This.

Finally.

Also finally won the Bathurst 20 minute race in the missions.

Now for the last 2 drift missions, the 30 minute High Speed Ring and the full lap cone challenge to finish them (not worrying about Human Comedy any time soon).

Had one of the most frustrating racing experiences I've had for quite some time.
This damage model needs to calm the hell down.

Went to do a blitz around Panarama in this week's daily B. I haven't raced this track for awhile and didn't have time to throw down any qualifiers, but figured that's fine as I'll do a throw away race to warm up by starting from the back.

Lap 1 climbing up the mountain and there was a huge 3 car crash ahead of me just by the peak. 1 of the ghosted cars was trying to get back up to speed and unghosted just to my right and cut hard left toward the apex, as if I wasn't there, this pushes me into the barrier. Not hard at all, more a soft tap. Now my car is pulling hard right after a tap. Due to having to slow more to turn left I quickly get caught and passed.

Lap 2 and I've caught back up and passed some of the cars again. Going back up the peak, turn a fraction too early and rub the barrier on the inside of a turn. Cars pulling hard left this time... Over the peak and I get rear ended in a braking zone, have to slam the brakes to try to avoid the barrier but fail. Now I have full left/right/front/engine damage... from taps with the barrier. Quit out and go play something else.

This may be an extreme example, but the damage model on tracks with barriers can cripple your race over the most minor impact with the barrier. Contact that should just be a paint scrap is excessively exaggerated into something that, in a full sim, would likely see you have to retire the car.

Made about 5 million cr at Tokyo and Le Mans, just too make another 4.5mill for the Ferrari 250gto later on. got some sport suspension for AMG safety car on my 4 star ticket worth 6800cr whoopee :) .

Finally golden the Nurburgring circuit experience. Previously i was 4 seconds off the pace and thought i’d not be able to find the extra speed. But now done.

Went straight back to grinding Sardegna and noticed my driving has improved. So challenging yourself does make a difference. There just need to be more challenging events in GT7

Went back and golded all the license tests through I-A. Ran a couple of the Group 4 daily races at Bathurst, had better luck running the Atenza (4th) than the Silvia Touring Car (11th). Will probably try the other daily races since I'm off work all this week (and attempt to gold the Super License tests).

I think the WRX is the fastest at Bathurst.

I bought a TVR Tuscan Speed 6, swapped the engine and tuned it to 900 bhp. Equipped it with comfort soft tyres and had a one-lap race around Route X at sunset in alpine mist.

On the Plus account, it was a formulatic win at Tokyo with the Citroen GT road car, even though Kokubun was unnaturally quick. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr., but I had enough to get the last 1,000,000-Cr. car, the (2017) Zagato IsoRivolta Zagato VGT.

I waited until after the midnight GMT refresh, and was rewarded with seeing the Toyota 2000GT in Hagerty's. As I didn't have the car on the Plus account, I snapped it up. That leaves 52 cars left to get on that account, at least for now...at a cost of 309,682,500 Cr.

On the GTP account, the KTM X-BOW was still good enough at Tokyo. The 4-star despairing roulette gave a stage 5 weight reduction for the Taycan.

Hadn't logged in for about a week, had 500,000 waiting for me from the national championship thing. Today is also my birthday so I was gifted a car, the bmw vgt, which I didn't have yet. Went ahead and ran a race at le mans, no rain, got a 4star ticket for a million credits. Looks like it's going to be a good day.

10s improvement over previous best? That's good work.

One day it'll be my turn.
That previous best was one of the only other times I managed to complete the lap, and that was when I still played on controller not long after the game had come out.

I'd been getting much quicker through it, but would always come unstuck on the sweeping left hand bends before the final 2 corners.

Blanchimont, graveyard of so many attempts. If I get through there unscathed I usually outbrake myself entering the final chicane anyway. Still attempting this on pad, though may be able to borrow a wheel if I haven't done it by Christmas.

Be sure to buy a lottery ticket today.:)

My very first Nordschleife full lap I was 3 Tenths off the Gold time. Then spent 2 hours getting progressively slower. Just shows how frustration really impacts your pace.

Turned it off for a break. Then did one final lap before bed and won Gold by a few hundredths!

Did some grinding (which I don't usually do) to put towards the Jag trophy car. Just Sardegna in Gr.3 cars I like. The Citroen is very quick but thirsty and twitchy (sub 1:40 laps which at my skill level denotes a very good machine), Z4 is slower but an absolute pleasure to drive, Mustang is a good allrounder (and that combo is responsible for my only Sport wins). Still need another 7 million before the car disappears, hopefully will get it done this week.

