What did you do in GT7 today?

After being away for a bit I got back on it last night and did a custom race with my Spec Miata's. Professional level with weak boost created a runaway pack of 5 in the front that I couldn't catch. No boost resulted in an opportunity to reach the front right near the end with a couple good battles up the grid. Not sure which one I want to have so will do more races and see how the different settings work.

Did a couple Hyper car races with my FXX, Vulcan, 911GT1 and a bonkers LaFerrari I built. All good fun and really enjoyable running big horsepower cars that had to be nerfed to use them prior to the update. I also built a nearly 800hp Raptor and ran it on Trial Mountain, it was quick and silly so that was fun. Lol.

Daily Grind at Sardegna, used the Gr010 which is my fastest car for that race. 4 star ticket and only 30k.

Did the Human Comedy Alsace Mission, the Alpine A110 made it easy.

Did 3 Daily C race a 4th, 5th and a 6th. Solid results in top american split.

Might finish out trying to better my qualifying time for Daily C and some Daily B on my 2nd account.

@Marts - That engine will fit in the Focus RS. I don't know how big a deal it is as I don't have it on either account, and I already tuned an RS for the 700-PP Sarthe event on both accounts.

On the GTP account, I dusted off the 800 PP version of the Supra GT500 and took it to Sardegna. It was very disappointing - I had to turn it down to FM4 to make it 5 laps on fuel, and the RM tires that are part of the tune don't even last that long. All that for mostly 1:40 laps, and a 20-second spin on lap 10. Still, a win (23 seconds on the usual normal) is a win, even if the 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the usual lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. I wasted the money on a third Supra GT500 so I have an unmodified Hagerty's-bought example.

On the Plus account, I picked up the Autobianchi (fresh into the UCD last night), golded the Nurburgring GP and Suzuka CE's, and got my SIXTH lowest-possible 5,000 Cr/3-star Wheel of Despair (and 7th 3-star) in the last 14 marathon Wheels of Despair. Fortunately, the CE's paid well enough that I have only the Toyota FT-1 Gr.3 and the two Volkswagen Gr.3s left to buy from the 450,000-Cr. Brand Central logjam, while maintaining enough Cr. to buy everything from the UCD and Hagerty's that is at or under 450,000 Cr. that I don't already own.
Thanks for the info chap. Very much appreciated

Did a live stream first practising with the Skyline Super Silhouette at Red Bull Ring ready for the new time trial today. Then once I moved on to sport mode and did daily race B - I haven't done very many of the daily races so I have been slowly building up my rating. Last night I managed to do 3 races where I finished on the podium, all 3 races were good fun and pretty clean.

First race it put me on pole position and I just lead from start to finish and got fastest lap. The second race I figured it would bump me up a bit so I set a better qualifying time. Sure enough it was only good enough for 3rd. Had a good race, tried for 2nd but gave the guy a slight tap so let him have the place back. Finished 3rd. This was good enough to bump me up to B/S rating. Which I found amusing. There had been some B rated drivers in the previous race so I knew I could live with them. Next race I started 4th. Stuck with the top 3 and there was some good racing all around me. 2nd/3rd had a bit of a tussle and I managed to get ahead. Then conceded 2nd at the start of the following lap, but kept the pressure up and managed to pull off an overtake that had us side by side through 4 corners before I eventually came out on top. Kept 2nd to the end. Great race.

Clip of the battle

Did some Daily Race C yesterday in the Genesis, will now try the Megane. As Brands Hatch needs concentration and i tend to play when i am already sleepy i think i will run the few newr menu book races that i just got 2. or 3. place again on medium difficulty as i dont really like the challenge of Suzuka in VGTs or the new Classic challenge on redbull Ring. Same goes for my missing 1h of RBR Mission. I golded the first 5 1h Missions and just got bronze on 6th an 8th one. So bronze on RBR will be ok.

Then i want to go of to the new Online time Trial.

Nabbed the gold time in the new Red Bull Ring online time trial with the Skyline Super Silhouette by a tenth today. 1:29.216. This was my first time getting the gold time in one of these. I used my pad as usual.

