos again and tell me with an honest face that the shortcuts done aren't obvious.

Well if you really have to look hard to find the shortcuts they took.
Then I would say they did a good job ;)

You don't have to look very hard to see that the trackside texture quality is all over the place. There are some limitations to the PS3 that you just can't solve, no matter how good a developer you are, and memory is the most obvious one.

I expected no graphical improvement before the first reveal. I would like to see what the improvements that they have announced look like. Even a good broadcast quality video camera won't get spot on results when pointed at a tv. That's why I'm hoping to see what gameplay looks like when captured directly from the game.

Now that the Sony Press Conference for E3 is less then a day away I will say one more hope I have. EXTREMELY UNLIKELY but I hope that Polyphony announce that they have been working on GT7 concurrently with GT6 and that it will be released on the PS4 next holiday season.

And they're worse than in GT5? I didn't notice it.

I'm expecting lots of threads from disapointed people

You could announce the most amazing and perfect thing in the world and there will still be more disappointed threads than there would be threads of praise

It's quite noticable on the Silverstone pictures on GtPlanet's front page. For example on the final picture with the main building, the windows are simply awful textures. Whether you think that's important is of course up for debate, but stating you have to look hard like the other post did is rather wide of the mark.

I don't know, I never really looked intentionally on any windows on that track. I didn't notice it, that's all I said.

On the other hand I don't think it can be a big issue if I didn't even notice it, at least not for me.

It just immediately stood out to me as I was watching that series of Silverstone screens. Some of them highlight parts of the track that you obviously don't get to see up close during racing. It's only during replays or photomode that it matters.

I must say, I really could not care less that some less than perfect textures occur in areas I don't ever see during races, probably not even during replays, and only if you focus on them in photo mode (and why would you do that?). If that's the compromise to make the game overall better, then so be it.

But that's just me.

I expect an announcement that PD and DARPA collaborated on a new generation of AI for GT6. I'm also anticipating they will reveal a new event generator with over 100 options so you can customize your very own race events or series. These events can be shared with other GT6 racers and can also be used to create friendly challenges.

The above would be nice but I really don't expect much this week. I expect more trickling of information until the release of the game. PD may also be waiting on feedback from the demo and GT Academy. They'll have to give us more info after the demo to keep people interested until the release.

Am expecting to see some other tracks and cars in the games, the UI and any other improvements they have made.

Not holding my breath but i'd like to see something about the "livery editor" (yes, no, kind of, a clear answer lol) and more info about the course maker.

With E3 in progress, a "what are you expecting" thread is no longer necessary.

Locked.
