I would post my specs, but getting made fun of is not my thing.

Some people have more money than sense  or they just like to make sure that what ever it is they're using their "super computers" for has enough (maybe too much) grunt.

And some people budgeted and built something themselves that they'll be able to use and enjoy for years ;).

You could say the same about people modifying their cars or buying anything other than an economy car or minivan.

2 or 3 people have posted computers with lower specs. Not one of them has been made fun of.

Or, we build a computer that we won't feel the need to be tempted to purchase new upgrades or a whole new computer every year or two. Buying a more expensive computer that I can use for 3 years makes more sense than buying 2 cheaper computers (that total higher than the one computer) and using each for a year and a half.

Supercomputer? No. Above average? Sure, but as gaming rigs, that kind of comes with the territory. :)

You have seen @ShaZZa's rig, haven't you? Pretty sure he fully understands the "more expensive" route.

Hence his comment about more money than sense. ;)

Yep, his computer is definitely the best all around equipped one in the thread so far. I was more or less just adding to what he was saying.

I have a mediocre at best $700 (AU) laptop, fap fap

MODEL: Dell Inspiron 3521
CPU: Intel Core i7 3537u @ 2GHz, turbo boost to 3.1GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 8730m
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Storage: 1TB
OS: Windows 8 64-bit (refuse to get 8.1).
All of this means
Less than 40fps on Assetto Corsa. Great!

Silly me, can't get a computer (desktop) that is much older (Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz, DDR2 RAM) but
has a better graphics card (GTX 650 Ti), for size reasons.

After reading what you guys have, mine turns out to be rather embarrassing! :P

Personal Gaming Rig (Originally Built in June 2009 - Upgraded July 2013):
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 6400+
GPU: nVidia GeForce 9500GT
Motherboard: Gigabyte M720-US3
RAM: 4GB Corsair Value RAM (666MHz)

PSU: Corsair CX600M
Case: Zalman Z9 Basic
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit

In regards to the wheel I'm using; good old Logitech Driving Force GT hasn't done me too badly over the last 5 years! :D

My old boy from 2004:
-) AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2,2 GHz
-) 3 GB DDR-SD RAM (not sure about clock speed)
-) Some HP case
-) unknown Motherboard
-) unknown PSU (350W)
-) 2x 160 GB HDD
-) nVidia GeForce 6600
-) 17" Acer Monitor
-) HP Keyboard and Mouse set (wireless)

My Laptop:
-) i5-3210m @2,5 GHz
-) 8GB DDR3 RAM
-) nVidia GeForce GT 630M (2GB)
-) 17" TN panel (1600x900)
-) Logitech Mk 270 Wireless Kombo
-) Logitech G100s

I now have four computers (temporarily). I haven't changed either of my desktops, but:

2006 MacBook
- 1.83GHz Core Duo
- 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM (2x1GB)
- 240GB 5,400rpm Western Digital Blue (I think) HDD
- PATA CD/DVD-ROM drive
- Has a battery but it's not recognised
- Display still works, backlight... Sort of works
- Case is cracked, keyboard and trackpad are glass smooth now, which is horrible.

It's soon being swapped with my girlfriend's Dad's mid-2008 MacBook, which used to be mine but I sold it to him (at girlfriend's Dad rates: i.e. £100!), because it's 'dead', I'm guessing it's had too many sudden power-offs because the battery in that is also completely dead and magsafe power adaptors tend to be easy to unplug (which is kind of the point, but you know). So the plan now is to fix that one up, see if I can get it working acceptably well and probably swap them back again since I'm pretty sure the mid-2008 had a Core 2 Duo and a higher RAM limit.

And my fourth computer:

Mid-2013 MacBook Air
- 1.3GHz i5 4250U
- 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
- 256GB PCI SSD
- Err... 2x USB 3.0 ports, 3.5mm audio out, 1x Thunderbolt, SD card reader (why even bother?)
- That's about it. Fortunately the battery in this one works, I'd forgotten what that's like.

HP Envy dv6-7251eo (Yea, it's laptop. Really looking for a parts for a desktop, or possibly being lucky and finding a prebuilt one)

Intel Core i7 3630QM 2.4 GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
NVidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB VRAM
750GB HHD
1366x768 LED screen, though using my 1920x1080 TV, and doing it just fine, with a bearable 20 FPS in games like Simcity (The bad one) on high settings.
3 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0, with 2 2.0 extra from my keyboard and 3 2.0 from my USB hub.

ASUS ROG CG8480 that is starting to get modified with higher spec parts. Just removed the standard GTX 650 for more ooomph but pretty happy with the rest. Just got a few extra bits to do yet.

So, so far:
Motherboard:
ASUS P8Z77 M PRO

Processor:
Intel i5 3570K with 2 stage over clock up to 4.1 GHz

HDD:
1TB 7200rpm Toshiba Drive

GPU:
ASUS GTX 770 2GB DOC

PSU:
Corsair CX600M

RAM:
8GB DDR3

Case:
Republic Of Gamers CG8480 with OC lighting feature
2x Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition fans

Other:
T500RS
Triple Screen ASUS 24" @5760x1080
Sony HTSS1100 5.1 Surround Sound
Custom rig with Cobra Monaco bucket seat

My Desktop is constantly being upgraded (first built in 2008) so I'm not going to pop that on, but I've got these specs on my laptop:

Intel i5-450M 2 core Processor @ 2.4Ghz + Turboboost
AMD Radeon HD5650M GPU, 1Gb
8Gb Crucial RAM (upgraded a year and a bit ago)
WD Scorpio Black 7200rpm HDD with 750Gb space (Bought last year)
Standard DVD-RW drive
2 USB 2.0 Ports + 1 USB2.0/eSata port
SD Card reader (which I've actually used to flash new OSs onto my Beaglebone Black xD)
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN Network Card (Upgraded that too)

It's basically a stock Toshiba Sat-Pro L650-1CH from ages ago now with a couple of tweaks, but I have ordered a replacement which I'll post the specs of when I get it!

Behold my tower of power...
...
I think I have a problem.

Apart from being the Taylor Swift guy? :P
Only messing, I'll proudly say I am a half "swiftie"!
Nice rig!

So, that Titan Z. Gotta say, I'm honestly considering it.

*Checks* Okay, I've posted in here so I'm not a complete moron for posting something off-topic.

Says who? Get thee to the 'ring.

Is it wrong to want to post in here because I bought an EVGA GTX770 Superclocked a couple of weeks ago.. and my old i5-2500K is running at 4.5GHz?

I feel somehow diminished.... :ouch:

I just searched for the Titan Z, because I didn't know what is was or that it even existed...

Now I know what I'm saving up for. :P