I also won another engine swap from a four-star daily mileage ticket! Toyota’s famed 2JZ engine, to be specific. 😎 Time to shove it in one of my GR86s.

made my cockpit offset again, they have corrected the shadow res on that mode. game is way immersive like this.

the basics of GT7 are the best in the series

Is the offset camera intended for some kind of alternative cockpit setup or should it be enjoyed normally? I haven't tried it because it seemed odd when looking at it but maybe I just need to give it a go :D.

Trying the Megane was a mistake. Can't drive it on that track and went back to the Genesis. Today many B drivers changed to the Megane (and some Alfas again) and they dont have a lot of controll over the Renault. Started 14th and went up to 7th place just by staying calm. I am about 85% on my was to an A rating but i dont expect too much as my qualy time on Brands Hatch is 1:30:5 and not getting any better.

As i don't like Lago Maggiore i will try Fuji Gr.2 next week. If it doesn't work out and my rating falls, i will stop and concentrate on golding the Online Time Trial. 1:29:6 after about 5 laps should get me there somehow...

Attempted a no stop menu 42 Suzuka race in the LM55 for my daily miles and ticket. Going great until lap 8. Deluge wiped out my lead and DNF, lol. Toyed around with a quick to apply livery idea to help identify and organize my cars that I like and tune. Really hope a future update will bring custom labels or folders. Finally, ran a couple laps on the full ring in the McLaren F1 before shutting down.

Was very annoyed to see my gold civic time got demoted to silver in the last 48h. I did have a couple of tenths in me but did not do it because i thought i was safe. Lessons learned. Im now gold again on rbr but probably need to get quicker if i want to stay at gold. Did a quick Sarthe run in a porsche for some cash and waiting patiently for some very expensive cars at hagerty.

If you can position your seat on the right side or the left side of the screen, its really great, otherwise it will look offset lol

On the GTP account, I did the Tokyo grind in a stock Citroen road car. It's broadly similar to the R33 tune I have, but I have to change tires. The 3-star Wheel of Despair gave...wait for it...wait for it...the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr.

On the Plus account, getting all gold at Tokyo Central Clockwise almost gave me the 7th lowest-possible 5,000 Cr. on the 3-star Wheel of Despair out of the last 15 marathon tickets, but the light stopped on the item just before it, a full-custom ECU for the MP4-12C. Still, that's now 8 3-star Tickets of Despair out of the last 15 marathon tickets. I still need the Volkswagen GTI VGT Gr.3 to complete the 450,000-Cr. Brand Central logjam.

Today was raining hard at home, thunderstorms and heavy rain all day so I did a custom 1-hour race at La Sarthe with heavy rain, from sunset to dawn, with 14 of my most used cars for Le Mans WTC 700PP; while listening to Garbage's "Only happy when it rains"... Also, Yellow on the weather map!!

My PS4 Pro struggled to even zoom in on this shot from the first lap:

All cars range from 684PP up to an even 700PP; except for the Alpine 220, the Camaro ZL1 and the R30 Silhouette, all cars are engine-swapped ones. Lost the race due to a failed pitstop (went in with HW tires all worn off but clicked "don't change tires" by accident, so had to reenter the next lap which by then the BMW CSL rocketed by and stayed on 1P until the end) but still it was such a very interesting race!

I did see the xj13 in the shop looked at my account and see i only have 4 mil.... my thought? CRAP! that around 6 hour of grind and i dont think i have that time before its gone...

I had a go at setting up a couple of Custom Races at Fuji and there is a lot of potential here for future enjoyment.

And yet, there's a few simple but annoying things that still bug me about Custom Races.

1. Why do we need to have multiple copies of the same car to race against different liveried cars?? - With one GT-R Skyline in my garage, but selecting the option to race against Garage Cars, I had a field of 20 identical cars which - frankly - utterly ruins the realism of the race... which is the entire point of the exercise IMO. Given that I have created and downloaded (and paid for...) multiple liveries for this car, is it not beyond the wit of man that we might select the same model but use different liveries simultaneously? The only other option is to literally buy more copies of the same car and manually select them - but, unfortunately the cars I want to use can only be purchased in the LCD.

