On the Plus account, I tried to get 8 laps in at Sarthe with the Red Bull Junior on a no-stop strategy. I was a bit conservative with the fuel mix, putting it at 4. The track was dry through lap 5, which is when I set my fast lap of 4:25.5. That wouldn't have been quite fast enough even if it didn't rain at the end of that lap and well into lap 6, eventually making it sketchy for racing slicks (but too late to pit for intermediates, and the track dried enough by the end of the lap to make it a moot point). Still, time ran out as I approached Indianapolis for the 7th time, and by the end, I still had well over 2 laps of fuel.
The 4-star marathon roulette gave me a second 2021 Toyota GR86 RZ, and I do have a Supra engine available. I did pick up the newer Lexus GT500, leaving me only the newer Nissan GT500 to get out of that class.
On the GTP account, after getting a few Panteras (RE! SPECT! WALK! WHAT DID YOU SAY?!), stuffing new engines in them and stretching out two, I decided the Camaro ZL1 would be a fine candidate for Sarthe. After buying the necessary tires (RH/Intermediate/Wet), a rear diffuser, hood pins and tow hooks (getting it up to 680.12 PP with the RH tires with aero otherwise untouched).
I was wrong. At full tilt, it won't even go 2 laps, and I had to short-shift at just over 6,000 rpm to make FM6 work for 3 laps, which left me off the pace at the first pit stop, with lap 2 at 4:25.
Fortunately, it had just started to rain...HARD, and I grabbed full-wet tires, while only the 4 backmarkers took intermediates, the others who pitted on lap 3 took their second sets of slicks, and Haywood stayed out. Three of the 4 on intermediates took 2nd through 4th by Mulsanne, while Lopez took 5th by Arnage. A couple of other former backmarkers stayed out on lap 4 on their second sets of slicks...not all of them by choice, while the former frontrunners came down for mostly intermediates (Portilla took full wets after a very adventurous 4th lap, and Haywood took a second set of RH tires) as the rain ended.
The track was dry enough for slicks in some spots by the end of lap 5, but nobody came down pit road. I could have parked it on lap 6, but I wanted to see what the Camaro would do full-tilt, so I grabbed a full load of fuel and RH tires. Kawakami, who put a second set of RS tires on lap 3 and stayed out lap 4, caught Lopez, the last of the ones who took intermediates on lap 3, at the Ford Chicane on lap 6. Meanwhile, Kokubun came across the line in 2nd at the 30:20 mark. The others who stayed out on lap 4 came in 6th through 9th. Portilla regretted his decision to take wet tires on lap 4 instead of lap 3, only gaining 1 spot (thanks to Haywood...more on that in a bit), and losing 3 spots after the Porsche Curves on his lap 6. Haywood spun out of 10th, where he came out of the pits because he didn't take tires, in the Dunlop Chicane, waiting until everybody else came through to rejoin the racing line, and finished last.
As for my 7th lap, I saw 193 mph at the braking zone for the first Musanne chicane, and went through 54% of the fuel in turning an out lap of 4:47.6. I tried to share the fun on the GTP_Eggstor PSN (it won't upload). The 3-star roulette gave the low-showing/2nd-highest possible 100,000 Cr.
Edit - I can't upload the replay.
