On the Plus account, I got rain tires for the Subaru Gr.4, then took it to Sarthe. Despite the low PP, it probably would win a dry race. It wasn't exactly dry - a short band of yellow sent me to the pits for intermediates after the second lap, and a second bout of rain during lap 5 sent everybody else down for intermediates. I had planned on pitting on lap 5 to put the slicks back on, but I saw the second batch of rain incoming and stretched the fuel out to lap 6. A win is a win, as is the usual lowest-possible 100,000 Cr. on a 5-star roulette wheel. It wasn't enough to get the other Volkswagen VGT.
On the GTP account, it was a wet laugher as I pulled out an old Praiano-based tune for an R32 GT-R. Once I remembered I had to set the fuel map down to make 3 laps (I used FM 6, though I probably could have done FM 5 or maybe even FM 4), it was easy. The soaking rain came starting at the end of lap 2, which is when I came down for full-wet tires. The rest of the field waited until lap 3 to choose what tires to switch to, and they were all over the field. The on-track rain lasted until I made it through Dunlop on lap 4, though a band of rain stayed to the east throughout that lap, so I came back down on lap 5 for a fresh set of RH tires and fuel. Even though I kept the fuel map at 6, I set the fast lap of the race on the final lap (7), at just under 4:20.
The 3-star Wheel of Despair chipped in no cash, instead giving a camshaft for the Jaguar F-type R. Still, could have been worse and a semi-racing muffler.