2. The prize money. A 10 lap race at Fuji is pretty much the same in terms of length, difficulty etc. as several events, e.g the WTC 700 event at Autopolis, which pays 130,000 Cr. Even on Hard difficulty, a 10 lap race at Fuji (lasting 18 minutes) pays a fraction of that. Why?? It disincentivises using this mode of the game - and for no good reason.

3. It's a pity that there's not an option between 'Select by Group' and 'Select from Garage'... again, in the interests of realism, one can't expect a stock '99 GT-R or Supra GT500 to compete against newer Gr. 2 cars, and they can't unless they are (unrealistically) boosted... hence why the 'Select from Garage' option is potentially so attractive... but in its current form it doesn't work.

Otherwise, Custom Races would take up the vast majority of my time if I were able to build a full JGTC line-up, complete with classic liveries and stock settings that would make for a very tight and realistic race experience.

Noticed for the first time the "Race Shop" button at the start of a race! Really useful! How long has it been there????

On the GTP account, I did Sardegna with the 2008 NSX GT500, and got the usual lowest-possible 10,000-Cr. insult from the 4-star Wheel of Despair.

On the Plus account, after taking way too long to gold the Tokyo East Clockwise CE, I finally got a 4-star Wheel of Despair, but it was for the usual lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. I finally bought the last Gr.3 car (the Volkswagen Volkswagen GTI VGT (Gr.3)).

Looked through my garage to see what could compete at LeMans, but I'd not driven yet, & came up with the Porsche 917 Living Legend. Detuned it, with full ballast to the front, which, believe it or not, gave a 50/50 weight balance.. Yes, I know its a Porsche, its weight is supposed to be over the back end, but it handled really nice, even when it started raining on Mulsanne straight. ( never starts raining when I'm approaching the pit? 🤔). Also maxed the rear downforce & lowered the LSD levels, to get to 699 PP.
Went back to driving school and golded some licences that I'd neglected to. Still a few more to do, mostly bronze S licences. Really looking forward to S10 😬

After what seems like an absolute age (5 weeks by my reckoning), my time at the top of the 'Recommended' Scapes page on GT7 finally came to an end today :( - albeit after racking up 1599 likes... that said, after 5 weeks even I was getting tired of it

...however, I'm delighted to see that another one of my Scapes has made it into the new list of Recommended Scapes  (this time featuring one of my own replica Styles, the Arta R33 JGTC '98 livery)

Did sarthe in a engine swapped Lancia delta and im convinced this is one of the fastest cars to do this track/combo with. Fastest lap was a 3:59.0 on hard tires, which i had not yet done. dream to drive! Also saw i had a gr2 lexus lying around in the garage with about 0kms on it, so did the spa race with it. Pretty much a cheatcar, its to easy to drive xD. Anyway, was fun but i prefer that race with tuned road cars that can kill you if your not on it. Did a pickup truck race on a dirt course and then called it a day.

Bought the another of each the 911 GT1 and F50 and painted two of my FK8 Type Rs in Honda’s Championship White and Crystal Black since I can’t get the car with those colors out of the box. It’s all thanks to it being the “Limited Edition” model.

I did some races around Le Mans, Tokyo, and Sardegna. Annoyingly, in the wet Tokyo WTC600 race I did today with my Praiano-based Calsonic R32 build, I got that damn five-second penalty for hitting the barrier. Clearly, it was Hizal’s Impreza at fault, successfully pit maneuvering my Skyline in response to my overtake. The AI’s a joke.

Collected 1.000.000
Noticed that I was just in time for brands hatch!

Entered with my pink viper, remembered that my car may not have soft or mediums... Checked the regs, needed mediums. Missed the entry, did not wait half an hour for the next race...

It doesn't make sense you can sign up without the required tires...