Made my 4.5 mill fror the Ferrari 250GTO, Just 3 stinker 20 mill cars left to buy, Had copied a setup for the Cappucinno but was losing control often at Tokyo, looking at me setup, It was too low and obviously aquaplaning when I hit a puddle going round a corner and spinning out, raising it up a fair bit solved that., now onto building cash up for tomorrow's junk :). Also stopped wrapping my thumbs round my wheel after god knows how many years and finding steering control is much better.

100% this. The very slightest taps puts a heavier damage penalty on you in the new system than it did if you crashed into a barrier at 180mph. The threshold for what constitutes damage needs to be cut back 30-40%, and the amount of damage applied needs to looked at again as it is very inconsistent. I'd rather they just make it an instant disqualification than add 30-45sec of pulling hard to one side. It would be a lot more realistic than the damage just fixing itself in a minute or less, lol.

With all of the things missing from the game they're wasting time on the damage system... It was fine before, maybe extend the length the damage was applied but that's it. Boom, done. Move on to something sorely needed, like races/events. Changing the physics models of EVERYTHING this late into the release is just odd, almost as if they're building GT8 in real-time and using GT7 as a test-bed 🤡

Finally got this bad boy, and now only need one more car (one more Skyline GT-R) to complete the full 1999 JGTC GT500 grid.

This is by far the most expensive car on the grid, at 10,000,000 Cr. - I basically did the Spa 24 hr race 5 times in the last few days in order to get it, lucky I enjoy that race so much.

Something inexplicable happened today. I just logged the most kilometres in a single day today. 1222.0 to be exact. Just one spa and one sarthe for some cash, the daily race B for the rest of the day. Enjoyed Bathurst so much i could not stop. With the exception of 1 or 2 races, they were all enjoyable. Racing the ferrari gt4 car. The Atenza understeers too much for my liking and i cant get the Alfa to work for me and the Subaru is just an ugly car, so ferrari it is for this race! Still cant wrap my head around qualy position though. With the same qualy time i was 15th and 2nd on the grid in consecutive races. Doesnt make sense. But still one of the best days in gt7 to date.

Assistance sucks in this game, even though the brake line, zone and alert go off while braking at the same time my car WILL always miss the mark. I tried changing the ABS setting from default to Weak to see if that would help. I normally just braked earlier than usual.

I had 22 minutes left in WTC 800 Spa 24 hours race. Trying to get back into the race I hit retry by accident. I hate this game with a passion now, something important such to retry a race should at least get a warning, not just assume you want to do it. I have done this by accident before in the past but urgency is key before a server update and **** changes. PD can suck it. LOLOLOLOL

i was trying to do three 1 hour races before the update but now i can do two, FML

Put my 800PP e-tron VGT to the test at Spa, and surprised by how it performed.

  • Tires only lasted 5 Laps at the start, with about 2 Laps of battery left.
  • Rain wasn't too bad. A spit of green at night, dried up until the early morning and had another quick cloud.
  • Nearly 2 Laps ahead of Portilla. We were fairly matched with speed, but I had the torque and AWD :)

On the Plus account, I proved the BMW M4 Gr.4 is too slow for Sarthe, which is a shame considering I'm expecting new regulations for the higher-power grinders requiring detuning most of the Gr.4s tomorrow. Instead, I got within 18 seconds of an 8-lap run with the soon-to-be-banned Red Bull Junior. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the low-showing 30,000 Cr., putting me 1,100,000 Cr. short of buying the Ford GT LM Test Car and having enough to get the current set of cars that are cheaper, that I don't have, and that are unavailable (not to mention the incoming cars).

On the GTP account, I took one last hurrah around Sarthe with the tuned Focus RS. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. as usual.

Finally beat 800PP Spa and Gr.1 Daytona.

Tried to recreate the Ferrari F430 Challenge car. Basically stripped the weight out and added better brakes/suspension + slicks Incredibly fun car. Too bad the car is too expensive to fill up a grid with.

Took that same build approach and applied it to the MP4-12C. Kept the active aero in and added a front splitter. Took the damper setup from my Vette tune that I used for Spa, and it turned out to be the best feeling car I've ever driven in this game. Its almost on par with a Gr.3 car and I basically did nothing to it.

Forgot to post last night but I got home after work and downloaded the new update.
  • checked out the new scapes and thought they were cool
  • purchased the Mazda MX-5 race car and Maserati Merak from the LCD
  • unlocked all the rewards from the extra menus instantly as I already have all the cars
  • did the 3 historic races to unlock the reward
  • completed the new Gr.1 race at Fuji

Today I'll do 2x Sardegna races to acquire 1.45m credits and then buy the new Nissan from the LCD and the GT-R Gr.3 cars to go 446/446 cars in-game. Any remaining credits I have will go towards buying real car paint jobs - I only have half the black ones, then grey and white ones to purchase I believe for full 100% completion.
